    When an object is dropped from a height, there is a specific law of gravity that describes the speed of the fall, so that there is a direct relationship between time & speed of falling. What if the time & numbers were not even related except by random relationship, such as the number of people infected on any given day over a period of days/months? Can you still use a log scale to set up that relationship.

    huh? Where did the y, C, d come from? Edit: oh silly me, its the general exponential equation y=C(b)^t
