The little kid defending his sister in the wrestling match reminded me of my son when he was 3. He had never heard the ride-on mower start up, so he was understandably terrified when I started up our new one. He first ran 20 feet away then turned around and saw that I was still sitting on the scary thing. He then ran straight toward me on the mower and grabbed my arm, trying to get me away from it, all while crying the whole time... I was so proud of him. I'll never forget that.

Tugboat pilots are no joke. My great-grandfather was a tug captain after serving in the precursor to what is today the US Coast Guard, so I grew up with stories of his work aboard tugs and have taken an interest in visiting historical tugs and learning about how they operate and what they do. It's a dangerous job that requires quick thinking and exceptional skill. Which is to say, that tugboat pilot in this video is both a hero AND just an ordinary tug pilot doing what they all do. They're amazing people.

Those guys with the crane saving the dog and the guy helping the cat are admirable people. The world is made better by people like them, who understand the value of the life of an animal, and do not put it above the life of a human. i’m sure everyone is going to praise the people rescuing the mother and her kid in the storm, and rightfully so. That was extremely brave and most heroic. but I want to make sure these guys get some love too. A lot of other people would’ve just stood there, or made some wise crack at the expense of that helpless being, but thanks to people like them, those animals have the opportunity to love again and to be the most important thing in someone else’s life again.

here's one act of kindness that I'll never forget that someone did for me; a number of years ago my son was 8 years old and it was Christmas time. we were in a particular store and he wanted to get something. but knowing that we couldn't afford to get what he wanted, I tried to explain that to him without anyone hearing us. however, this lady that was standing in line behind us did overhear what I said, and offered to buy it for my son. I guess the expression on my face told her how much I appreciated what she did, and I verbally told her as much also. this was well over 10 years ago.

Just heads up for the video at 3:35 (the dog left in the car). If this happens (or if your dog is overheating) do not douse their head with water. Instead, douse their paws (especially in between the webbing). Dogs do not sweat from the head like we do, they sweat through their paws. By dousing their paws you will allow them to cool down significantly quicker.

Yeah, that one concerned me. Dog seemed to be fine, window was open - I know you're still irresponsible to leave a dog in a car for that long, but how the hell did he know if the air con was on or not? Many cars these days you can leave the air con on for the passengers while you leave the vehicle temporarily (as you can with mine). This seemed solely for video likes.

About a week before Christmas, a coworker of mine brought in an entire yard sized trash bag full of toys for me to give to my son. I let him pick what piece of candy he wanted and his mom thanked me. I told him the night was almost over he could take more. He was still at the age where he wasn't talking much, maybe at all?, but he knew what that meant. His mom was concerned he take too much, I told her no worries. This little boy was scanning the candy bowl like it was gold pieces in there. He found a single piece, grabbed it and looked up at me with his mouth wide open like he won the lottery. As he pulled the candy towards himself his mouth was still wide open and it seemed he was making sure it was OK, but the I'll never forget the joy on that kids face. And thoses were old cars, newer ones are heavier... During a family meeting, we had to stack up 5 of our men, big men, to push one car for a few feets. And to make it initially move was hellish...
So a truck ? Not a chance! Slight change in elevation made all the difference. The guy just tried his best.

True, depending on what you're implying specifically. Still, these seemingly small gestures are very meaningful. Some of them are a matter of life and death. If every human behaved this way, both on an individual and on a collective level, the world would be a much better place.

Very wholesome. I like the Halloween candy clip because it reminded me of when I was a little kid and on Halloween whenever my siblings and I came across an “honor system candy giveaway” house, we would take one piece we wanted, but would offload any candy we didn’t like/want into the bowl for others.
