Your first point reminded me of a story that Miss Universe 1994 Sushmita Sen spoke of... When she was competing for her national title, a very popular model, Aishwarya Rai, was also a contestant. She almost quit even before the contest thinking that there wasn't a way that she would win because Aishwarya was the lock to win. Her mother convinced her to go for it as she will never have the chance to win because of her fear that another contestant was going to beat her would keep her from even trying. Not only did she win the national pageant, she became her country's first Miss Universe.
I’m so lucky my mom has always told me to just go for it too!!! I will win asi final this time tomorrow in Sydney Australia and compete in Mexico in miss swimsuit USA! X❤❤❤❤
I have a pageant this coming July. Last year I got 1st runner up. This year I’m WINNING!! Will be replaying this video multiple times leading up to the competition 😂✨

I joined and placed as finalists and a runners-up in state level. I took hiatus. After a good time to grow, I won a national one. It takes time to improve our poise to exude inner faith, hence confidence.
This video has really helped calm my nerves today, thank you for reminding me that I am my own person and that is enough. No one else can bring what I can and I cant offer something that someone else has.

This has helped me so much. I am preparing to compete after years but this time with a disability(brain injury and epilepsy). You make me believe I can do it and actually talk to the judges about my brain tumor and surgeries!

Oh that's amazing. Thanks for sharing. You should choose a system that aligns with your goals and talents. Pageant Planet has a directory that you can search. Honestly, scams are few and far between with pageants. Focus on larger organizations that have multiple levels of competition. Ranging from local to international.
Most pageants require contestants to pay a sponsorship fee. This can be paid by family, friends, or local business. It can even come out of pocket. This fee is usually out of the budget for many contestants, which is why they seek sponsorship to fundraise and cover the cost of the entrance sponsorship fee.

I have two daughter's in National American Miss. This year is my oldest's 5th year and my youngest's 3rd year. I am going to show them this video. They have never won, but they go into it overwhelmed by the multiple girls from our state that have held state and national titles. I keep reminding them that if they believe in themselves and practice, practice, practice... they can win.
100% they can win. I always use to remind myself that no one is unbeatable. That's what makes any competition fun to watch, the upsets and dark horse wins.
