Isn't "Rain" usually the Trivium song most loved by Metalcore fans due to its breakdown? Could be a good candidate for the next DOLT? (Also lol at that acronym)
He has checked that one out. To my memory he wasnt really of fan of it. Vocally i believe. He enjoyed the instrumentals on the song. May have to wait for awhile and have him hear it again. Sometimes it takes a couple times on a song.

You need to check out Shattering the Skies Above. Top to bottom probably their best song and encompasses all the great parts of what makes trivium trivium

I always feel that you can tell which side of Metalcore you land on based on whether you like solos (metal) or breakdowns (core) more. You definitely are more into the core side.
I've started to appreciate breakdowns more now, but not when they are too slow. Literally the opposite of a solo :D

That massive bend when the solo gets melodic at 5:00 is my favourite.
Honestly, I found this hard to engage with at all as a reaction, though. It felt like you were busy pandering to fans and not saying much about the song.
