IM THE CONTRA THAT TRIED TO PICK IT UP LMAO, Saw it and did it out of impulse and was gonna try and throw it to the sideline and off the field but realized I wasn’t gonna be near the front sideline any time soon so I just dropped where I thought it’d be more out of the way.
That’s so weird because this happened at dci southeastern championship in atlanta too 😭 we were all murmuring about the shoe and then all of the sudden we found the second one 30 years down the field. Figured the kid took both off for better balance but maybe he just got unlucky twice 😭
At least it's turf. When this happened to a member of our band, it was a grass field, it had been POURING the rain for HOURS the day before, and about 10 other bands had already taken the field for competition. Needless to say, we were basically mud wrestling with instruments.
This happened to someone in my band at a boa competition. Luckily one of the judges grabbed it and threw it to the front of the field so it was out of the way
That happened to a kid in band at my school last year, he was a bass drum but broke his wrist so he marched a spot as a trumpet to fill a hole (our old band director wasn’t very good so that’s why) and while he was marching the show his shoe came off
The thing that surprised me is the fact that nobody tripped over it. They didn’t even look like they marched over it either, which makes it all the more interesting for me. 🤔

Wow what a coincidence! lmao

Yay let’s go contras, yeah we had a DCI watch part in my band hall, i some how noticed it😂
@charliekerr9401
You dropped it in the anti dot. No one tripped on it. That’s a win.
OMG WHAT HEY CHARLIE I LITERALLY WOULD MESSAGE YOU DURING THE SEASON ON INSTA

i think remember him saying in a instagram comment section he took the other off and kept going like a champ
As soon as Xmen learn shoe-tying, they're gonna be in finals fr 🤙

we performed there last year for 4A uil state marching contest and we won!

Happened to me once, got caught in the heel by a prop. Lucky me it brought me to my knee so I was able to pick it up and keep going
I’ve had this happen to me once in my freshman year of high school. It was a finals performance and it was the second last performance of the season

This happened to cascades too lol
was it at huntington?
I wonder how many people at the show were focused on the shoe for the rest of the show.
Lmao i lost my mouthpiece to my trumpet last year at the beginning of our show at a competition
The shoe must go on.
Drum go boom!
Go bones
It's because it was a mellos shoe
i saw that lmao
This is why they make us wear socks with no logos 🥸 Good thing homie didn’t become a Nike sponsor lol
Do you march Crossmen?
@@zackman77 Haha no, just did marching band once upon a time. Would have loved to though as I’m from the area.
Cool!
