That is true but the flow of the plot was also given to them. The dialogues are all improvs but they have the plot and the personality to guide them through it.

let me just explain the characters:
Mina - the main boss
The managers of each department is the maknae line Dahyun, Chaeyoung and Tzuyu.
The staffs of each department is Momo, Sana and Jihyo.
The intern is Nayeon.
Then Mina needs a assistant so the intern Nayeon and the staffs Momo, Sana and Jihyo apply as well for the Assistant position.
They are the same characters since the season 1.
