I used to boondock around lake isabella and keyesville for 5 months in 2022, that guy is actually a REGULAR! I always thought he was strange but he would always pull over and do some rituals. Also set random fires, it’s actually funny to see that he is still there doing the same thing. If you guys ever return to lake isabella I recommend staying in Hanning Flat or Stine Cove as it’s free and much less people around.
Kinda ironic the guy who was floating over a stream chanting "light as a feather" is now freaked out by a guy spinning around chanting "the spirit world doesn't like weed" 😂😂
You guys made the right call. This seems to happen to me a lot, where I can literally be a mile from everyone and some crazy person (or oblivious) will pull up right next to me to set up camp.
Guys, if you can get to Barstow, ca theres a campground near by in the desert called SawTooth canyon off of hwy 15 and 247, its on blm land, pit toilets, free for 14 days. Wife and I go there often, lots of hiking and riding trails in the area. It would be neat to see you guys there in the vids. keep it up, I like your style. Edit, did I hear king of the hammers? You're close.
With that guy-in-black "Camp fire Tales"/ "Jeepers Creepers" came to my mind. I would have packed my bags too, ....wouldn't want to spent the night there, knowing he was around. And calling the police, well...I'm not sure. For one thing, he'd know that you had called the cops on him, so.....even if he had left, or he was arrested, I wouldn't like to stay there anyway. You did good.
if its leaking out the front of the motor common problem is the fuel bowl drain little yellow turn handle on the back oif the fuel bowl known for failing in the cold ! like a 20 dollar fix if its leaking out the back of the motor down the passenger side its the fuel rail in the valley both easy to fix!!!
That’s we we thought to looking it up. Hoping we can just get away with the fuel bowl drain . Looks easier to get to that than passenger side fuel line.
Glad you guys did a “Bug Out”!!! The dude definitely was super sketchy and probably high on who knows what. Stay safe and we’ll see you in the next video.
When I was in Guam if you were in line at The Bunny Market and did not have a can of SPAM they knew you were a tourist, lol! Tapatio and Valentina either at Walmart or dollar stores is cheap and great! Great video and WoW what a creeper in the van, lol!
I also live in a 2018 Northstar 650, and have 3 bikes including an Ebike. I also carry a Kawasaki KLR 650 for bigger adventures. Maybe I will see you somewhere down the road.
i camped at that same spot last year. On the second day, someone parked right next to me. Then a large group of rowdy guys parked nearby and partied for 3 days, yelling, playing loud music, shooting guns and being Aholes. Not to judge, but the central valley is very close and there are a lot of "odd folks nearby. That area is a party spot for a lot of them. It is such a beautiful spot, though. You just need to be ready to shift spot if some knuckleheads camp nearby. There are some cool hotsprings nearby as well.
Loretta the lunch marm! " Get you another piece honey!" We're new perscribers . We like your style! I'm pretty sure that guy was Ned. The price of bud just hit a new low so came out there to finally get rid of that pesky spider that took over his van. ( Down by the river!) Looking forward to your next adventure! Take care out thar! 🤠🧑🦰🌲🌲 🎼
Loretta even comes with the built in coal miners daughter backstory 😂. It must be free wherever he’s getting it for the quantity he had! Editing the next video out on some blm land as we speak !!!
Which diesel heater are you guys having success with. I’ll probably get one soon. Thanks. Maybe you can return to the river someday when ritual man has gone.
It’s a 5kw 12v diesel heater. The model is xmz d2. It looks like all the 125$ diesel heaters on Amazon. The model number doesn’t come up with a direct match but visually it looks like all the other 5kw Chinese heaters. It does have the upgrade Bluetooth remote which is awful nice cranking the heater on and off from bed.
05:18 I quit forecasting long ago. These days, we walk over to the whack-job, give them some face-time. We engage in neighborly banter, let the whack know they are not invisible. . Usually, the whack picks-up on our vibe... ... and usually bails. . We usually travel with our long-time caravan chums. As you might imagine about exclusively boondockers, we can pretty much take care of 'issues'. . And occasionally, we meet somebody interesting. And occasionally, they are invited to join us.
2003, we built our ExpeditionVehicle on a 1996 Ford CF8000 commercial truck. GVWR : 29,000#. Weight across the scale : 14,000#. Cargo capacity : about seven ton. . We carry water in five-gallon stainless-steel retired Pepsi kegs. Our standard load is seven, a total of thirty-five gallons. We have room for several more kegs. . In the toy-hauler I fabricated on a similar commercial chassis, we can easily carry a couple-three dozen more kegs. In theory, we can do four months without re-fill. . As you probably picked-up, we tend to avoid civilization. . [edited to add] These kegs are engineered to be pressurized. A quick puff from the 12v bicycle-tire pump, and water flows from its attached kitchen-sink sprayer designed for a stand-still house. Advantages: * modular -- take as few or as many as we need * divisible -- some can go to town for re-fill while the others stay in-use in camp * a keg can go to the picnic-table or campfire * a keg can be loaned to a caravan chum * if one gets stanky, the others remain in-service, and can clean the problem-child. . An aside: One of my hobbies is walking wrecking-yards aka 'dismantlers'. After the aluminum skin is recycled off a factory RecreateVehicle, the innerds are exposed. Invariably, the fresh-water tank is translucent. Invariably, several inches of muck permanently resides inside those tanks... ... illuminating the need for a series of filters on the white RecreateVehicle water-hose, so incoming water is filtered prior to storing aboard.
Good call and leaving the area with the sketchy dude. I would have still phone him in. I’ve always been leary of sketchy people while camping. What do you guys rely on for protection in case someone tries to either harm you and or rob you?
15:18 We carry a tool called a 'sill-cock'. These have odd-ball appendages for commercial water outlets. . We also carry a 2'/.7m length of white RecreateVehicle garden-hose. One end mates to our 25'/7m white RecreateVehicle filler hose. . The other end is a cut-off without a fitting. That slides over a spigot, and is secured with a hose-clamp from the auto-parts store. . Of course, we carry a spritz bottle of bleach. We spritz the faucet and handle, scrub, rinse, and hit it again. . !!! WARNING !!! We never acquire water at a dump-station. The likelihood of a RVer dumping their tanks, then handling the faucet [shivers in revulsion]?
Hey guys! You guys are most likely camped out near me. I'm in Apple Valley CA. Enjoy your stay in the desert. Been watching you guys for a long time but I'm disabled so you won't find me on your patreon. Sorry, if I could, I would.
Great choice for the cafeteria worker! "Miss Brisket, you are smokin' cute/sweet/accurate today!" (appreciatedly, Miss Brisket piles extra helpings of pinto-beans]
So glad I found this channel and sad that you had to take jobs this has become my favorite camping channel. Screwtube must not like you because with all the videos I watched on van/car camping/life I only found your channel this month.
Clearly that guy's van was possessed by evil spirits, who obviously hate weed, and so he bought a few hundred kilos and burned it in there to smoke them out. I don't know what the big mystery is. I do that all the time! ;-)
I would’ve just walked over & asked him if everything was okay. That’s the problem today. People will stand there with a phone taking video & not helping..
Well if he was having a mental health crisis or suffering from dementia he could probably use some help. I wasn’t there, but I’ve worked in emergency services for over 18 years & would’ve at least checked on the situation..
@@Valco458 it seems unreasonable to expect us to approach a random person that is not in a right state mentally, for whatever reason, to offer…assistance? I’ve now started an interaction that he did not want, otherwise he would have approached us. Am I going to ask him if he is on/off medications? Am I going to ask if he has been diagnosed with an mental illnesses? Am I chancing that he doesn’t think we are demons as soon as we walk up? What do we do if he puts hands on us? Could that situation have been avoided if we left him alone? Am I calling the cops if he doesn’t seem mentally stable? He’s not doing anything illegal. What are they supposed to do? We watched him for 3 hours to ensure he wasn’t setting his van on fire. We waved at him and he didn’t wave back. Had the license plate written down ready if anything did happen. Ritually burning evidence to get high maybe? 😆

"I'm not going to gamble on somebody that's burning stuff for the spirit world." Smart... very smart 😁
Spooky sasguatch up on the left side of that ridge at 22:06.

We have been researching that area on google maps! We may give it a shot ! Thanks for the suggestions !
The KOH race is at the end of January but there will be people running the trails over Christmas. But it's not warmer there.

I thought the same thing
Maybe he was hot boxing. Weed is good for the spirit.
We have that same generator, but I only use it with propane, dual fuel.
He was wasting it if hot boxing . He never got in the van😂. We haven’t tried ours on propane yet but need to!
