Despite there only being 2 songs with screams, I loved that there didn't need to be anymore. Every song carried it's emotion through Dustin's vocals and the amazing instrumental work and ended up becoming a masterpiece of an album.

Devolution is like, my new favorite so far. I haven't listened to everything in detail yet but it really is amazing.

This was a fantastic album, but I honestly think they have *thus far* peaked with Vessels. They absolutely have it in them to top it, though.

This very well may be their best album. It mixes the best aspects of Transmissions, Vessels and Divisions perfectly. Every song was incredible. This is why they are my favorite band always. Devolution, Alchemy, Leaving this world behind, Symbiotic and Tunnel-vision have to be my favorites after the first listen
I love how Infected seems to tie together the message from pretty much all the others you mentioned. All of them are 🔥🔥🔥

More like a universe, and each album a galaxy. There is so much complexity to Starset that defining it as a galaxy doesn't feel right

They are pretty freaking popular....I love the surreal ,that surrounds them.
I think it's because it's not industry planted but really just the highest possible quality, real art. It's not made to storm the charts or so, it's made to be felt, to dream away to.
This is now my new favorite Starset album! It's like a mix of Transmissions and Vessels done perfectly!

Disagree 100%. It's divisions 2 electric Boogaloo. Some of these songs were literally cut from divisions. The vocals While nice in this album, are again bogged down by the synth/voice filter they used is almost every song on divisions and it's the same here. The guitar sounds the same in almost every song. Low tuned and djenty, while the vocals stay light and poppy 90% of the time. There's literally 2 songs with screams. The guitar is there to try to make it sound heavier then it is and it always makes me think he's gonna do a killer breakdown but he almost never does the entire album.
IMO doesn't even compare or come close to vessels or transmissions. This album is better then divisions but is overproduced and has the same problems. Hoping this divisions Era is over and they do something better next time closer to vessels.
@@N82k agree 80%. The album is great despite these problems (Icarus and Earthrise are my favourite!), but I miss good ol' vocals and screams from Transmissions especially. Dustin imo sounds equally great without the filter (if not so much better lol) and would be nice to hear him natural-like (?) again

@@N82k To my knowledge, the only song that originally supposed to be on DIVISIONS was INFECTED, every other song is brand new. And of course is sounds similar to DIVISIONS. HORIZONS is a sister album to DIVISIONS. They we're meant to sound similar.
DE-EVOLUTION, ICARUS and DREAMCATCHER blew my mind. As always, an excellent successor for DIVISIONS...

they don't mfin miss, damn. every single song's a banger, good lead-ins/outros too, and the lyrical work across the whole album is imo some of their strongest.
it feels like a mix between the space-heavy transmission&vessels era with the more electronic divisions era and i am HERE for it
Genuinely one of the best bands out there. Starset doesn’t just make music, they make a freaking experience. I’m so pumped for this album!!
Not only a experience, but an experience to learn the truth. The albums are a continuous reveal of the war against Heaven from below. Those who speak the truth become outcasts, those who try to reach the ladder of success are only thrown down into mayhem and eaten by their own
Angels are consistent thematic elements of his songs. Fallen Angel worship. Sympathetic toward their plight. Yet the devil is in the details. Angels fell by their own Accord. People of the world also make choices , some for Good which I agree it's admirable for Starset to reveal the truth in splain english . Although it isn't clear that you also have the choice tone good for the right reasons or good for selfish reasons. I think Starset chooses this path.
Others choose evil choices for evil purposes but you will never defeat their defined destination point for society. You cannot serve Good and evil, Two Masters. One Good and one evil, fallen.

I think alot of people don't understand what he's talking about and just kinda flutter through life without paying attention to details like this. I had a premonition about the message they were trying to get across when I first saw the " My Demons" video. We're basically being lied to on a "galactic scale" and human beings are going to be the last to know, or actually confirm that we've been in contact with several different types of humanoid entities from around the universe and WE are the only planet being lied to about it. Not only that but the choices of technology we've been utilizing for the past century are primitive at best and this is part of their method of control. It's time for us as the human race to stand up and dispatch these cretins that are systematically distorting mankind's perception of reality and slowly killing us off to take over the planet without bringing the wrath of God into the mix.
I love how they've been making little animation loops for the logos of each song, and the fact that they've been making logos for each of their songs as well.

Okay I did not expect it to be so poppy and centered around romance? It almost felt like a breakup album? I CANNOT SAY IT'S BAD BECAUSE STARSET DOESN'T MAKE BAD SONGS. But I wasn't expecting this based on the debrief. I thought it would be more centered around rebellion and anarchy- think Icarus, Infected, and Devolution vibes.
Okay- update after listening from my headphones and not my TV. There was a LOT of instrumentals that my TV speakers failed to pick up. I was listening to totally different songs after switching.
Still overall more pop vibes with the lyrics and softer vocals- but the instruments are very heavy. Heavier than Divisions and gave my Transmission vibes.
Overall impression? Starset doesn't disappoint.

Yes, after a few listens I can definitely say that the instruments (especially the guitars/drums) are a lot heavier than they where in Divisions... Some songs like Otherworldly are more poppy, but I'm fine with it! It's Starset - their songs are always great! 😊
I think a fair few of them can be interpreted both as personal relationship-themed songs as well as wider apocalyptic messaging, which isn't something necessarily new for them. I recall Vessels had a lot of songs like that.
Let's be honest, most of Starset's songs are about (at least vaguely romantic) relationships. More are than aren't.

What an incredible album! The new songs are just phenomenal - heavy instruments, Dustin's beautiful voice, nice breakdowns... PURE AMAZINGNESS! 🔥 It's 5am in Germany, but it was worth it to watch the stream! 😍 STARSET FOREVER!
I found Starset when I lost my roommate/good friend to an unexpected heart attack in February of 2021, he was only 37! This band has saved my life multiple times this year by helping me feel spiritually connected to him and myself, its teaching me to be in the moment and grateful for living
We has humans are but the dust of the earth. Live every moment and live like it is your last...for when you are dead you are dead and all your can reflect upon are your memories you take with you.

My condolences for the loss of your friend and brother. I hope you are doing a bit better today. It will still hurt forever and you can't let go of that .. But hopefully you can remember the good menories, the moments that stand out and remember them for all of them, and try to make some sort of way for you to deal with the loss, grief, the vast array of emotions that can hit you out of nowhere in any given day or any moment. I know that I'm just an internet stranger and don't know you or your life. Just humans supporting humans. Wherever in the world. These experiences are universal and stay in your heart and soul forever.. But hopefully you are doing ok in life. And if you aren't ok.. Then just know that it won't be forever, life so t always be so hard/a co start struggle.. and you will somehow manage to make it through and see some better days. All the best.

This album is another masterpiece, my 2nd favorite after Transmissions. But yeah, this band has something special. Something incredibly rare called pure talent.

I've been here ever since Transmissions, and I've stuck around for the amazing vocals, epic soundscape, meaningful lyrics and story. Every album so far is another world, a place to escape and reflect.
Horizons did not disappoint. Now that I've streamed it a few times, sleep deprived and happy as ever, I just want to say: Thank you. Thank you for the music that you create. You have made my days better time and time again, and I dwell in the universe that you so beautifully have crafted.
Beautiful Description
Okay, so I'm just imagining that every song after The Breach is about the father and son both joining the resistance.
The son is enraptured by the rebels, so is the father, but he still grieves his wife, wishing he too could just disappear.
The son rises fast in the group, meanwhile the father is worried that like Icarus, he will crash and burn.
But the boy loves the freedom he feels outside of the New Easts control, even falling in love with a member of the rebels.
All the while, a wedge between the two of them deepens.
The idea of just running away from the war is raised, and although it's appealing, they stay.
The resistance discover a method of breaking the New Easts control, but it comes at a cost... It drives people insane.
But the far more extreme rebels still see this as liberation.
It's at this point that the rebels start to split apart, the father and son too find themselves divided.
The father wants to finally leave, but the son wants to stay and fight, but not entirely for the extremist.
The son's lover is somewhere along the side of the more extreme fighters, and convinces him to stay.
The father goes to a carnival, one where he participates in a disappearing act, lamenting on everything.
The son meanwhile is a devoted to the cause and the endless endeavour.
The father soon finds love working at the carnival, a woman whom he finds to be a member of the resistance.
The resistance hack the televisions of the New East/West, the father declaring war on the New East and BMI.
At the end, the resistance launch an attack one which basically sends the New East/West into anarchy.
The people have been "Infected", and the main players have a realisation...
They were no better than BMI and the New East, they're the bad guys now.
THE END? For now at least...

From start to finish this has got to be one of the, if not, the best album I have ever listened to. Being there live from the beginning and enjoying it with the other 5k+ people was truly outstanding. Starset definitely exceeded the expectations of this album and I can't wait to listen to it for hours on end!

I’m absolutely blown away by this album. I never thought anything could amount to Vessels, until this. Now I’m wondering how much better and creative Starset can possibly get (not really, because this and Vessels are a thousand times better than good enough for me). They nailed this album so well with its storytelling and emotion, making every second worth listening to and no song worth skipping. Man, I was already addicted to Vessels, now I’ve got two albums I’ll never stop listening to. I don’t know how much more of this amazing music I’ll be able to take.
This band is truly special. I don't know why im so excited and emotional for this album. Im going through a moment of stress right now, so theyre a distraction. I can't wait for future videos and acoustics with the songs.
Am I the only one who appreciates how smoothly the videos for the pre-released tracks are incorporated into this stream?

It is very rare for me to like every song on a single album but STARSET makes it so easy! There is not a single song I wouldn't like. And those outros are just an amazing touch!

I've been listening to you since 2017, thanks for 4 EXCELLENT albums. Hello from Ukraine.
This album is phenomenal. It blends to perfection the sound created in DIVISIONS with the writing style or Vessels. Despite being slightly unsettled by the way songs transition between each other, there is no skipper track in HORIZONS, each one bringing something more to the previous one. Each song breaks me and puts me back in pieces in the same time. Lyrically, the themes are transcending and speak to me 100%, musically, the pop aspect grows more and more without ever leaving metal behind. Even though nothing will ever top Vessels, HORIZONS is really close to touching the sky. I am touched, amazed and seduced. Incredible job as always ❤️🚀

I simply cannot believe how awesome this album is. I don't know how you guys are able to make such masterpieces every few years like this especially since every album has such a different sound from each other one. You guys truly are my favorite band and I cannot wait to see you in Georgia in a couple weeks!
Vessels was always my favorite Starset album, but this one is just on another level! 🔥
For real! They did amazing with both the slow and faster paced songs. Annihilated Love got me more emotional than Perfect Machine and Diving Bell, which was amazing.
