The scene where Clint removed his hearing aid just to be alone and talk to Natasha was heart-wrenching. Jeremy Renner's eyes does express a lot.

I love the way marvel shows different views of the blip, first with what it was like for those who didn’t dust (Avengers Endgame), second was coming back after the blip (Monica Rambeau) and now how it felt to dust away during the blip with Yelena Belova

I loved Vincent's portrayal of Kingpin's character. I'm glad he is back.
I just hope they don't butcher him. He was an excellent character with great depth to his motive. You felt his emotions, needs and perspectives.

The logistics of the blip would be mind boggling. As we start to see glimpses of how it affected different people
It’s good to see on screen because it will get people from all walks of life thinking about the blip, thinking about what would happen if they experienced such a thing, and will get them ready to at least think in a different way in their daily lives when things like climate change force evacuations. People who have the power to make changes for the betterment of all will have thought of details not previously thought about before, and societies around the world will be the better for it.
I just imagine if someone was sitting on that toilet there in 2023 the moment when Yelena reappears lol

It'll be interesting to see how Yelena and Kate's relationship contrast with Clint and Natasha's.
When Clint and Maya fight, did you notice, Clint was hitting Maya with the flat sides of his Ronin Sword, showing his non lethal intentions.

That’s actually really sad to think about if parents were blipped and then returned only to find out their kid is living with another family. That’s devastating
Probably best case scenario obviously once they are caught up on what happened. Imagine coming back and finding out something much worse happened to your child during those 5 years and there was nothing you could do to save them and they were so alone.
I'm with Josh on this one. I'd do anything for my kids, but if I cant be there, I'd hope that someone else steps in and would be eternally grateful to them for doing so. Of course, the kid would have to choose which parent to live with at that point, but I wouldnt take that result too hard.
Just imagine them being un-blipped and finding out that their kid was left in its crib alone and nobody checked on the apartment for weeks...
It’s for parents with no family i think so I’m spared but I would be so sad especially if they call them mom or dad and if we don’t share the same value but i know with time we would share custody because they dont entrust a child to just anyone anyway and I’d be grateful and we would have become family together 🤞🏾.

The best thing about this episode was the perfect timing of it airing and Spiderman releasing same day. Honestly just perfect by Marvel. Both so well done.

this is a really small thing but yelena's unusual eye makeup in the first scene (winged eyeliner, under the eye instead of over it) is very similar to melina's in black widow. like mother like daughter

I honestly cannot take the name Fisk seriously, in my language it literally means Fish 🤷
I like how each of the D+ shows tell the story of how the characters get their suit upgrades. Whereas in a movie you just see the character wearing it without context.
The movie also has context, what are you saying? Tony's ofcourse were upgraded armor suits with hotrod colors, Cap's is inspired by his Bonds-selling Propaganda costume, Black Widow's are black as that is typical espionage costume for the black widow assassins, Spiderman's was reconceptualized design of the OG homemade costume of peter, etc.
I very much want the final scene to be Clint bringing Kate and Yelena to his house for christmas.

Oh my gosh, I had definitely thought of all the kids who became orphans but not about those who were adopted to then have their parents return. That must have been a heartbreaking thing for everyone to go through.

I feel like the blip fills in nicely with the end of Daredevil season 3. What if Daredevil got blipped and that allowed Fisk to get back out of prison and and allowed him to gain even more power and influence.
Yeah, that's gotta be it. I was thinking "how could they just undo the progress of the 3rd season like that?" But that would make sense.

The blip is such a perfect opportunity for kingpin to seize control again, especially if daredevil was blipped. No Matt murdoch to stop him.

Throughout Hawkeye, Kate has been clad in purple fabric. In most of Yelena’s appearances outside of work mode, Yelena has been clad in yellow fabric. Purple and yellow, despite being opposite colors, are actually complimentary. Definitely a coincidence but a cute one at that.
Also interesting Eleanor Bishop wears a lot of red….

None of their coordinates would align with Earth's position in space upon their return anyway, so it's irrelevant. Bruce invoked the right words when snapping, that's what secured people's safe return.
Since we never really see Derek Bishop die it makes me wonder what really happened to him and if he’ll play a part in the finale. Probably not but I guess we’ll see.
Might be a plot point for Hawkeye season2.
There's a boomerang on the wall next to his picture...so...DEREK BISHOP IS CONFIRMED TO BE CAPTAIN BOOMERANG FROM A DC/MARVEL CROSSOVER, AND HE DIDNT DIE DURING THE LOKI INVASION, RATHER, HE JUST WENT BACK TO HIS HOME IMPRINT.

By far one of the coolest shots in marvel history was when Yelena got snapped. A whole story in a 60 second shot with no words.
I thought Yelena looked up at the building Eleanor went into trying to plan how to get up the outside.

I am surprised you did not mention that while at the Battle of NY plaque, Clint apologizes and walks away as the scene blurs out of focus, moves to the next scene with Kate Bishop out of focus and then refocused thereafter. I appreciate your attention to detail with the filmography of the Marvel stories. Like the stories, “are everything to me”. Lol
My assumption being that he apologized to Natasha because he had promised to never be Ronin again, but felt it was necessary.
There is no way they wrap up this season in just one more episode.

Totally agree! This is a great season, and if they don't have s2 I think it wont be a good wrap up. They could also do a movie.
almost all marvel related movies or series are a set up for a next movie or serie.
Wandavision, Loki, and FTWS all felt the same going in to their last episode too. It takes far less time to knock down dominos than to set them up

So what happened to the Ronin suit after Clint & Echo’s fight?
Considering how much of a big deal it was in the first 2 episodes that the suit can’t just be lying around for anyone to find, I find it weird that it seems that Clint just abandoned it before getting in the Uber.
pretty sure he’s holding it as he follows kate to the uber? and that he took it off off-screen
or he just put the sweats on over top of the suit

I at first thought it was odd that Clint was seemingly so terrified of Kingpin, but I imagine that it could be something to the effect of "If you cross Kingpin, then all of Hells kitchen gets destabilized as revenge."

Do you think Clint worked for kingpin as ronin during the blip? he keeps referring to himself as someone’s “weapon” & something tells me he’s not referring to shield….
Could be the first hints at the MCU referring to the background of Clint in the comic, where Hawkeye was a villain before reforming and becoming a hero. Or hinting at his time as Ronin, where someone helped with locating targets, transportation, funding, etc. and Clint has since realized that his vengeance quest was used by someone like Fisk or Val to deal with threats.

So clint might just be mentioning it through out the course of his life in general

I’m just glad Vincent is back and that Kingpin is in the MCU!! I hope it also means that Jon Bernthal as Punisher will be back along with Mike Colter as Luke Cage. We need to see the Defenders in the MCU
when "christmas time is here" was playing, there are a few beats where clint is walking with his head down, and that may or may not have been a subtle nod to arrested development.
Yeah, it's probably a Charlie Brown reference since that's what Arrested Development was referencing.

The timeline almost fits perfectly to have had Kingpin Dusted and just now returning. They could honestly use that as the explanation for any of the Netflix Defenders and I would be all for it.

The Helicarriers at the end of Age of Ultron were supplied by Agent Phil Colson in the Agents of Shield series. With Nick Fury commenting on how they were supplied by a old friend. So while Phil Colson did originally appear in the Marvel movies, and that the series is no longer available on Netflix, the actions of the series were referenced in a movie.

Agents of Shield was on Netflix because of the abc-Netflix deal, not because it was a Marvel-provided Netflix creation akin to The Defenders.
Small nitpick, but yes, I agree that Nick Fury in Age of Ultron referred to Coulson a bit there, just chose not to elaborate on it for... reasons.

I love love love how the MCU shows the different perspectives of the blip because to them it was an instantaneous dust and undust. Just loving how they are addressing the different ways this is affecting different people around the world.
Tabitha was also the name of Samantha's daughter from Bewitched, could be an easter egg to the Young Avengers, since Wandavision had Bewitched themed episodes and the sons of Scarlet Witch will team up with Kate Bishop in the future.

I've always said 5 years is just enough time for people to start moving on, making changes to their lives that would otherwise be permanent. Not a single person on earth (apart from the Avengers) thought the blipped would return.
I think Jack is in on it with Elenor. Seems very casual getting arrested, and very convenient that he did just as kate walked in
I think he has no idea and is genuinely surprised. He's being used by Eleanor and is oblivious to it because he's in love.

This series is Black Widow 2.0. Wrapping up the past, replacing the old heroes and setting up the upcoming events.
But unlike Black Widow, this is actually GOOD.
Ive enjoyed lots of the phase 4 stuff (with eternals being a great setup movie but cinematically a complete mess), but this series has actually got me the most excited about what's next and the most connected to a freshman in the MCU (props to the direction and hailee steinfeld). Great story telling and tying in Fisk got me SO pumped. This is one of the only properties where they start us off on a ground floor that really has somewhere to build to. And kudos to you, who always has a way of offering insights while amping up the audience for what's coming. Your enthusiasm is infectious!
I know not everyone liked Danny Rand, but it would be awesome to see him in Shang chi 2..
I had to watch this during school so you have no idea how much I had to contain my excitement
I think king pin is the most terrifying because he's the mist grounded among these villains we can watch him actually hurt our heroes
He's also the most relatable to a villain in real life if it existed

I never understand why kingpin is feared. He doesn't seem all that scary.

He's scarier than superpowered murder machines like Ultron and Thanos because Kingpin takes things personally and will absolutely send hitmen after your family and other loved ones when you annoy him. Your regular Avengers level threat may kill you, but Kingpin will make you wish you were dead.
Thanks said explicitly that he would enjoy wiping all life from earth. Nope, still not getting Kingpin' s fear factor.

Erik if you look at the doorknob at around 2:58 in the beginning when Yelena enters the bathroom only to get dusted away a few seconds later, the doorknob is shown then disappears then shown again as the camera moves.
Earlier in the series, Clint says that the best shot he took was the one that he didn’t take which made reference to Natasha. Now I think that Yolanda is going to have a similar experience in being sent to kill him, but chooses not to.

So Hawkeye takes the hearing aid out of 1 ear and can't hear anything. He can only hear out of 1 ear? I don't know the history of his hearing loss.
Supposedly years of being an Avenger around loud booms is the reason. So ear protection is not a thing...
In episode 2, when Kate asks him how he lost his hearing, you have a clip of all the time he was beaten or blown by explosions. Then he answer "too hard to tell"
Using only one hearing aid and being almost deaf without, we can assume he's completely deaf on the right side and has some hearing remaining on the left side

@@markgraf9695 Usually, the result of repeated explosion exposition without proper protection is heavy and permanent damages to the inner ear which results a partial or total loss of hearing
He took the post-quantum arrival Thanos ship Avengers HQ mega bombardment, and then the "rain fire!" bombardment - very close to each other time-wise, with no helmet/ear coverage. That alone would stress the shit out of humanoid ears (if your tissue isn't made of much stronger cells like Steve, Prof Hulk, Thor, etc.).
Its so intriguing to see how it would be if you were snapped and it was like falling asleep. One minute you're gone the next everything changes in an instant and you're back.

Surprised you guys didn’t mention that when Clint is talking to Nat at the memorial, the motif from Vormir (which plays when both Gamora and Nat sacrificed themselves) plays in the background. That made me cry so much.

Kingpin is one of my fav bad guys since i was a kid reading comics. Cant wait to see how much power and impact he is gonna have in the marvel universe

I don't fully grasp the connection between Val, Eleanor, & Kingpin. Surely Val doesn't work for Kingpin? That would mean Kingpin has involvement with the Thunderbolts. Although that does bring to mind the comic Mayoral run of Kingpin in NY and the policing of superheroes done by the Thunderbolts.
I think Val is a Broker for a group of "Heroes for Hire" and Fisk was just a customer for their services.
