They feel the Germans sabotaged it setting explosives in it so on who knows. That ship was bombarded so much and still stayed afloat they took out the brains of the ship but she was still floating. Just amazing. Can't beat German engineering and when James Cameron went down there to look at the hull it was beautiful some shells and some torpedoes got through some of the armor belt but only flooded some small compartments but didn't really breach the main hull of the ship and the sister ship turpits I know I spelled that wrong Don't know why Hitler decided to waste such a ship and just docking it It would have been better off out there fighting what a waste LoL

There are probably so many cases of this kinda stuff but we just dont know about it. Imagine the Planes in WW2 that got shot down into the ocean while their pilot was still alive? Opening the cockpit is impossible due to waterpressure.
The sailors trapped on the Oklahoma when she capsized.
He hurt me with the tirpitz, I like it because its 2000 tonnes bigger let me know if there was some major flaw that made it bad because I don't know.

The Texas will always be my favorite because it's captain was crazy enough to lean the ship to gain more range and make sure the enemy was extra dead before they left.
That picture of USS Nevada is enough to produce a lot of angry gacha noises from far away

I'd recommend you go watch the mighty jingles and his review of the Tirpitz in world of warships if you haven't seen it. He does review the ship but most of the video he talks about the history behind the ship and the effort made by allied command to sink the damn thing.

My favorite or at least one of my favorite aspects is the absolute hell of devoting so many resources and fleet assets to merely sink one mostly stationary vessel and the thought of keeping units on absolute standby incase said ship leaves their Fjord.
Also I do know about those knives but they seem to sell before I can get a chance to get at the listings. To my knowledge they are made of plating from SK C/34 mount Cesar if I am not mistaken. Really lovely pieces either way
@@F-4E-58-MC no no not, the knifes are Tirpitz damast, made from high carbon steel and wotan hard steel (tirpitz armour) they cost around 600 bucks for europeans, but i would give my left kidney for one

The hell you mean Tirpitz isn't anyone's favorite? I treat her like a queen(no I'm not a simp or whatever it's called, she'sjust my favorite ship in Azur Lane) just cause of her nickname and I feel sorry for her cause the Royal Navy didn't understand that she had no reason to fight them even if they were at war. She just wanted to be left alone like she was bit they didn't care, all they saw was that she was Bismarck's sister and that she posed a threat.

There’s a lot of World of Warships players who would pick Tirpitz because he absolutely dominates brawl matches.
Picked the _Texas_ since my great-grandfather enlisted in the Navy at 16 and served on that one in the late '30s, about a few years before he changed his mind, went into the Army, and became an officer around the start of US involvement in WWII.
So there's a personal family story with the _Texas_

Fun fact, the USS Texas was the only ship to hit its targets during D Day, because the captain ordered one side of the ship to be flooded, this caused the ship to tilt at the perfect angle that gave the cannons enough range to hit the beaches

I like the Tirpitz for two reasons. Firstly, she is Bismarck’s bigger sister and secondly, she is the lonely queen of the north. In German, the second one sounds better😅

In Fact the Tirpiz would have been stronger than the Bismark (because it was upgraded after the Bismark was sunk) but Germany didn't used the Tirpiz
They did use her, but the allies had a huge numerical advantage and the germans had to retreat or they would have been destroyed

2. It’s named after the capital of my country

Having served on the Nevada (SSBN 733) and met some of the survivors of BB during our commissioning, I was proud of that. (Also served on San Francisco commissioning, but don't recall meeting her prior crew).
