I would like to mention one critical thing. The "working range" given on most of the stabilizers is a gimmick of sorts. You would expect that a stabilizer with a working range of 170-270v would keep the output b/w 200-250v as long as input is b/w 170-270v and cutoff the supply if voltage falls below 170 or goes beyond 270. But the cutoff usually doesnt happen at the right voltage which increases the chances of your appliances getting too low or too high of a voltage. A microtek stabilizer i had (170-270) didnt cut off till 130v and was outputting around 150v at 130v input which is dangerous. For people having grid voltage between 200-250v 90%+ of the time i suggest get the cutoff device instead of a stabilizer since it would atleast reliabily save you from dangerous voltages. Set high and low cutoff of the device at 200 and 250 respectively since this voltage range is safe for appliances. If your grid voltage is outside this range more than 5-10% of the time then you need a stabilizer and protection relay both.

Maybe for those who are in Torrent power I heard the voltage is very stable and grid pe bharosa kar sakthe hai :-P Power lines are udnerground and the Transformers have voltage protectors in it. For everyone else who is on goverment power grids then stablilzer is the only option. Yes there is another scenario where it can be used. My ac can operate from 90 to 280 volts. My refrigerator can operate without stablizer from 100 to 270 volts. I am here on this video because at night voltage goes upto 267 and I think it goes above 270 and my refrigerator cuts off. I had to repair my fridge twice. Here I guess for my ac we can set it to cut at 280 volts. If all your appliances are stablizer free you can put this just for extra safety of other equipment like lights fan etc.

The conclusion was not the best. You cannot say that voltage stabilizer will cost just Rs.300/400 more. Since a voltage protector would be rated upto 63Amps but a stabilizer at that price would only protect just one AC at best. A Mainline stabilizer would cost about 30-50K approximately if output exceeds 40Amps. So it really depends on multiple factors. Decision Points : 1. Is the requirement just for one or two devices or whole house - Since if whole house needs to be covered & if the house energy requirement goes above 20 amps at a time, its better to get a voltage protection device and not stabilizer 2. Is the problem of under/over voltage constant or intermittent - If the problem is constant then you need to get a stabilizer since if voltage is continuously problematic then voltage protection device will keep cutting off the power.
Do you know in west nobody uses stabilizer. Infact they mock people using stabilizer. Because in their countries voltage variation is very negligible or almost nil.

For medical use they dont waste money on stablizer or protectors they have online ups. All talk about range but nobody notice the collaboration of this stabilizers its between 5 to 10% and its has only stablizer as name its not provided stable voltage just 5 to 10% jump and its not good for expensive and sensitive equipment. One query about stabiliser operations: I use V Guard VWI400 for my 1-ton split type inverter aircon, and I know it’s normal for stabiliser to make occasional clicking sounds when I know it’s stabilising voltages, but the question comes when sometimes I hear and sense the a/c indoor unit speeding up or slowing down with the clicks. Is this normal? Or is the stabiliser malfunctioning?
If the ac is changing speed, it's very likely you have a non inverter ac. Or atleast the indoor motor is non inverter. Coming to your stabilizer, verify that the output voltage is between 210 to 250v. Any thing outside this range might harm the ac.

Hello sir , great video , please clear my doubt , i have a high end gaming pc and sometimes in my area i can see lights flickering and my AC stabilizer makes noise. We have 4KW solar rooftop. Generally voltage is between 230-250V but during afternoon when solar is at peak (mostly between 12-2PM) voltage ranges from 245-265V. We have Luminous inverter in home and I have set it on UPS Mode so if voltage goes above 260V then power is switched to inverter. I'm thinking use both. Let me tell you why. Stabilizer job is increase or decrease voltage to good working range for your appliances . Ok. But every stablizer does not work front he range given or mentioned. So suppose a stablizer is 120v to 250v . But it will give output 200v from 150v input . So you can buy under over voltage protection and set the input and output voltage to the exact voltage at which stablizer is giving 200v output . In this way no matter what happens your stablizer will get current or supply of current only when input voltage is atleast 150v . So most of the time your output will be 200v . This is will be huge beneficial for air conditioner. 2nd scenario. You can use under and over voltage protector after voltage stabilizer. So first voltage stablizer gives out then that output goes to your under over voltage protector and whatever range you set you will only get that power for your devices which will never corrupt your devices like inverter.

सर, आप ने वोल्टेज प्रोटेक्टर और स्टेपलाज़र पर बहुत ही आ अच्छी जानकारी प्रदान की। जैसा की आप ने बताया कि वोल्टेज प्रोटेक्टर केवल high cut/ low cut करता है। वहीं स्टेपलाज़र भी वोल्टेज करेक्ट और high cut/low cut करता है मगर स्टेपलाज़र के साथ सबसे बड़ी समस्या ये है कि ये पूरी तरह वोल्टेज को स्थिर नहीं रखता बस उसे करेक्ट करने का प्रयास करता है। online ups के साथ समस्या ये है कि ये सब काम कर देता है। वोल्टेज प्रोटेक्टर, स्टेपलाज़र का व CVT का मगर बैटरी जो बहुत महँगी होती है वो उपयोग में लानी होती है इसे boot/चालू करने के लिए भले ही आप बाद में सावधानी पूर्वक बैटरी के कनेक्शन खोल दे आप को बैकअप नहीं मिलेगा मगर प्योर व स्थिर करंट मिलेगा। प्रश- क्या मार्केट में ऐसा कोई स्टेपलाज़र उपलब्ध है क्या जो पूरी तरह प्योर और स्थिर आउटपुट जैसे 230 या 240 वोल्ट देता हो, शायद नहीं।

I would like to mention one critical thing. The "working range" given on most of the stabilizers is a gimmick of sorts.
You would expect that a stabilizer with a working range of 170-270v would keep the output b/w 200-250v as long as input is b/w 170-270v and cutoff the supply if voltage falls below 170 or goes beyond 270. But the cutoff usually doesnt happen at the right voltage which increases the chances of your appliances getting too low or too high of a voltage. A microtek stabilizer i had (170-270) didnt cut off till 130v and was outputting around 150v at 130v input which is dangerous.
For people having grid voltage between 200-250v 90%+ of the time i suggest get the cutoff device instead of a stabilizer since it would atleast reliabily save you from dangerous voltages. Set high and low cutoff of the device at 200 and 250 respectively since this voltage range is safe for appliances.
If your grid voltage is outside this range more than 5-10% of the time then you need a stabilizer and protection relay both.

Maybe for those who are in Torrent power I heard the voltage is very stable and grid pe bharosa kar sakthe hai :-P Power lines are udnerground and the Transformers have voltage protectors in it. Yes there is another scenario where it can be used. My ac can operate from 90 to 280 volts. My refrigerator can operate without stablizer from 100 to 270 volts.
I am here on this video because at night voltage goes upto 267 and I think it goes above 270 and my refrigerator cuts off. I had to repair my fridge twice.
Here I guess for my ac we can set it to cut at 280 volts. If all your appliances are stablizer free you can put this just for extra safety of other equipment like lights fan etc.

The conclusion was not the best. You cannot say that voltage stabilizer will cost just Rs.300/400 more. Since a voltage protector would be rated upto 63Amps but a stabilizer at that price would only protect just one AC at best. A Mainline stabilizer would cost about 30-50K approximately if output exceeds 40Amps. So it really depends on multiple factors.
Decision Points :
1. Is the requirement just for one or two devices or whole house - Since if whole house needs to be covered & if the house energy requirement goes above 20 amps at a time, its better to get a voltage protection device and not stabilizer
2. Is the problem of under/over voltage constant or intermittent - If the problem is constant then you need to get a stabilizer since if voltage is continuously problematic then voltage protection device will keep cutting off the power.

We don't need stabilizers anymore because modern SMPS' are built to withstand a huge range of voltage fluctuations... Equipments are mostly damaged by spike/surge of extreme high voltage which lasts milli-seconds but enough to destroy appliances, voltage stabilizers are slow to react to such spikes...

For medical use they dont waste money on stablizer or protectors they have online ups. All talk about range but nobody notice the collaboration of this stabilizers its between 5 to 10% and its has only stablizer as name its not provided stable voltage just 5 to 10% jump and its not good for expensive and sensitive equipment. Qnd main line stablizer is garbage you cant gerantee weather stablizer will work fine in any condition if its fail and bosst in place of downing the voltage it will demage you electronics.

One query about stabiliser operations: I use V Guard VWI400 for my 1-ton split type inverter aircon, and I know it’s normal for stabiliser to make occasional clicking sounds when I know it’s stabilising voltages, but the question comes when sometimes I hear and sense the a/c indoor unit speeding up or slowing down with the clicks. Is this normal? Or is the stabiliser malfunctioning?
If the ac is changing speed, it's very likely you have a non inverter ac. Or atleast the indoor motor is non inverter.
Coming to your stabilizer, verify that the output voltage is between 210 to 250v. Any thing outside this range might harm the ac.

We have 4KW solar rooftop. Generally voltage is between 230-250V but during afternoon when solar is at peak (mostly between 12-2PM) voltage ranges from 245-265V. We have Luminous inverter in home and I have set it on UPS Mode so if voltage goes above 260V then power is switched to inverter. Hi, i bought an inverter in May. Problem is, my PC requires the most power to run but voltage in my area is not stable since a few weeks so my inverter keeps shutting off especially when i am running my PC and drains the battery. Electrician checked and the voltage was 260-270 variable. How can i solve this? Ups mode mein inverter battery kha jata hai and Eco mode mein PC band ho jata whenever spike happens. Please advice.

Hey, The video was informative. I have a question, Few months back the power line in our street got broken suddenly due to a truck. Many of the devices in my home got damaged and stoped working permanently including Routers and chargers. I'm thinking use both. Let me tell you why. Stabilizer job is increase or decrease voltage to good working range for your appliances . Ok. But every stablizer does not work front he range given or mentioned. So suppose a stablizer is 120v to 250v . But it will give output 200v from 150v input . So you can buy under over voltage protection and set the input and output voltage to the exact voltage at which stablizer is giving 200v output . In this way no matter what happens your stablizer will get current or supply of current only when input voltage is atleast 150v . So most of the time your output will be 200v . This is will be huge beneficial for air conditioner.
2nd scenario. You can use under and over voltage protector after voltage stabilizer. So first voltage stablizer gives out then that output goes to your under over voltage protector and whatever range you set you will only get that power for your devices which will never corrupt your devices like inverter.
