Love the amount of people that dare to say the song was saved by this version or that the original is “bad”, one thing is recognizing the beauty of this version and how great it sounds with this more down to earth, stripped down, honest feel to it, something else is feeling so bratty and conceited about your “musical taste”, that anything pop instantly becomes trash or worthy of no respect to you, to the point of pretending the song even changed that much just because of the cover; it had to be written, lyrics and melody, and could be sang a thousand different ways, if it sounds good this way, it’s also cause there already was a good base; saying it is originally bad just cause it’s “pop” or became mainstream is disrespecting who wrote it, music in general and just yourself really, so, after all of this, and recognizing that thank god a lot of people don’t think this way, I just still felt the need to speak to the people who so firmly lock themselves behind labels and genres, and ask them to please be less hateful and more open, and to listen to music for what it is and not what it makes of you
