जिसके बाद सन 1949 में बोहर राजेंद्र सिंह के जन्मदिन 14 सितंबर पर भारत की संविधान सभा ने हिंदी को नवगठित राष्ट्र की आधिकारिक भाषा के रूप में अपनाया लिया। हालांकि तब केवल निर्णय को स्वीकारा गया था, यह भारतीय संविधान का एक हिस्सा तो 26 जनवरी, 1950 को बना।
अंग्रेजी भाषा के बढ़ते चलन और हिंदी की अनदेखी को रोकने के लिए हर साल 14 सितंबर को देशभर में हिंदी दिवस मनाया जाता है। आजादी मिलने के दो साल बाद 14 सितंबर 1949 को संविधान सभा में एक मत से हिंदी को राजभाषा घोषित किया गया था और इसके बाद से हर साल 14 सितंबर को हिंदी दिवस के रूप में मनाया जाने लगा💛✏️📒📝🇮🇳🚩⚔️
