Gary Stewart, my all time favorite, I believe I have at one time or other possessed every album he ever made, then purchased them on cd's; saw him once live in Aztec, NM and had my picture taken with him. He signed my cowboy boots. Love him, broke my heart to hear of his demise. Country never knew what they had in him. What a God given voice and talent he had.
This is THE greatest song - brings back so many memories! My Dad, (Buddy), plays music with different bands-all volunteer- at the Vet's Hospitals, nursing homes and the like. Any place people might NEED to be reminded of good times... Anyway, I haven't been able to find the guitar chords for this & I think it would be a perfect song for the people he plays for. Bring back some good memories, ya know. Any idea where I might find 'em? Thanks again for the post!
I am glad though that we have new stars that are traditionalists like Alan Jackson, Randy Travis and Dwight Yoakam. They do their best to try to keep that old music alive as well. The majority of the new stuff is just Pop and Rock with Cowboy hats and Steel Guitars. The real stuff is people like Willie, Waylon, Merle, George Jones, Hank Sr, Johnny Cash, etc.
Damn, Ken is just another talent that Nashville let get away because they wanted to go in another direction. ( Taylor Swift) like she' s country. Got to ask," WHAT THE FUCK IS COUNTRY sorry I don' t know anymore . Do you? People. what they are pushing as country ani' t county. If you love country stop buying into it.
