- Deepti Chavan is a patient advocate and an MDR-TB survivor based in Mumbai.This is the story of her fight against TB.
She was diagnosed with TB when barely 19 and extensively misdiagnosed. She took treatment for six years and underwent 2 major surgeries to get her affected lung removed.
She now writes on patient related issues, gaps within TB care and the broader health system. She also counsels people affected with TB and talks about my experiences of surviving TB on various platforms. She was featured as a survivor in the famous talk show Satyamev Jayate and has written extensively for national and international publications. She continues to talk about her experiences on radio, print and tv to inspire patients to fight and never give up !

Feeling for this young girl. God bless you. My mother is admitted in hospital right now with Spine TB .She has got back pain & compression of spinal cord causing bowel & bladder dysfunction & no movements due to bacteria destroyed some bones .Now surgery is due next week & a drug therapy has been started.She is in so much pain .We are hopeful she will recover InshaAllah.

Facing so much of difficulties, lots of pain you fought against all those odds.

It's just 3 days ago I have started my medication, but at the age 24 where people are looking for their career.

Really motivational.. I am suffering from bone TB.. This is my first month of treatment and doctor has advised me to take medicine for around 8-10 months.. I also lost my weight right now my weight is 30 kg . Taking inspiration from you ma'am. I hope I will be fine soon.

Congrats. I myself had bone tb and I was very close to get paralysed. I'm so happy I took treatment before it was too late. It's been 6 years and I feel lot better than ever. I'll never forget my sleepless nights and my pain. But I'm so happy to fully recover from this.

I know the pain. I was also diagnosed with TB when i was just starting my career. Now I am fully cured and I am a trekking guide and a cyclists.

i got diagnosed with TB just 3 days back . This is inspirational, educational and scary to listen to at the same time . I will definately get myself checked again for which form of TB I have .

@@thinlesdorjay1253 Hi, first it was Chest XRay, then Ct scan Thorax , finally it was ATB Genexpert (sputum specimen).

@@thinlesdorjay1253 i am taking 4 medicines. 1 doze of pan D 600mg and R Cinex 600 each before breakfast . and i am taking 1 doze of Combutol 1000 and 2 doze of Pyzina 750 after breakfast. But do not take these dozes because my TB is medium in test . Generally medication is less than what I am taking . Please consult your doc

Your vedios motivate me too much when I was suffering from this problem till 14 month. same feeling each word melt my heart .U face this situation their is lack of mental support u can't share ur feelings with anyone even they more upset 😊. but now I am also completely cure and I also a part of TB champion team .

My mom is a TB survivor at the age of 55. Initial 3 months of treatment was tough.

Men is for income .the tb held up the family income, govt should allow RS 10,000 per month to each patient. 2.span of time to take medicine must be one monthe maximum.

He is allready diabetic from 15 years...And wo apna diabetes insulin & oral medicine se controller krte the.. with strick diet.... Diabetes ke wajah se unki body already itne jyada healthy nhi thi...Ab upr se ye....Hm log bht jyada tention me h....Me bahut preshan hu please meri help kijiye.....Koi guidance de dijiye please...jise diabetes ke sath tb ka kuchh experience ho...🙏🙏
You should know that Diabetics are at higher risk of getting TB and tight Diabetes control is necessary for TB treatment. You should ideally take him to a Diabetologist and take their help in that. Agar Diabetes control nahi hua to TB drugs ka response bhi slow hota hai, relapse ka chance bhi jyada hota hai. Ghabraiye mat, aisa bahot se patient hote hain aur thik se TB ki dawa aur Diabetes control ke sath wo thik ho jate hain.
What is the right and Exact Diet the patient must take along with medicines in Normal Pulmonary TB? Please guide...
TB Does not require any diet restriction. It is good to ensure that the diet is rich in protein and adequate nutrients are provided.

I am suffering from Tuberculosis & having pills from last 20 day's , I got
Fever sometimes & sometimes vomiting even the blood also from my mouth during vomiting , can anyone help me or giving advise me it is normal ?
In TB the symptoms subsides slowly with medicines. Also slight nausea and vomiting can happen and is normal. If the vomiting is too much then you can consult your doctor regarding it to ensure there are no side effects on the liver. If liver reports are normal then ask your doctor for antacid.

Yes, biopsy can be helpful in diagnosing TB especially in lymph nodes and other internal organs.
@@SurvivorsAgainstTB mainy sonography and fnac test karvaya us m aagaya hai I am minor infection of tb in neck lyhmb nodes.. medicine se dr n kaha thek hojayega..but cancer specialist Dr kahete ek bar biopsy krva le..now I am confused what I do..

@@nehagadhavi2290 I was infected with spinal tuberculosis and also spread in my neck. I was completely cured with medicine and I had to take 60 injectionfor first two months ..

Despite of her young age, she will have to continue with the tough treatment. From your side make sure that her tests are done properly, medicines are not missed and give her a good diet which will help her in recovering from TB. These medicines are heavy and tough to take but you will have to patiently manage. She will get better with proper care and treatment
