thank you ...I enjoy watching your video..it brings me back my memories there..so many sentimental values..I missed Ayala a lot...almost everyday I've been there for many years eating, shopping, strolling around,etc..now,2 years na di na ako nakabalik since nakauwi ako sa probinsya..hirap na Kasi covid..pero babalik ako sa city soon ...💕💕
Glad you liked it! It is a nice record of what it was like before covid-19 in Cebu... lots of friendly people close to each other... We all hope, that next year international travel will open up again in Cebu and area too. Best, Paul
Some videos just showcase the modern buildings springing up in Cebu, but this one provides a real glimpse into where people live and work. I feel as if I'm walking Cebu myself, minus the heat and fumes. I love the shots of the jeepneys, the fresh market produce, the shanty houses, the electrical wiring, and the overwhelming friendliness of the people in even the poorest places. I always get warned about pickpockets and thieves in Phils, but in truth I feel safer there than in poor quarters of most Western cities, let alone places like South Africa. No wonder the city is booming - the people live and work in harmony in a largely self-policed society. I'm impressed that even the pensive guy at 7:24 can walk with his pants down without getting arrested or attracting attention.
youve been able to capture the chaotic side of the city and also the good ones thanks for sharing this video although im a little bit worried of your last destination on your video but i hope your ok always your always welcome nice trip
Thanks and yes, I am fine... I love to travel and explore with an objective and respectful mind. Also, when I see relatively iffy areas I always look and feel 360 degrees around me and rely on my experience... thanks again for watching! Hopefully I can do more travel videos later this year (again). Best, Paul
Having travelled the World for 50+ years, my understanding as an engineer is, that to keep a city organized and clean, there must be a good and well integrated system design, responsible operation and maintenance too. Cebu, definitely could do well with a new system design, that could be operated and maintained following sustainable green engineering principles. It also needs a lot of education so, that people become more careful and responsible, and then proud for their own environment. It can be done in a well balanced way, with very little initial investments, and HUGE benefits, because everybody gains as the process is followed... In the US, EU and Japan we have seen many excellent examples, just in case people say; '...no it cannot be done; Paul you are wrong...' Well, sorry, they are wrong, but it is hard to change habits... I certainly would love to help Cebu, if they would accept my ideas and designs... I am actually visiting Cebu again this year! I love it! Best, Paul
For me, Cebu city is overpopulated/congested... needs a strong leader to implement orderliness, cleanliness, and good maintenance of city streets and establishments.
Totoo yan. I agree with you, maraming uncollected garbage at puro kalat dito kalat doon sa Cebu City. Walang garbage collectors at wala ring metro aides na nakikita ko sa daan. And Osmena the mayor is doing nothing of it. Matatapos na lang ang term nya. Sana the next mayor Labella would do something about this problem.
Before city of Cebu was liked Dumaguete city n now seeing the changed I say it Cebu is little mini me Manila. I hope the city mayor would check the things to improved the city....trashes, drainage pipes, vendors in the sidewalks n some roads (which causes traffic....most especially in the market n colon (the oldest downtown of the city)).
I think this video was taken before Duterte ordered the side walk clean up on all streets through out the country whether it is a city, town or barrio. I think it is good move because it clears the sidewalks for pedestrians only. It is not called a vendors lane that is out of control. I wish all mayors have the same guts as the president. A lot of them cannot clean up their own city or town because they're so afraid that in the next election no one will vote for them.
They say Cebu City is crowded it is not after all. It looks deserted. Phnom Penh, city of Cambodia, seems crowded compared to Cebu. More of walking tour of Cebu, PLEASE ????
Good suggestion. I actually try, as you can see e.g. at min 3:51 into the movie. In some cities street signs are not as organized as expected, that is certainly a challenge. New York, and London, amongst others, have really good signs. Best, Paul
I fear for ur safety some streets has no sidewalks u were almost Sideswipe by that jeepney and oh those graffitis and spaghetti wires are eyesore but nevertheless ur videos are clear and ur pace are just right, good job.
Thanks a lot! Very kind of you. I try to look 360 degrees all around all the time with my human eyes even if my camera lens is focusing on the subject... it is very true what you are warning about. Traffic there is hectic and you must be super careful. Thanks, and best, Paul
You should watch his Manila video and finished it. The Philippines is a 3rd world country it pretty much the same through out the country. May pa "kulang sa Dev" ka pa lol. httpsutu.be/OYC3p71-aH8

I love my city but it’s dirty and our local officials are shameless and don’t care a hoot. So sad.

Go to Bohol by ferry. It's cheaper than Cebu. Nice clean water.
I did, several times. I love diving in Panglao, Bohol. Best, Paul
