Martin phos brnz. And Eric Clapton Accous. Strings.
The new one was more clear sounding but 6 month was good too but à bit less clear thanks man !
100% agree. It's JUST noticeable.
Awesome demo! I use Elixir Polyweb acosutic 11-52 strings on my Taylor. My Taylor plays brightly but I actually am curious of these XS strings since I used D'addario ages ago.
These last longer than the Elixirs I used to use! They really retain feel, tone, and tuning stability.
I'll try the Electrics too ThX !
The electric strings are fantastic
Check out Stringjoy. I started off with an acoustic set, and I have now replaced the strings on every one of my gtrs acoustic and electric with stringjoy. They are a little pricey, but I don’t need to change them as often.
I do enjoy the fact that you can get custom sets from them. Great customer service as well.
Zach what bridge pins are on your Martin? I just got a 000-18 and was thinking of switch them out for something else, potentially bone or tusq.
These were stock! Must be Martin brand.
Just curious, how is the coating after 6 months? Because I'm allergic to nickel and coated strings are the only strings I've not tried.
The coating on the fretboard side stays very strong! It doesn't wear as much if at all as you'd think. The bridge side will slightly flake from heavy striking and usage but to be fair I use this guitar atleast 10+ hours a week teaching lessons alone so I play more than the average musician. And that takes months to happen.
Very little difference ! Great Demo ThX !
Thanks for watching!
Are you using phosphor bronze or 80-20, and which gauge?
The XS strings only come in Phosphor Bronze!! Using 11s on my Martin.
No, they come in 80/20 also. I have some.
Felt that the new set rang out a bit more for strumming & fingerstyle. Not by much though
Yeah it’s very subtle for sure. They’re really solid strings.
What song is this? Skins like staind
Just put a progression together for the demo!! Not based on anything in particular 😄
I'm a fan of the D'Addario XS set, but there's no way you think the old set sounds exactly the same as the new set - no way at all. Don't oversell it. I'm using a phone speaker and there's a clear difference. It's okay to say you don't really mind the difference - my set still has some brilliance after 2 months - but don't say they sound exactly the same
I don't believe I'm over selling it. I'm also not being paid or sponsored in any way by D'Addario. If you compare the XS string to their standard base level strings the difference is night and day for longevity. These retain their tone, feel and brightness for months of normal use. The other set would die on me in 2-4 weeks of normal teaching.
Of course it's not "exactly" the same, but it's close enough where it does save $ in the long run.
@@ZackSeifMusic My point is that you could've said this in the video. What you just said now is a better conclusion. Your video can be very helpful to those deciding which set to buy on a tight budget and is best not simplified in conclusion
Erine ball
I really like the RPS strings that Petrucci uses. Which type and gauge are you using?
Slinky cobalt 9-42
Nothing like a fresh set of strings and underwear 😮
100% agreed haha
Nobody can tell another player what is "best".
If you're hunting for "The Sound" -- you need to go with what YOU like.
Whatever your ears an hands tell you... go that direction!.
I mean "best" as in they last the longest, feel and sound fresh the longest, and break the least. In my opinion that makes them objectively the best string you can buy.
