We came for the bags but we stayed for you Chase. Appreciate your openness and honesty; keep doing what you're doing. Tackling grief and change head-on isn't easy but it's a million times better than not talking about it. You're an inspiration to me and others undoubtedly.
Chase, I remember watching a video of yours a loooooooong time ago when I was looking for a new backpack . I thought, "who is this guy and why is his energy on 11". Throughout the years your channel would pop up and I'd always watch, partly because I have same bag bug that you seem to have, but also because I was wondering where you were in life. Your absence on YT was noticed and when you came back, you could tell something changed (as you mentioned in the video). I was heartbroken to find out some of the challenges you were going through in your personal life. From one human to another, I want to give you my condolences for your losses. I think your candidness here is really brave. Hoping for all the best in your future!
Chase, I thank you for sharing your grief (s). My brother just died suddenly and unexpectedly. Whatever you’re feeling, I send you some love. Words around grief are dicey. Sharing as you did in this video really let us in to a tender place in you. Thank you for showing how you do this hard work of grieving. I’ll hold you in my heart. I’m going on a hike in May and will bring my grief along the way. Still figuring out a ritual for honoring him along the Camino Podiensis. Many thanks.
For once I don't care about the gear. I just want to know more about navigating the transformational process of grief and acceptance and what you learned among that brotherhood of like minds. We all go through similar struggles that prevent us from moving forward in life so a video on the healing journey itself is more than welcome. Thanks in advance for opening up to us. Also highly recommend Boyd's book to everyone. It's a quick read, but a bit longer than two bathroom sessions. Unless you have... issues! 😬
I always enjoy your personal touch / insight on your product reviews, so I'm more intrigued with the trips you take with them. Thanks for sharing such personal details of your life. Can't wait to see more details of this trip, along with your gear!
Chase, really appreciate all that you’ve shared with us in your channel all these years: reviews on bags, life insights, experiences and whatnot. I thoroughly enjoy your videos and often times inspired by your detours from bag reviews into life philosophies. Pray that from all the hardships you are going through, you will come out finding closure and meaning, and most improtantly, new sense of happiness and purpose. Cheers bro!
Ahh man, this reminds me of our APEX Yosemite trip! Great video bro! I can totally relate to the "Upper limits" theory! I''m always waiting for the floor to fall out from under me when things are going well. Crazy.
YAAAS S AFRICA adventure! Also, yes to the beautiful “baggage” we all carry that is designed just for us. Consider exploring the difference between acceptance and Surrender. Often people speak of surrender but they are just talking about acceptance. Blowing through the joy ceiling requires the deep Surrender first… 🔥 ❤️
I gave a talk to a small group of men the other day on what I’m learning about radical acceptance. When so much of what we’re taught to do is fight and strive and improve and “not accept” what’s given to us, it’s a real mind f*ck to move to a place where we realise that actually the kind of acceptance that goes ALL THE WAY to the bottom IS the way to start change. I’m not there yet… but am travelling in that direction. And travelling with fellow brothers who can go shoulder to shoulder makes ALL the difference ❤
Fun shots with the 360, sometimes looked like a vlog camera, sometimes a drone. You are doing good, you are surviving your life and still doing your best.

Chase I'm so sorry how tough it's been for you lately. I'm also truly grateful how open you are about it, it makes it easier for all of us ❤
This is the kind of video we need! Reality of life with some bags sprinkled throughout. Much love brotha
Thanks for sharing and being open to discuss grief and change, Chase.
I would love to see a video with what you brought with you and your trip notes.
Great Video.. There is light on the other side. Keep your head up.. 💪🏾💪🏾
