There are 36 hairpin bends in Ooty-Mysuru route. Bus drivers are really superb. The Mudumalai-Bandipur forest is also known for sandal wood and Veerappan.
The 36 hairpin bend route is extremely steep, dangerous n sharp. Hence buses are not allowed thru this route.
Buses go thru Gudalur route.
I've been there in 2015
One of the famous Bandipur in south India
Have travelled with this driver Mr. Muneendra, excellent driving skills

Soumit, apnar excellent journey experince gulo dekhi. Sudhu experience, information nay ekta wah... wala feelings thake. Amader 4 yrs er kid er jannya seat ki book korte lagbe mane comfort, seat size wise. Ami diner belayei aste chai Ooty to Bangaluru approx 10am er bus. Apnar suggestion chai.

Just noticed, fare at night would be more bcoz distance travelled in more since at night, the road through Bandipur is closed
Glad now things are little fine with safety procedures, and i travelled in 2000 from Mysore to Ooty, roads were so different due to that travel time was much longer though, but still managed to see many animals crossing and it was wonderful experience.
