@Daniel Moore I'm a big Froch fan - BUT Calzaghe is up there with Lewis in 1 and 2 position (up for debate who is at number 1) of British fighters. Calzaghe won all four major belts at 168, and ring belts at 168 an 175, and retiring at 46 - 0. Froch had a great career, maybe he fought a few more harder opponents (although Calzaghe beat a lot of past, present or future champions, and an ATG in Hopkins), but Calzaghe's achievements are actually even better than Froch's.
Daniel Moore Calzaghe actually beat more world champions than Froch, when you add the number of past, present and future champions they both fought. He was also unbeaten, and won all four major belts at 168 (only a very small number of fighters have done that an any weight. I think it's only Hopkins at 160 and Crawford at 140). He also won ring belts at two weights (Froch never held it at any weight). Also Hopkins was 43, but when you're talking about him, the age factor is not the same as other fighters. He schooled Pavlik in his next fight 6 months later - it was embarrassing for Pavlik. Hopkins was still winning world titles at 175, beating the likes of Pascal and Cloud, several years after the Calzaghe fight. He was still in the p4p top 10 when Calzaghe beat him, and was number one at 175 after beating Tarver, again in embarrassing fashion. Calzaghe against Ward - no one knows, but Calzaghe would definitely be a harder opponent for him than Froch.

It is not just about what AJ didn’t do but about what Andy did do and does in every fight! If you had ever seen Andy fighting, you’ve also seen his opponents looking around for help by the 6th - 8th round. Holyfield said it: Andy was the first man I thought I couldn’t beat.

I'm a big Froch fan - BUT Calzaghe is up there with Lewis in 1 and 2 position (up for debate who is at number 1) of British fighters.
Calzaghe won all four major belts at 168, and ring belts at 168 an 175, and retiring at 46 - 0.
Froch had a great career, maybe he fought a few more harder opponents (although Calzaghe beat a lot of past, present or future champions, and an ATG in Hopkins), but Calzaghe's achievements are actually even better than Froch's.

Calzaghe actually beat more world champions than Froch, when you add the number of past, present and future champions they both fought.
