How can this be good for the underlying hair and scalp?

As long as proper maintenance is done, no damage is done to the scalp or bio hair. The system itself is anti fungal and anti bacterial. The scalp is treated with a scalp mask during removal to rebalance ph and deep clean the scalp.
Is it itchy? My scalp gets itchy around the roots b/c of oil build up with just tape extensions.

Can one take shower after the extension and how long can it be left on without hurting the scalp?
If a person is turning to hair extensions due to loss of hair..... I can imagine this will only make the situation worst. It's not healthy for scalp or natural hair. It looks amazing but I can only imagine what it will look like after week or two.

This is like huge tape in, looks like it's damaging to client own hair.
This is very different than a tape in system. This doesn’t rely on the hair to hold the unit, it’s bonded to the scalp so no tension is on the bio hair.

How long does it last ?
The application lasts 3-5 weeks, and the unit itself lasts 9-12 months and can be repaired to last longer. I have clients that have 1 unit last 2.5 years with proper care.
