I learned to ride on one of the Honda scooters as a young kid back in the ‘60s. Looked a lot like this, but with a 50cc engine and it was red. Many great memories.
It’s nice to see classic designs getting respect in current times.

I like the retro look and the high visibility yellow blends the classic color with a safety element. Would be nice to hear the range at 30-35, and then accessories available like a rack or panniers for the back for those grocery runs.

I love it, my first bike was a 1964 Honda CA95 (the 160 Dream) , later I found a 1963 CB72 (the 305 dream). I was getting some work done at a small engine shop (in the mid 80's) and he had just bought a (early 60's) CB50 (just like this bike, fairing and all) he paid $20 for it, and said: "I might never get to working on this, you seem to know it, give me $20 and its yours to get going". I cleaned the carb, and took it out a few times a summer when my boys were between 4 -8, they loved wearing a "real" motorcycle helmet, and sitting in front of me as we cruised in the neighborhood.

Hi Mikey, I'm an Englishman who retired with his wife to Spain. I decided to start cycling again but due to the fact that it is quite a hilly area and the temperatures are high, my wife suggested I try an ebike, and I absolutely love it. Mine is an NCM and we decided to get one for my wife and got her an Ancheer. Both are 250W, but my wife is finding it a little tough on the Ancheer, so we started to look for an alternative. I really like your videos and was really interested in the one where you talked about SinglesDay shopping holiday in China and how it was safe to buy from AliExpress, because I have looked at the site many times but have been frightened off by the risk of losing my money. After seeing that video I thought it would not be as risky as I thought, so we picked out a 400W Lankeleisi bike. We felt that would give her the extra help she needed to keep up with me. At first it was supposed to be coming from Spain and then they asked would it be ok if it came from China due to the Covid19 situation. We were happy to accept that. A couple of months later it eventually arrived. On assembly it was clearly not of the quality I expected. The frame and gears appear acceptable. The wheels and spokes are of poor quality. The battery rattles in the holder on the bike and was supposed to be an 18ah LG, but the sticker on it says 18ah Samsung, which would also be acceptable, but the casing seems of poor quality which does make me wonder. After assembly, before my wife rode it, to make sure it was safe I rode it myself and it is clearly not 400w, as it struggles on the slightest slope, which the other two bikes sail up. The LCD screen does not register the charge of the battery on the indicator, although when you flip through the different modes it does register 41.8volts, which for a 36v battery means it is fully charged, so I removed the battery holder on the bike to check if there was a loose connection and discovered that the controller is only 11amps. This means that the peak wattage of the motor would be 36v x 11amps = 396watts. The motor is labelled with the peak wattage and not the nominal wattage as you would expect, and as indeed the NCM and Ancheer are labelled. The front mudguard does not fit. The preassembled rear mudguard does not follow the contour of the wheel. The seller does not respond, and the response from AliExpress was to negociate with the seller until I pointed out that it is difficult to do when they are not responding. The dispute procedure has led to what appears to be a final offer of a refund of 172 euros out of a total selling price of 858 euros, which is around 20% of the cost, but would still leave me with a bike that is unfit for use. To try and sell it would make me as dishonest as the original seller so I have no wish to do that. My question is, with your experience of dealing with AliExpress, do you have any suggestions of how to deal with this problem? Surely AliExpress must realise that this is not the way to build a customer base. You obviously buy in bulk; have you ever heard if this treatment is the norm for ordinary retail customers because obviously we don't have the buying power? I know this is not your fault by the way, it was purely to ask for advice on how to deal with them because I seem to be getting nowhere. I also hope this will serve as a warning to others thinking of buying from AliExpress.

If you're riding on a fast road while going slow. You should do what's called lane control and take the left portion of the right lane so no one merges into you or double passes. I know you're a fellow Florida rider and we gotta be a bit more aggressive than other states to stay alive.

This looks to be more practical than the Cub 125cc at twice the price.
I do wish most eBikes were these frames instead of road bikes and dutch city bikes. For all the reasons you mention. Drivers know what to expect from a moped. It has signals, proper lights, visual width, a horn and solid retro motorcycle drum brakes.
It can hold half a lane on a roadway, stay out of bike lanes (where fast eVehicles don't really belong) and move left for a turn like any small motorcycle... Because that is what it is.

  • @felixcat9318

It goes fast enough that the rider could suffer severe injuries to their ungloved hands were they to come off the scooter!
The absolute minimum riding gear should be helmet, eye protection, gloves, boots and jacket.
Unprotected palms and fingers don't do so well when contacting road surfaces hard...

It is a sharp-looking copy of an old-style Cub. The handlebar switches look like the ones on the older bikes and not the new C125. I would be interested in a follow-up video with more detail about the initial charging and the range as well as battery recharging time. It would be interesting as well to see the frame underneath the plastic fairings. You are being disrespectful to Honda by calling it a Cub. The Honda Super Cub is the first-ever patented 3-D design and has sold over 110 million since 1958. They have been making prototype electric Cubs and hopefully will bring one to market soon.

As soon as they can match the speed and range on a tank of gas of an original 1960s Honda super Cub I would buy one. 20 miles barely gets me to the nearest store and back. A Honda 50 could get a 100 plus miles per gallon at a steady 45 miles per hour.

I'm conflicted on the speed. I think if I were going to buy a scooter over a bike I would want it to do 40+, but at the same time I think that 32 is as fast as people should travel in dense urban areas and I like the idea of normalizing low-speed vehicles. I also recognize that while I instinctively think scooter vs bike, there are some people who for look or feel strongly prefer a scooter and won't be comparing it to a class 3 e-bike.

These hub motors usually have three settings.
When it limits you to 32mph it is in a European mode as in many countries you can drive a motorbike/scooter etc. when it doesn't have more than 50cc/4kw and isn't faster than 45kmh.
There's also a motorized bike mode where it only drives 25kmh as this a very cheap license that you can make at a very young age and is easy to get.
Then there's unlimited mode where it'll do about 40mph/64kmh like your csc wiz.

Love my '22 Super Cub, 130-ish MPG, 45MPH cruising speed, but I can get it to 55 if I need that extra "boost", lots of (expensive) options to really make it my own, but this is just awesome.
If I wasn't in such a rural area, I'd probably have dropped some cash on this. 30-ish MPH wouldn't be too terrible around town, but getting to town would take forever. This bike definitely needs more attention. I wonder how many Cub parts are cloned and if you can replace anything with them on this bike, would be interesting to find out. That headlight looks like a direct rip of the modern Cub lights (though I get that the mounting is probably different).

It sounds like a nice little beginners bike. In the UK a 50cc scooters (capable of 30 - 40 mph) are quite common as a 17 year old can ride around on it with a learners licence and a CBT certificate making that the easiest street legal class of vehicle to qualify for. I would like to see a more powerful version that gets you up to around 60 mph as that would be equivalent to a 125cc bike which is the maximum power you can ride with those restrictions.
