The calculations were based on assumptions provided by the Tories: garbage in/garbage out.
Also, Starmer did try to counter the £2,000 lie immediately but was cut off by the moderator - and didn't try to overtalk the host unlike the boarish, petulant child, Sunak.
Because all UK media are right wing and need calling out!

This was no debate, and Julie Etchingham had NO control over Sunak whatsoever. It was just like one of the worst Question Times since 2015. What a waste of airtime, but it did show Richy Sunak at his WORST.

Rishi spending too much time arguing why we shouldn’t vote labour. He would connect with the public far better if he focuses on what he will do, what his vague ‘plan’ actually is, and how he will change the country.
Problem is is Tories have already had 14 yrs and Sunak's been in No 10 for plenty long enough to enact any ideas they might of had. Sunak desperate for his India trade deal to make him and his wife into Billionaires. They cancelled the only major productivity enhancing project in HS2. They are literally talking about patching up roads, stoking culture wars and forcing 18 yr olds to do unpaid work.

There is no tax hike. Sunak is a spoiled brat.
It doesn’t put whether the stated £2000 is a correct figure to mind, it reinforces the understanding that most of us have that you can’t trust conservatives on the whole. The quantity of proven lies and untruths over the last 5 or 6 years especially has eroded the credibility entirely
