In my world history class in school they dedicated 2 weeks to the holocaust (and rightly so), but we were never taught anything about the Armenian genocide. It truly is the forgotten genocide.

Kosovo is a historic part of Serbian territory. Ever since NATO forces went in there and bombed the place to kingdom come the region has been unstable. I grew up in Greece and only found out when I was 12 that my paternal grandmother, who I never met, was Armenian (er parents fleeing the genocide and settling in Greece). My father never talks about my grandmother and he doesn't speak to any of his Armenian family. I have an entire cultural heritage that I feel robbed of. Watching this makes me feel a profound sadness, even though I have never met any of my Armenian family.

I'm Armenian and my great great grandmother was sadly in the genocide she luckily survived so she was hiding under her couch while her family was getting murdered they found her they stabbed her the threw her in a river then her future husband found her saved her the fell in love got married and that's how it ends. I’m from southeast of turkey and I’m Kurdish . My great gran would tell stories about her Armenian friends in the village to my mum and aunts. She said we were all the same they spoke Kurdish and we did everything the same they were our sisters brothers mothers. It was around ww1 and she said when the soldiers would come to the village , we would try hide and if we couldn’t we would get slaughters and that there was a blood bath . She said she remembers the death of a pregnant women very clearly . They heated metal rods and stabed her in the belly from the back . There’s still villages near my village with people of Armenian decent and theirs also some survivors.

My fathers grand grand mother was from Kars. She was born in 1895. Her name was Shushan.When genocide started she was already married. Shushan with her husband(Margar) and her family escaped from Kars to Tbilisi (Georgia.)They lived there for 6 years. When genocide ended they escaped from Tbilisi to Artashat(Armenia).Their home still this day.I love their home and my relatives. Shushans daughter- Anahit she is alive(my fathers grandmother) . She was born here in Artashat. I visit her every month with my family. And she told us about her familys terrible destiny...

Afghan Hindus and Sikhs took refuge in India and the Western countries too when Taliban took over. None of the mainstream media will ever show this.

My grandfather was fortunate enough to have been granted asylum to Sweden (before WW2 happen). He had a identical twin brother born only a few minuets apart. We do not know what happened to his brother (I am not sure what the English word for brother of Grandfather is). This was long long ago before cell phones, internet, computers. Most of the people from his village, family, friends did not survive. Sweden has been very good to my family all these years later I am proud to be Swedish/Armenian. My grandfather met my grandmother she is ethnically Swedish. Both cultures are something I am proud of. Both of my grandparents are gone, Grandfather died in 2000, then grandmother died in 2003. Despite the horrors of the genocide that killed many of my people, he lived long enough to see the world change so much.

it hurts my heart, I am an Armenian girl in my senior years of high school, I attend a school with mostly white people. My class all laugh and deny the genocide. They do not understand how this is an extremely sensitive topic for me as it is apart of me. my heart shattered while watching this video right after my classmates joked around about the topic of the genocide. I have had enough of this unsensitive stubborn behaviour. As much as the things the Turks did has left me broken over 100 years later. I’m from southeast of turkey and I’m Kurdish . My great gran would tell stories about her Armenian friends in the village to my mum and aunts. She said we were all the same they spoke Kurdish and we did everything the same they were our sisters brothers mothers. It was around ww1 and she said when the soldiers would come to the village , we would try hide and if we couldn’t we would get slaughters and that there was a blood bath . She said she remembers the death of a pregnant women very clearly . They heated metal rods and stabed her in the belly from the back . There’s still villages near my village with people of Armenian decent and theirs also some survivors.

I cant help but cry listening to these survivors. I don't understand why. I've not been to Armenia or to Turkey. I've lived all my life in the Philippines, and now in the U.S. Lord God Almighty, have mercy on Armenia. Who will give the Armenian people justice, who will avenge their blood?

There are atrocities happening everywhere but the mainstream media highlights only what it needs to.

A few years ago I ve met a Georgian guy whoose name was ^Levan^.I ve mistakenly called him ^Levon^. He had warned me that it is the Armenian version of the same name , and they(Georgians) don t like Armenians(that is his view for sure) .I ve asked ^why^ .He has answered *they have killed our King*.I ve asked him *when*.He said in ^10th ceuntury^. So unfortunately the same analogy can be made for Armenians national hatred towards the Turks. This must come to an end , this is not for the benefit of anybody , believe me pls ...
I think only simpletons hate an entire nation of people. Personally as an Armenian, who’s grandfather survived this genocide, I still don’t hate Turks.... I hate the government though for hiding this atrocity and having to hear my grandfather (aged 9) or an entire ethnic group somehow deserved for their entire family to be tortured & killed . Its a sensitive topic as is the holocaust to Jews, but because it is not recognised by the Turkish government who sidelines the issues, we hear denial from Turkish people constantly which is painful. Although I understand this is what is taught to Turkish people (however spoken to many who recognise it as a genocide) and so don’t blame them for this, it’s not their fault. So my friend, we cool :D

My grandfather was fortunate enough to have been granted asylum to Sweden (before WW2 happen). He had a identical twin brother born only a few minuets apart. We do not know what happened to his brother (I am not sure what the English word for brother of Grandfather is). This was long long ago before cell phones, internet, computers. Most of the people from his village, family, friends did not survive. Sweden has been very good to my family all these years later I am proud to be Swedish/Armenian. My grandfather met my grandmother she is ethnically Swedish. Both cultures are something I am proud of. Both of my grandparents are gone, Grandfather died in 2000, then grandmother died in 2003. Despite the horrors of the genocide that killed many of my people, he lived long enough to see the world change so much.
Where are our REPARATIONS. Sorry is not enough. Both my ancestors were left ORPHANED because of the Genocide. Turkey it is time to pay for what you did.

it hurts my heart, I am an Armenian girl in my senior years of high school, I attend a school with mostly white people. My class all laugh and deny the genocide. They do not understand how this is an extremely sensitive topic for me as it is apart of me.

I have had enough of this unsensitive stubborn behaviour. As much as the things the Turks did has left me broken over 100 years later.

The Turkish Republic needs to acknowledge the genocide they've committed not only against the Armenian people, but also against the Pontic Greeks and the Assyrians. They need to pay reparations to these people, as the Turkish state confiscated the wealth and property of those they murdered. The Turkish genocide of Armenian, Assyrian and Greek people was the blueprint and the main inspiration for the genocides perpetrated by the Nazis just 3 decades later. They should not be left unpunished.
