I think a Legion Crisis Protocol would run out of mainstream characters with its first core box and one or two expansions. They'd be into the secondary characters before long. It's much more of a soldier based media in general
One of the thing I’m hoping for is that they eventually move on to specific media forms like games or books. It would be so fun to have a Cal Kestis model or Starkiller as a playable model
I've been giving this some thought, and maybe battled forces are there new approach to legion. It give greater leverage to create themed lists so people can focus down into what motivates them and play the way they want to. It also allows greater diversity in their selling model as you can re-release the same mins with only a amended rules to keep R&D costs down, but new sculpture in the box so even people not into the battle forces might spend their money on them. All that said, I didn't know what Amg didn't resculpt the recent battle forces unless it's a question of development time and when they wanted to get them to the market place
Yeah maybe that's how they want the game to be. It would have been nice to resculpt but works basically obsolete everything in stores so I can see why they wouldn't
I agree AMG doesn’t seem to care as much about Legion as CP. How long has it been, and Legion still doesn’t have a dedicated website? CP is front and center on AMG’s website, while Legion is hidden behind obscure menu tabs. Legion does suffer from “tokenitus” but I understand why it was designed that way for status indicating and such. Although CP is a very token heavy game as well. Would be nice to have some way of designing the game without the use of so many tokens, it just clutters up and causes organization anxiety. I don’t mind using a few different tokens, but when you have 10 or more different ones for all the different statuses it’s too much.
Nice analyses. I've also that same strange feeling when I heard AMG talk about "new SW games". But in the end, the sales of products will dictate the directions. Do you have any idea of how much WS legion is selling right now, i mean, compared to other popular major IP wargames and skirmish games?
@@TabletopOddity gotcha. i think thats a snake cam. i want one. im about to start this channel and start working on my horror movie. i feel that camera would give some great shots for a creature feature.
I know that, I used to think they would run out but they obviously aren't going to, the only real issue is people not knowing most of the new stuff on average but Legion fans probably do
I think, if AMG is going to keep Legion, they're going to come out with a complete overhaul. Even enough so to call it a new game perhaps. Same minis, scale, options etc, but a redo on mechanics. In my opinion Legion outgrew it's mechanics awhile ago, primarily the defense dice. They piled on offensive abilities etc, but on a unit that has white defense with no surge and a below average roll. Whole unit gone to a mediocre stacked attack roll. AMG being geared towards mini games probably sees how limiting the system is. Mirror attack and add black defense and adjust the ratios and suddenly you can balance things a little better. Moving away from the cards would be beneficial as well. I do see some value in them, but it's much easier to fix mistakes or nerf that which needs nerfed when it's not on a physical media. I could go on for days, but I'm hopeful AMG doesn't boot it.
@@TabletopOddity X-Wing 2.5 has pretty much killed the huge following that X-Wing 2 had, but it’s not awful. They just added missions and objectives no one really wanted it, and handled the PR side of things terribly- like it, or get out, was almost what the AMG staff member literally said.
