I Dare You

Like most relationships, time often takes it's toll. Each person settles into a routine, and the initial excitement fades. Tricia and I are no different, but we work hard to keep our relationship vibrant. I believe we do a great job; we always look for new ways to show each other we’re constantly on each other's minds.
Like everyone else, she sometimes worries about what’s next or when the other shoe might drop, revealing our “true” selves. These are natural feelings that adulthood unfortunately teaches us to anticipate. This perspective, however, can make us question everything, assuming it’s all the same. When blessed with a gift like ours, why worry about what might happen when we can embrace it as the perfect gift it is and cherish it in all its beauty? Always hopeful for how it will grow stronger, surrendering everything you are with full faith that it will always surprise you in its glory.
This song is my encouragement to Tricia to have faith in our love and to believe that it is unique. I want her to let go of the fear of what could happen and fully embrace our love, just as I have. It’s a wonderful feeling, and I want her to experience it too.
