  • Dan Novak and Ashley Thompson host today's Learning English show.
First: Airplane passengers have described a terrifying incident Friday when a piece of the aircraft blew out early in the flight out of Portland, Oregon. Mario Ritter reports.
Next: Jill Robbins reports about a 300 year-old factory in Madrid, Spain that makes cloth products like carpets and tapestries.
Then: It's time for the LE Education Report. A new report says young people’s English ability in many countries has decreased while working adults are showing increases in English proficiency. Gena Bennett tells all about the findings. After, she joins Dan Novak in the studio for a chat about the report.
And, finally, we present the LE Lesson of the Day. John Russell shares a report from Faith Pirlo about lab-grown jewels. Then, John teaches about the word "gem."
Dan and Ashley close the show.

It would be nice if we have photos of parts on airplane which are blew out to study vocabulary easier.
