We had a project in school, maybe 3rd grade, where we were told to keep the leaf in a book for a few months so that it dries out like that.... Now I'm impressed to see it just takes minutes😭 I loved these then, and I love them now. So pretty🤩

I found friends more important there and learned to look up to them because I was lacking that in my actual family and adults around me. The only people I found that maintained a positive direction were young people at the time. The adults would waver back and forth from being ok, funny, friendly, creative to being completely destructive, sadistic and unfeeling of others. My best teachers at the time were my friends that taught me not to lash out at others and try to be helpful while maintaining the desire to see a positive direction for the future. The adults around me had lost it. I saw it lost in friends and some of the kids my age, older and younger never seemed to have it because of their situation/maybe even something else. We called them leaves. Mostly because they often seemed empty headed and could not explain their actions and emotions with reasonable justification or feeling. And because people just left that positive path all the time.
