I discovered this instrument awhile ago and became enchanted. I had to get one for myself but I wanted to do some more research. It's really difficult to find good hulusi resources. Thank you for this video!

Thank you so much!! I love the distinct sound, and I really appreciate you folks going over the different types of materials hulusi are made of.

Very interesting! I tried a hulusi a while ago (a cheaper one) and fell in love. Here in Germany it's not easy to get informations about the different types of this instrument/different materials, or to find a seller. So ... Good to know that in the future I can get one at your store. :) By the way ... I would have appreciated a sound example of all the higher notes of each hulusi. Because to my knowledge the higher notes often sound not so clear as the low ones, at least on cheaper hulusis, and it would have been interesting to hear how this hulusis sound in the higher octave.

Love the drone sound in the Hulusi. Do you carry the F, and does it come with the 2 tones?

  • @lachlanjohnson9884

Let me clarify some points: There are Hulusi in the keys of(that I know of and own):

  • @PaulAdamssongs

    The Hulusi I have says it's in the key of G. But the notes w all holes covered start at D E F# G A B D E. So if I buy a HUlusi in F will the notes be pretty much the C scale: C D E F G A C D?

How long does a hulusi reed last?

I received a halusi as a gift. It is used. I can't get it to play a scale. I thought maybe it was a reed problem and when I looked at the reed the point end pointed down. I had looked at a video on adjusting the reed and the point ended pointed up. Could this be the problem?

You didn’t mention anything about the reed..Does it need to be replaced like a sax? is it cane or a plastic? What other Key are available? Does it require much maintenance?Thank you for the presentation.
