I see that Kevin is back to his Old Tricks.
Welcome back Marty.
When the world needed him most, he returns! Good to have you back Marty!
Those emails ! Brilliant 😅
Marty the magnificent!…Matchbox restoration to the masses!…glad to see you !
18:00 that’s an interesting email inbox 😂😂
Ha Ha! - You are the first one to comment!! - I like to include the odd easter egg here and there!
@@MartysMatchboxMakeovers thanks! I hope you make a full recovery 😂
🤣🤣🤣
Marty it’s awesome to have you release another video. Hope all is well with you and yours.
You can tell Marty works with his hands . They look all chewed up and damaged . I hope he's proud of it because working with your hands is getting rarer and rarer .
Have you watched the episode where someone has suggested he take care of his nails? He does so in true Marty style - it's hilarious!
@@jameswaters5133 I'd forgotten about that one. His day at the 'spa'. 😂
Love D-Type, still need one for my collection…maybe next show.
Great to see you back in action. It was also nice to see Kevin up to his usual troublesome antics as well. Poor Smudge got the raw end of the deal.
I watch for the restoration, I watch again for Kevin and smudge! Cheers to all three!
It's so good to have you back Marty
So good to have you back Marty, that Jag... lovely model. That sort of car in reality was beyond my aspirations as a boy, when six or seven I saw a bright red E-type in Henley-on-Thames parked by the river. It was SO beautiful. It epitomised the power of that marque and I've lusted after them ever since.
I had one just like this when I was kid. Thanks for bringing back a flood of wonderful childhood memories!
Kevin impossible as always! 😂 Good to have you back Marty!
Marty, it’s always fun watching you restore all these beautiful little cars with such extraordinary expertise & excellence. How’s Kevin?? Any hijinks we can see?? We love you & Kevin!!!
I had one of these 60 some years ago.. Beautiful to see one again👍.
So very happy to see you back at it. You're the one who sent me down the resto/custom rabbit hole. [@TinyCarFanatic] I haven't got an airbrush so all I''m using are spray cans for repaints and I had the same issue with the paint coming out too thick. The solution I found is to heat the cans in a sink of hot water (just from the tap) about halfway up the can. Leave them in for 10ish minutes (or out in the hot sun for a half hour.) The heat helps the paint atomize much better and gives excellent results. I also started with a can of the same CitrusStrip you used here with mediocre results. After a while I tossed the CitrusStrip in the bin and bought some paint stripping gel. Your channel was the very first channel that I subbed. Love your work! Cheers!
PS: Watch that Kevin, I don't think he likes Smudge. (My mum has a puppers named Smudge)
I checked out your twitter page - Some amazing work you've done there!! - I love the close up shots with the out of focus scenery they look real!
@@MartysMatchboxMakeovers Thank you! Just started the Twitter account a month ago so only my more recent stuff. I decided to "give it a go" on IG 2 years ago, then TikTok & YT last year (although my YT is growing at a snails pace) Honestly, there's a fair bit of inspiration that I got from your work. The resto you did on the Studebaker Lark Wagonair was the actual spark that lit the flame as I had one that badly needed a resto and you literally showed me the way. I appreciate you heaps and wish you all the best!
Have to admit, I also thought the idea of the hole punches sounded a cunning idea! (I was cutting out small circles of plasticard.) But as you found, the results were vert hit and miss. What you use as a punching table is crucial, I tried metal, plastic, wood and finally leather on a hard surface provided the best level of flexibility to allow cutting through your medium while being spongy enough to support the cut so as to minimize deformation. Trial and error. Excellent video, thank you.
Good to see you back!
Mighty Fine Cat Marty
So glad you’ve uploaded some new episodes and with Kevin too! Great job as always.
Love smudge!😻I have 4 rescue kitties myself
MMM has a new video.
"I'm happy with that."
Nice work Marty - great to see you back (and Kevin too)
Drop everything & start your video. I am with coffee at 7 a.m. here in Maine. I love my cat Eugen to bits also. I know your yard so good for your new kitten.
Hope you like it Daniel. Smudge gets a mouse a day at the moment which is a good thing out here in the countryside.
Good to see you back Marty great restoration
Thankyou so much for watching!
Always great to see you Marty!
I love this paradise song. Wrapped a mountain bike up to it. ... cracked my pelvis.
What a great comeback Marty! A beautiful new addition to the family, a fantastic model car and the one and only Kevin; oh, and you of course lol.
It’s been a while Marty, good to have you back. Hopefully we won’t have to wait as long until the next one! Great restoration as usual.
Nice to see you back, Marty
brilliant job Marty. Great to see you back again
It's good to see you back. I was getting worried about you. I guess being a gentleman farmer takes up more time than I thought.
I learn so much from you and your modeling work. THANK YOU.
A beautiful masterpiece!! Loved the koala and cat feud!! Let´s see how this turns out in the future!! 😀
I had this same car, as a child. I was just describing it to my wife a few days ago.
This makeover is on par with the Beetle restoratiosn you did a few years back;seemingly simple, and with a great resul
Welcome back Marty(and Kevin). That turned out beautifully.
Yes... a MMM video, welcome back fella
Hi Marty, Nice makeover, love the green , number looks ok, stay safe All the best Brian 😃
Another great job, Marty! And one of my favorites! For decals, try getting a candle warmer. Set a bowl on it, add a sponge, and enough water to saturate and just come up to the top of the sponge. The heat helps to soften and let film release, and you do not have the risk of film curling or chasing around the water.
Beautiful green. Very good job. Awesome. 👍
Congratulations to adopting "Smudge", he's a very cute boy. Reminds me of our beloved late cat "Merlin" who looked almost similar. By the way: It's so good to see and hear you again. Missed the relaxed videos you share. 👍😀
Glad to have you back in action. Keep it up.
Excellent! 👍
Welcome back Marty. Thanks for this entertaining video. Love this D Type Jaguar, which won the 24 hours of Le Mans in the year when I was born, 1955. Unfortunately the winner, Mike Hawthorn was involved in the fatal crash that took the lives of 84 persons, which did not prevent him and Jaguar to win the race. I have three Matchbox models of this car: The Lesney 41a and 41b, plus the Mattel Matchbox one that they just issued in their 70th anniversary series, in the matt grey color plus orange stripes. Your new kitty is adorable.
Moin from the North Sea 👋🏻
(Actually good morning, but we say that here at all times of the day, very similar to the Australian G'day 😉)
Well... excellent work, I can't say otherwise 🤩 Classic racing cars are and remain something very special. The axle suspension repair is a masterpiece and the elegant british racing green.... simply WOW
Somehow I'm not sure, Smudge is responsible for the "mess" on your workbench....
KEVIN 🐨 was nearby...🤣
All in all... Marty at his best 👍🏼🤩
I really hope we see you more often now.
Thanks so much for sharing 🙏🏼 definitely a thumbs up from me for this 👍🏼
To you, your family and the team behind the scene a good start into the new week and stay safe and sound.
Greetings from the DCcoB (Die-Cast crazy old Bloke) at the lighthouse end of the Elbe river and keep up your awesome work, mate 😉
And of course, a special shoutout to the most koalafied prankster in Australia.
Go KEVIN 👍🏼🐨
😎👍🏼🇦🇺✌🏼🇩🇪👍🏼🤠
Green.... Greens nice!
Wonderful just to see you, Marty! Aloha from your subscribers in Hawai'i!
First. Nice to see you again. Been a while. I've used Tamiya paint alot. I love how it sprays. Almost has a Fog Effect. Maybe your can was bad so.e how. Glad your back. Again. Oh yeah, get Kevin help. He's a sick dude
😂 I think it might be too late for Kevin. He's bad to the bone!
Really nice old car style!
I just came across your channel faster a few years yesterday, and here is another one, cool!
Great to get my Marty fix! Brilliant as always!
Was this step by step reminder video for our benefit or yours Marty Lovely to see a new makeover from you Keep them coming
You can get products to recondition typewriter and printer platens, I wonder if that would work on the tyres?
If you were to use locking plier, such as Vice Grips to hold the axles, it may make it easier.
Marty thank goodness you are still alive I was starting to wonder. I have really missed you putting out videos lately. Please come back real soon? I just love all that you do. Take care and thanks for this fantastic video. You and your wife take care and slap Kevin for me. lol Just kidding.
Good to see ya back sir!
Great job
you're back!
NICE Monitor Marty!
I'd like to know where he got it..would love one too.
Glad to see you back !!!!!
I'm Guessing Kevin is Jealous of your new Cat? That Koala gets himself into so much trouble as always.
Yay! Good things are worth waiting for, or in this case, great things.
Cool 👍
Excellent work on the rebuild did a great job.
G'day Marty! Welcome back mate 👍
Poor Smudge, Kevin did him dirty, jealousy is a terrible thing 😂😂
Roland the Headless Jaguar Driver
Shout out to Ken Bolt... I'm ALSO from Marietta, Georgia ❤
Swietny filmik .....polecam tez naszego Paula Restorera
I didn’t know you made that phone stand out of legos haha cool Marty. Great vid
if you put on the liquid floor wax over the chrome it wont dull when you touch it,
Muuuuuyyyyy buen trabajo, un placer ver tus videos saludos desde Cordoba Agentina🤜🏻🤛🏻🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷🙋🏻♂️
Poor cat. He doesn't know you don't mean it.
I never thought it would matter, but them really old rubber wheels - if you put them in the microwave... seconds at a time.... fluffs them back up... like a lorry tyre overheating goes shiny before it pops... you make them hot enough to shine. And they are rejuvenated by the heat.
Kevin ! You bastard !
Marty! 😸 WHERE does one get a gallon pail of Lergo bricks? lol. Link? 😸👍 Smudge is adorable 😸
Hey Cat, glad to see you are still around. I hope you liked my cat segments as well as everything else!
@@MartysMatchboxMakeovers Yup, over 1K subs now too. So... can You link me to a bucket of Legos? lol.
Smudge behaves so well, didnt cross the theshold of the work area. How a cat that good need be rescued.... :/
8:35 if you had the kettle on anyway you should have made tea :)
A lot of work for that car. Please educate me. I thought cats were bad for Australia. Several of the hunters from there shoot them on sight. But it's okay to have one as a pet?
Why would cats be bad for Australia? I think you are thinking of rabbits. Rabbits get shot on sight.
He’s right. Google it. Cats are not an indigenous species to Australia and are wreaking havoc with the unique wildlife there.
Very nice restoration. I hope you will be doing more videos without so much time between them. I love watching your restorations. BTW you were mean to the cat. Kevin Snuck in and 💩 on your desk
Time to get rid of Kevin over Smudge! 😹😹😹
A long time in coming but worth the wait. Lovely restoration, Marty.
Welcome, Marty! You have been missed!
Poor Smudge!
Pro Tip: You might consider some imperial sized hole punches as alternatives to your metric set. Matchbox would have been using imperial sizes when this model was launched. 9/32” is approximately 7.16mm which is close to the 7.2mm you mentioned.
Cracking restoration as always!
"A year ago....."
Cats always 💩 in the same place, BTW....
🤗👍👌
Hi Marty,
Another great job as always !
I was wondering if at some stage that you would do a video showing all of the models that you have done over the years ??
Just made a cup of tea and now looking forward to this gem. Hope you are well Marty.
Yes, I am well and hopefully back in the saddle! :)
That inbox closeup had me in stitches. Well done, Marty. :D Glad to see you back.
I never noticed that until you pointed it out - thanks
YES! Uncle Marty is back! The kids and I are happy to see your latest. Kevin is a hit!
Hilarious emails, I was howling :D
17:58 for reference ... hit "pause" for a good chuckle!
Kevin & the cat.....funny. We love your vids....
Some dodgy looking emails in your inbox. 🤣🤣🤣
Can't believe Kevin did that to smudge ... lol great to see you are back missed your make overs . Can't wait for the next one . And keep an eye on Kevin that little bugger
Looks great, Marty. Glad to see you are back.
Was just talking about you yesterday and that you were missed. Great to see you back and another amazing restoration!
Omg !!! The man has returned fantastic to see you back on the UA-cam ship Marty you've been hugely missed.
This was my first Matchbox model given to me on a visit to the UK in 1957. Long gone now. Great to see a restored version.
Welcome back Mr Martin Matchbox!!!
