I Installed one of these while I get one I bought from you rebuilt, so far so good.
I’m using their gt35 and so far so good it gets the job done all I can say is the journal bearing does take more revs to get up an go the Garrett35r I had spooled Up more quicker but for now it has to do but I’ve beat the crap out so far and it’s doing ok…all the fittings from my old setup is working as well
How it holding up so far?
@@peterflores8079 still works quite well bro it’s basically a budget turbo to use for tuning or whatnot…is it the best turbo out there NO but it has proven numbers for you to get into the game or for temporary use while you save for a better brand…you seriously can’t beat $150 big turbo

I've personally used both the ebay gt30 and gt35. For years. I usually get about 2-3 years on each easily on low boost under 20psi. I have rarely pushed them hard and have never used them past 15k miles. I've only ever had 1 fail in under a year. I would recommend not running a restricter and use the biggest drain you can find.
How's the spool up on these maxspeedingrods turbos, are they really a true gt30 turbo
@@alitoroganan2442 they are close in spec and the spool is fairly decent. I have a mitsub 2.4l 4g64 block/4g63 head. I've also ran the gt30 on my honda b18 build on e85 and was nasty on top end

Good side by side comparison, you are correct its not a direct copy of the garret, it is a Hybrid version of a GT30 Journal bearing turbo unlike the Garret's dual BB design. It would be nice to see it in action on one of your cars. Also, the housing size is .82AR

Ive seen claims that from what I gather, these off brand turbos seem to hold up in making mid range power, 400-500hp. Im very broke and I will be boosting my bird in the future so Ill be going with them lmao.
...I'd be careful basing an entire setup around the fitment/expectations of one "questionable" item when funds are already low.
I found something way more realistic. Going to get a summit brand turbo. They’re not 1300 dollars but they aren’t crap either.
I have there 28 on my car running shy of 400 and I absolutely kick it's head in. Been on the car 2.5 years and the car is abused beyond what it should be. I'm now bored so upgrading to the 30 and going from 630cc injectors to 875 and I hope the 30 is as reliable as the 28

The Maxspeedingrod turbo is basically the good old T3/T04E converted to a GT30 turbine wheel in a 0.82 vs 0.63 turbine housing. Not sure it would have any real advantage over the classic T3/T04E, maybe only in small engines that is greatly oversized like for example a Honda D16 it may give a slightly better spool

Which turbo are you referring to...one is close to $150, and the other is close to $1000
@@GOAUTOWORKSUA-cam yes on maxpeedingrods website there is a "gt3076" for 150 and another for 1000. One has journal bearing, one is ball bearing

That’s a budget build turbo can’t expect too much from it. I’d rock it for a short period before upgrading. Fake it till u make it lol 😅
Understandable for sure ...only issue being the fittings/flanges needing to be changed over (and spacing)

The eBay Gt30 needs to be pulled apart and change the 270’ thrust bearing to a 360’ bearing
