Sharing such Talents is something painters cant do this days. Thanks to you for keeping the nature of Arts alive in todays world of computers and printers.
I've searched and searched for a video like this. I've always loved the chrome lettering. I tried it a few times before, but did individual brush strokes to get the fade. Doing the half and half on the brush is GENIUS! From the start I was having a hard time visualizing, but once the first parts of the letters were down I could see it finished. AWESOME job. I'm gonna watch this over and over and over and over again, and practice, practice, practice. Thank you Glen. You're an amazing artist.
It was absolutely awesome to see Glen's amazing talent as the letters progressed into chrome. I am exhausted from holding my breath with every stroke of the brush.
I love the hand painted look adds to my suspension of disbelieve.. The imperfections make it look real.. It inspires me as an artist/typographer/and graphic designer..
I started painting signs and custom graphics 30 years ago, and Glen Weisberger was my God even then.. He makes this technique look so easy.. trust me, it isn't. This man is the very best there is.
so nice nice to see this man at work..............had a nice article on Glen Weisgerber in sign craft back in the 80's..............large group of guys in jersy were the inspiration to many of us throughout the country. thanks for the great vid!
I've seen a lot of work in my 38 years of free hand lettering and pinstriping your version of the chrome lettering is impeccable mine on the other hand needs a lot of practice to come close to the quality of yours your video absolutely helped me out a bunch and I appreciate you showing me what I was doing wrong now hopefully I'll be able to do chrome lettering and it won't look like a five-year-old did it with finger paint.
Really Bernie!!!! Glen, Mr "J" and Circus paint were the best of the best in the 70s and painted all the great Funny Cars and Top Fuel cars back in the day. Glen was lettering and striping all the greats when he was in his teens!!! I would suggest you look to the archives and see what this great has done. You name the magazine this man has been featured. He has been off the map for a few years and I am stoked to see his work back on the scene. He is custom painting royalty!!! Thank you Glen
impressive technique and can certainly appreciate the years worth of experience. just look at the steadiness of the hand and how accurate each stroke is!
Absolutely awesome. I really started to see it when he put that one spot of white on the s. Dude so incredible. Thank you man. I may have already watched all these and commented but here goes again it’s cool man. Thanks
thanks for sharing! My son broke his arm and wants me to paint his cast like a transformer.... so here I am upskilling my chrome game... feeling a lot more confident now than before I started watching :)
Thanks for the fun video! Now i want to do that! i don't know now what for, but i will definitely give it a try sometime soon!. A great instructor once told me that when you want to do a good line, stop breathing while you do it.
Colega.Soy Antonio Ataide Ataide de Córdoba Argentina.Excelente tu dinámica con los pinceles.Yo admiro a otros como vos.Hace 30 años me dedico a pintar carteles artesanales.Un saludo amigo
its chrome and not a bevel/extrusion. think of the darker side as the horizon and the chrome lettering reflecting the surrounding environment which is just a sky and beige ground plane. its a very basic enviroment reflected back and if you look at hajime soroyama's work you can see pretty much the same thing going on
These videos are really informative. Been doing hand lettering for 30 years but its never too late to learn new stuff. Its kinda a dying art form with computer cut vinyl and printers so readily available nowdays
shit you are way better than the guy that was on channel 2 when I was a kid I couldn't see it until almost the end of the video you do great work thanks.
Well, boo hoo to the 446 thumbs downs to this because, first of all, anyone spending the enormous amount of time required to gain any competence doing lettering at all deserves credit and second: Glen's pretty damn great at what he does.
The way I learnt it, is to start with painting the outline. Then you have some slack to work with when painting the filling and you can concentrate on the blending more which is a little easer. Of course you'd still have to touch it up in the end.
Walking by, you will think it will cut you and bleed. Then, followed by shock, as your brain is tricked and you feel euphoria. Be careful, it will hurt your emotions like a dead on cold stare with a slight smile from Racheal Welch. Hypnotic!

Amazing pure talent. Not many people can do the old school free hand lettering and pin strip. Much respect brother
It was absolutely awesome to see Glen's amazing talent as the letters progressed into chrome. I am exhausted from holding my breath with every stroke of the brush.
L
😅😅
I could feel my hands shaking with every brush stroke. This guy deserves a medal or trophy.
I could watch him painting for hours. So relaxing and beautiful.
This is a man that has perfected his craft beyond and above it also took more than a couple days to accomplish this skill
What an amazing technique this man has! Thanks to Glen for allowing it to be documented in video.
There are some things that a computer can never replace. This is amazing.
This information has now been downloaded by a computer. The computer now knows....😉
Computer cant but a robot can😂
The technique is amazing. The blend of the colours you make is just perfection. I would love to see paintings made by you.
Interesting!
I use to letter race cars back in the 80's this brings back many awesome memories, thank you. I love your work.
You're on another level of Bob Ross!! Happy little chrome letters. Good stuff love the videos.
Brilliant! Completely entrancing. I so enjoyed hearing Glens thoughts and process. Aces.
I love the hand painted look adds to my suspension of disbelieve.. The imperfections make it look real.. It inspires me as an artist/typographer/and graphic designer..
I smiled like a delighted child all the way through this!
I was mesmerized watching them letters get sharper, deeper, wider, brighter ect. That was entertaining.
I don't know if you get paid to do this video but i sure do appreciate it. Thank you for sharing your talents.

I took Glen's class. He is definatly one of the best. Got to practice those brush strokes daily. Haha. [ I could watch him letter all day !]
AMAZIIING! I DIDN'T THINK I WOULD WATCH THE WHOLE 23 MINUTES. BUT I DID! THANKS. FUN TO WATCH!
Why are you yelling jfc chill
You and every other kid with the attention span of a goldfish
I could not see the method in your madness until you started to lay the earth tone then the letters just @@@@POPPED@@@@
Thankyou Glen
That's cool. The play with the shadow is sooooo good.
Talent!! you also explained it very well, I understood how you got the effect,
thank you for sharing your techniques
impressive technique and can certainly appreciate the years worth of experience. just look at the steadiness of the hand and how accurate each stroke is!
He's like a rock/metal Bob Ross! Nice video!
yup lol
hahaha i just realized that
Most definitely!
Bob Ross joined Lynyrd Skynyrd
I find these videos more relaxing too.
A long lost art in most places. Great job.
That's killer, I have to try this technique. The big brush doubling as a paint cup and pallet holder as well as a hand rest is ingenious, I like that
After the first 3-4 minutes I was wondering if you even knew what you were doing. It became very clear after a while though :) Beautiful!
jonnebanan
My thoughts exactly
I knew it would start to look rad once the skinny brush came out.
Dont ever doubt the legendary Taz Marazz
Thank you sir . Inspiration from seeing you fired up my soul right now. I’m gonna practice so this art form and pin striping never fade.
Glen fixed that top left serif on the R with seconds to spare! It was bugging me for ages....Great inspiring videos.
I'm glad you only need a keyboard to comment because my jaw is on the floor. Such amazing talent.
Yea, this is dope! matey182 join us here NYHC COMICS Peace Fam Fam!
Nevermind the sign he's painting, the man is the art.
wow...can't believe you did those with a brush! fantastic work!!!
Bud that was fantastic, I was moved, you are an artist of note in my book
Great finale. The highlight does it all
He’s clearly the best to ever do it
Awesome work love to see some of the drag race cars you have done
I'm mesmerized by this!
what tremendous brush control...salute
I can watch this guy paint all day !!!
Great job Glen on Your Art Work and Video
Down facing reflects land, up facing reflects sky, the border is black. Marvelous.
This and snooker planet are now my go to calm down channels
he means a computer could never replace the aesthetic quality that comes with the subtle human imperfections like this
Absolutely awesome. I really started to see it when he put that one spot of white on the s.
Dude so incredible.
Thank you man. I may have already watched all these and commented but here goes again it’s cool man.
Thanks
what a talented and unique individual. Thanks for sharing
thanks for sharing! My son broke his arm and wants me to paint his cast like a transformer.... so here I am upskilling my chrome game... feeling a lot more confident now than before I started watching :)
Amazing to see how those (what i thought were) rough brush strokes turn out to be the reflections.. just amazing to watch the picture take shape.
Thanks for the fun video! Now i want to do that! i don't know now what for, but i will definitely give it a try sometime soon!. A great instructor once told me that when you want to do a good line, stop breathing while you do it.
Carol MaHarry Maybe they meant cocaine?

Love your use of the mal; where did you pick that up at? It really does steady the hand/wrist. Thanks,
Dang.....Ive seen airbrush guys do the Jersey Tow Truck lettering style but the brush work is awesome, like a cross between Ed Roth and Bob Ross 😉👍
Could watch this for hours ..serious talent
Nice brush work.... amazing!
Shouldn’t the earth tone side have the darker side on the outside of the letter and the lighter at the top of the peak, like the sky tone side?
its chrome and not a bevel/extrusion. think of the darker side as the horizon and the chrome lettering reflecting the surrounding environment which is just a sky and beige ground plane. its a very basic enviroment reflected back and if you look at hajime soroyama's work you can see pretty much the same thing going on

OMG! How do you keep such a steady stroke? This is beautiful. Good stuff. Your voice... could calm war. Back to the drawing. .
He closed up shop in 2018. I'm assuming he went out of business. Have yall seen the work he made, holy crap this dude has talent!
Out of business? More likely early retirement..
I like the way the stick take place for the painting hand get stable

Amazing video! 🔥 Thank you! 💯 I have a question:
What does he use to mark the letters first before painting with the brush?
I didn't know that Slash painted in his spare time. He's so good at it, too!
I thought oh Lord he is making one big mess and then. Everything came together and wow this dude is the real McCoy
welcome to painting, it's all like that
Slash on his day off. Great video thanks for sharing 👍
Great video, really neat trick with the pairing the two paints.
oh man! what a talent, you´re my hero!!!!! that´s amazing
Well, boo hoo to the 446 thumbs downs to this because, first of all, anyone spending the enormous amount of time required to gain any competence doing lettering at all deserves credit and second: Glen's pretty damn great at what he does.
Thank you mr weisgerber, those are the best chrome letters on you tube! thanks, Awsome!!!
Wolfman slash sure knows his way around a paintbrush! 🎨
What a talent!! High respect to you
the thin lines are drawn very nicely

This is so relaxing to watch.
I enjoyed your tutorial, very good. I wonder what brushes you used. Thank you very much
I really like your technique, thank you for posting this interesting information
Love the painters pallet
You're a really cool artist!

Amazing work. You make it look so easy x
Watching this reminded me of one of my pet peeves, which is don't criticise till it's finished.
Are you painting on a high gloss background? Acrylic or oil?
Whats the brand name/type of that particular brush? The end result looks fantastic!
This guy is awesome at what he does!
Simply beautiful
