Twabiita. I wouldn't buy a house in Uganda right now even if money was it itching me. Nobody gonna steal my property in the US. I was born in Uganda but will only visit to see my parents graves and leave.

If I buy a house here, it’s of greater value, if it’s sold when I’m dead my family will benefit, my only child I have was born here and I don’t see him going back to Africa to live. My aunt died in covid times and up till now her ashes are still here, her house she built in Uganda is being occupied by relatives, her kids can’t even claim it or the land as they have British citizenship, the house is massive and beautiful but she didn’t sleep in it, her kids can’t use it or sell it as no Ugandan id ndagamuntu, any efforts to get that has been delayed, kwegamba it’s a mess. If she had bought a house for them I. U.K. it would have automatically passed into them and even if sold they’d get better value in pounds than shillings.
