Gumiho is the new TY on TvT. He still struggle against other races but hey, even Serral cannot control the ZvZ match up too well, it’s safe to say nobody is good at all 3 match ups.
Maru would still lose the fight in his main anyway with the SCV repairing from Gumiho, but it shouldn't have been this badly. He miscontrol the battle so hard by controlling his vikings to focus fire on Gumiho's BCs when they were out of the battle. Maru's BCs were left undefended against those vikings with no fire support. He also stuttered step his vikings a little bit in the front as they were chasing a BC, resulting in them soaking damage over his leftover BCs. Without SCVs, the fight should be in Maru favor cuz he had more BCs to soak damage while his vikings were doing the work over Gumi with inferior BC count. Fun fact, a 3/3 viking can kill itself in the full hp in 5 volleys, but it becomes 25 volleys in order to kill a full-hp 3/3 BC. So having the right balanced between BCs and Vikings is crucial.

yeah, I heard that Maru has repeatedly re-watched that battle over and over trying to figure out what went wrong for him. I agree with your view that Maru wasted too many Viking shot on the BCs for overkill, the idea of having BC is to attract the Viking shot and having your Vikings to take down their Vikings, Maru messed up his execution.
@@tigera6Yes, sometimes it's hard to figure out when you didn't have the full details as a player, so viewing the battle from the spectator's pov is better to figure out. IMHO, Maru had the right number of vikings to one-shot those BCs (25), so he should have had advantage after he cleared all those BCs without overkilling them (Gumi's 40+ vikings overkill BCs too much). But then he miscontrol it, which resulted in his vikings not attacking Gumi's vikings all the time.
