    I love being creative and using what already exists around me to change things up. 😀
    That rug is lovely!!!!
    Have I told you that my mother back in the 1960’s made clothing for her 4 nieces and nephews out of used linens. She called them “farapos”. Rags were literally
    turned into children’s dresses, shirts, undies, shirts, etc.
    👚 🩳
    My mother also made her own and for her family, dresses, blouses, skirts, under slips, nightgowns, and even bras.
    There was no entra money laying around to go shopping at stores.
    She really has a gift!
    She learned it on her own to machine sew and cut cloth into clothing. She hand stitches too, and cross stitches as a hobby. She even learned how to knit by herself later on in her 60’s. She’s now 89, and still does some things. For the past few years she has been colouring. She has coloured a collection of adult colouring books, that my son has given to her as gifts, for Christmas and birthdays. 😊

    Mistinted paint is the best! I once collected several cans of a similar color, blended it & had enough to paint most of my home's interior.

    You have such excellent, money saving videos! I have been binge watching them from the past couple of years. You have one of the best money saving channels on you tube… and I’ve watched them all.

    I love what you did with your recliner. What a great affordable upgrade. Your afghan thrown over it initially made me feel sentimental as we have a beautiful afghan my mother in law crocheted for me years ago that drapes the back of our sofa in our living room. It is just precious to me as she told me when she made it for me she did it because I have never asked her for anything ❤

      We love the afghan too❤️ But it just kept sliding when anyone would sit on it.

    I took a little girls dress I got from Goodwill. Sewed the dress bottom and hung it on a hanger. Perfect clothes pin bag.

    Oh my goodness, I love your clothes pin bag idea! When I needed a clothes Pin bag I actually went into my daughter's closet. She was throwing away some purses I took one that was very lightweight so it wouldn't hurt my shoulders when I was using it and it's a cross body style so that's what I dumped all of my clothes pins in. She laughed at me and said Mommy that's trash you should just throw that away I said no no it's very useful. I used that until it completely wore out and started getting holes in it and then I replaced it with another very inexpensive crossbody purse that I found in my house. And it just does the job. It has a pocket in the front cuz of course it was a purse at one time and that's where I put my cell phone while I'm hanging laundry on the line.😊❤

    I did some more decluttering this morning. For many many years we have had a display of root beer bottles that were empty in our living room that were sentimental to my husband. As many many years ago when our sons were younger the three of them divided a case of root beer since that was the family favorite soda and my husband wanted to keep them as a memory I guess. But I asked him this morning would he be okay with parting with them, I felt like it was time but I didn't want to take down something that was important to him and he agreed that it was time. So was so nice to take all of those off of the top of our entertainment center it looks so much nicer now.😊

    I love watching projects like this! Does the number or size of the strips matter? Thank you great video!

    • @PenniestoDollars
      @PenniestoDollars  4 місяці тому +1

      I would say if you lessened the number of strips and increased their size, it might be too small or too bulky. But making them thinner and more of them, would just make a thinner, larger rug.

    • @PenniestoDollars
      @PenniestoDollars  3 місяці тому

      I think that is totally your decision based on space, family size, how much you cook at home and what you make, etc. we have cut way back on towels from having a family.
