My nephew used to play these war games before he went into the army and experienced combat firsthand. After he returned from Iraq 🇮🇶 he never played anymore games. He was extremely lucky that he came back in one piece although he has PTSD from his time spent in that warzone.
The "real thing" is a lot different because at the end you either experience the tragedy or look over the dead bodies. EXACTLY WHY I feel these computer games should be banned forever !

Volunteered for 3 deployments even when Clinton pulled out the Armor. No clue what the PTSD is all about. My family fought through the Dominican, Belleau Wood, Pacific, Korea, and Vietnam and they all said the same thing to me. As long as your killing people who really deserve it you should sleep like a baby. Issues today are the kids have never been raised with adversity like the WW 2 and Korea generations and don't have those people to fall back on. I sent my sons to Afghanistan and explained to them what my grandfather, uncles and father told me. You can kill people for the right reason. I.E. it makes the world better. And you do it without emotion. Do it and know your doing gods work and come home with a clear mind. You kill to save your buddies from the worst of humanity on the planet. Country and apple pie come second. We need to stop raising kids as pussies and as men. This country was not founded on weakness but men who persevered through the worst at Valley Forge and Breeds Hill. Shiloh and Antietam. The Argonne, Guadalcanal, Omaha Beach, Chosin, Dak To, Khe Sahn. Volunteer military. If your not up to the task then don't go. If you do go stop complaining about it. You got what you asked for. Combat is not for the faint of character. There is a reason why we are part of that select club of men.

It was 1990 and I wanted to go to the original Desert Storm. My Sis, Mom and Dad, being selfish, not wanting me to die literally did anything within their power to stop me. I am still, after over 30 years, so pissed off I let them stop me. Its my only regret in my life. Had 4 friends who went. All came home. I would have too. Because I'm a badass 💪. With any battle you have to know you are gonna win before the fight. I've never doubted victory and have never lost any fight (wife not included) to anyone. And I am only 165 lbs 5ft 10inch tall. Actually beat the shit out of every opponent. Rarely a bump or bruise on me. Sorry to ramble, just feel I would have done well and should have helped. Damn It bums me out. Sir Also, THANK YOU SO DAMN MUCH FOR WHAT YOU AND YOURS HAVE DONE. The pain and death your family has saved from others says it all. And reducing the rodent and pest count helps too. But if it's a you or them scenario, then from my point of view, it is easy to make sure it isn't you and deal with it, without it leaving a mark on your mental state. I've seen this in extreme danger scenarios where an action one way or another dictates what happens and I've seen how others around me reacted, with some practically throwing their arms in the air type reaction from one person and an instinctual 'let's do this' attitude from the ones that can handle it. I call it mental fortitude! Not everyone has it. Regarding the military. It is quite obvious to me that a large percentage of the population are just not fit for it with regards to their 'mental fortitude' but they are recruited anyway. In the real world, there is a several second time delay between the guns firing and the bullets striking the target. Over Laos in the AC-130A, in 1970, it was seven seconds.

Modern weaponry should convince anyone thinking of driving armoured vehicles in an army is not a good idea. Armoured vehicles give a sense of fake protection these days
They are great targets though. Life expectancy for a massive Abrahms tank is minutes. A child with an RPG can disable one. Like battleships they are obsolete. Gunships are more helpless than what they shoot at against any fighter and used only against third-world victims determined to be defenseless. The delicate Stealth bombers are similar. Not designed for actual wars, they are subsonic and like B52s hardly faster than a commercial 747. They can be knocked out by runway debris thrown up by their own tires; since little Serbia destroyed two with ancient AA they are only deployed where nobody can shoot back like the 60 year old AC130

I love the destruction the warthog is capable of and when I watch the videos of any type such as this I use to never read the full description. That being said I was amazed to see that Arma3 was a game being as realistic as they are.
Either way this game is awesome. The realism seems close enough to realistic enough to enjoy and appreciate the military’s arsenal and see the destruction it’s capable of.

There is no bright flashes from the high explosive rounds of 25, 40 or the 105 mm that is used, this weapon should have been top secret from day 1, I just hope our enemy never gets this in their arsenal!

While in an assault helichopter company in Viet Nam had a cowboy door gunner spot a deer in a large clearing. He told the pilot to call our company that deer will be on that nights diner menu. Was told that he fired 500 rounds if his M60 door machine gun and never hit the deer. Pilot told him that he did not want him as a no hit door gunner. Of course we broke his balls for weeks over it.
How long would it take to fire up Arma 3 (I bought it but didn't play it much) and get into this mission? Even if I need to use a trainer or savefile just to get to the mission?
Attacking the front vehicles would call attention to the drivers behind and possibly cause them to deviate from the road into the fields, scattering all the vehicles going in different directions.
Although the technology of the time didn't provide for footage such as this, I'm reminded of the damage done by the AC-119 Shadow's and Stinger's out of Tan Son Nhut AB and Phan Rang AB in the early 70's.
I started off watching this thinking it was real and I thought that's wierd using a mouse to aim with 🤣 it was only when the vehicle exploded and bits came out and made the others explode I realised it was fake. Lol

I know every body has a learning curve when starting out. But a lot of Ammo was wasted here. Someone needs to work with the gunner on his/her movement and a moving target. I did like how a taking out a lead vehicle slowed the convoy up but food for thought; would it not be better like taking out birds in flight start from the back and work forward as not alert/alarm the enemy and they maneuver in a defensive posture? Hopefully by now the gunner uses the cross hair sights and adjusts for movement if still on active duty. To all who have served Thank You!

@Tirzah Thomas only an idiot would think that this was real. You can walk in rounds in real life, not in games especially this one. Their programmers aren’t that good.
I love the destruction the warthog is capable of and when I watch the videos of any type such as this I use to never read the full description. That being said I was amazed to see that Arma3 was a game being as realistic as they are.
this is destruction from an AC-130 gunship ( a converted C-130 Hercules ) -- not an A10 "Warthog"

Either way this game is awesome. The realism seems close enough to realistic enough to enjoy and appreciate the military’s arsenal and see the destruction it’s capable of.

While in an assault helichopter company in Viet Nam had a cowboy door gunner spot a deer in a large clearing. He told the pilot to call our company that deer will be on that nights diner menu. Was told that he fired 500 rounds if his M60 door machine gun and never hit the deer. Pilot told him that he did not want him as a no hit door gunner. Of course we broke his balls for weeks over it.

I wonder what military background you have…🤔 there’s different tactics and operational requirements for every mission.
How long would it take to fire up Arma 3 (I bought it but didn't play it much) and get into this mission? Even if I need to use a trainer or savefile just to get to the mission?

I would have thought it better to attack the front of the convoy and then move to the rear, which would trap the main convoy.
Attacking the front vehicles would call attention to the drivers behind and possibly cause them to deviate from the road into the fields, scattering all the vehicles going in different directions.
And slow the up coming traffic But don’t argue with the BOSS!

I know every body has a learning curve when starting out. But a lot of Ammo was wasted here. Someone needs to work with the gunner on his/her movement and a moving target. I did like how a taking out a lead vehicle slowed the convoy up but food for thought; would it not be better like taking out birds in flight start from the back and work forward as not alert/alarm the enemy and they maneuver in a defensive posture? Hopefully by now the gunner uses the cross hair sights and adjusts for movement if still on active duty.
