  • The Gowrie to Helidon (G2H) section is one of 13 projects that complete Inland Rail. This project comprises 26km of new dual gauge track between Gowrie (north-west of Toowoomba) and Helidon (east of Toowoomba). It crosses the two Local Government Areas of Toowoomba and Lockyer Valley. G2H will be delivered under the Gowrie to Kagaru Public Private Partnership and will include a new approximately 6km tunnel to create an efficient route through the steep terrain of the Toowoomba Range.
We have produced four videos which provide a commentary of the major aspects of the G2H alignment. In this video, Project Manager Max Nichols talks about our approaches to safety and tunnel ventilation, taking us through a 3-D visualisation of the proposed tunnel reference design, and aspects which informed the current design thinking for ventilation and tunnel portals.
