A tip from someone who is in the late game, DO NOT TAKE CHARCOAL FOR GRANTED, if you see some in the mines go mine it all! For the last ore, you will need 16 coal to cook them to 1 bar. I have mine like almost 2k charcoal but it was gone when I blinked LMAO.
ohhh yes. also the mines get more charcoal per vein each time, last mines have 12-24 charcoal each vein. I just went through 1k charcoal in 1 minute last time I played.
I've just created it from twigs, I constantly end up with like over 1k twigs and nothing to use them for. Basically have stopped mining it entirely.
Thanks for helping raise money for cat protection i used to volunteer years ago with them. I didn't even get notified of the event so I missed it, but I just finished watching then this popped up 😊it's a Gooobers day. I have 3 kitty's Spudnik,Ozzy an Tigy. ❤.❤
I got the game because of this stream, then I spent all weekend playing co op with my sister. I'm having so much fun. Thank you both!
The archaeologist profession might be a bit more interesting than the other careers, because it seems to relate to the earthquake lore more. The person who instructs you is the pretty witch lady, she drops a few hints about the impending doom from whatever caused the quake. I'm not far enough to know if it's just ultimately fluff, or will be important for the plot, but wanted to mention. Upgrading the whip gives "archaeology lives", which means you have a few more chances before you lose the items for good, so it's not AS hard as it initially seems. The later temples are much harder though, so it's def necessary!
Bunnies eat weeds off crops and plowed land. Chickens will eat beetles off your crops, but attract foxes, and if you feed them hay they lay eggs. (I needed 2 coupes because there are so many beetles.) Goats chase away foxes and provide milk if you feed them hay. Pigs create fertilizer. I don't have the cows yet as the final gear upgrades cost 250k each. ;p Each type of fertilizer is for the 5 produce types of that tier. (Yup 20 types of fruit & veggies to grow.) Each seed shows up in the town shop after you harvest the previous one.

The garden hose is really good and lets you quickly water a large area, good for when you don't yet have the materials for a sprinkler.
If you "remove" a crop or fruit tree, you get the seed back and can plant it elsewhere.
If you use a foe to forage things like mushrooms and berries, you get a chance of extra yield like with crops (I'm pretty sure?) and the same visual indicator as with an axe.
Feeding trough is practical for feeding lumas and farm animals (grass). You'll need a lot of Luma Essence later, a luma hut + trough filled with luma food is great for that.
Can confirm the hoe has a chance of extra yield with mushrooms and flowers! Also- as you upgrade it, the luck stat will increase, so you'll get bonus yields more often the higher you level the hoe.
Will also add that each player can pet all the Lumas once per day- so Gab can pet both her penguin and Eeowna's crab for 2 Luma essence, and Eeowna can pet both as well for 2 more. Feed them both every day for an extra 2, and just having these first two Lumas (with 2 players) means an intake of 6 Luma energy per in-game day!

Also ~ rabbits will eat weeds that grow around your crops and trees :) good to fence them into a plot of crops to look after and maintain (=less weed pulling) 🍀🐇❤

There's a game called Chants of Sennaar that I think you might really like. It's about decoding made up languages and it's pretty cool. I think you might like it for when you're looking for a chill puzzle-type game, like some parts of Nancy Drew. Maybe you'd want Sean or someone with you to bounce ideas off of, or just by yourself with chat.

I LOVE this playthrough with the two of you. I'm just about to ask the husband if he wants to dive into Luma obsessively with me today. We loved playing Stardew multiplayer and this looks super fun. Especially since I'm the kind of punk who skips all the cutscenes in FFXIV.
I'm addicted to this game (really ever since I saw you play the demo) and it's so cozy! though the further you get the less cozy and harder/grindier it gets which is less great but it's still super fun to play while watching you two enjoy yourselves!

there’s a new game called “Harold Halibut” the game is a narrative-based adventure video game in which players control Harold, a janitor on a spacecraft submerged in an alien planet, and complete odd tasks for the ship's inhabitants. it’s entirely stop motion, took 10 years to make. its storyline is amazing and is not what it seems at first. would love to see u play it!!!
Your pet or luma will only make continuous noises if they are standing on treasure spots. Some pets also jump when on those spots. You need the tokens from those chests to upgrade tools, so don't ignore them too often!

Dreadful past week. Severe back pain and nausea from the medication. Work's laptop died, so even if I could sit at my desk, I'd not be able to do anything. Recently built fence panels knocked down by stormy weather.
The only slight consolation was lots of time layed in bed with a teddy to cuddle. But even that was painful.😫😨🤮
And then suddenly this series pops up.

If you have more than one luma pet you can swap them out at the start of each day and get multiple luma energy. If you both decided to do a Core Keeper stream that would be GREAT!
I love this series. I tend to watch your horror games during the morning so by night I dont end up with nightmares. I breastfeed my 8 week old and I really enjoyed watching this cozy video during my 3-4 am breastfeed and pump. It just made the time fly by as I got both things done as well as kept me cozy and sleepy enough to head right back to sleep now! Im living vicariously through you playing this game right now!

You don't need to be holding the fertilizer in your hand to use it. As long as you have some in your inventory you can just click on the tree to fertilize it~ Lovely stream!! I've been absolutely addicted to this game.

I am surprised a whip is the only weapon you have in this game. I figured some of the careers would have alternatives. Like the Pirate one would have a sword or the Chef a frying pan... for the Drinks?... Um, bottles? I don't know on that one

Right? I always bought 10-20 of each seed to start. Seeing them buy like 3-5 each time has been a little painful. "The farmer stuff seems slow to progress" gee, I wonder why that is, lol.
@animeartist888 minimum of one tree type was 8 seeds for me! I wouldn’t be able to function with only three of one tree type. Learned that the hard way while waiting for the apple tree to grow over and over so I could get ten apples for the pie lol
I don't know if I did it right.. lol I just put Chicken Coop and Bunnies together so the Weeds and Critters will not attack the plants.. Thanks for making Luma Island a series.. 🤗

I got this game cause of you! It seemed like the same kind of fun as Stardew Valley, and yeah, it absolutely is. I love having your playthrough on in the background so it feels like I'm playing with someone.

I thought people were exagerating when talking about the lumas that they got, but I started playing today and my first egg got me a grypho and my second one gave me a dinasour with glasses-
Yes, definitely upgrade your tools and whip whenever you can. My axe and pick are at around (I lost count) level 14 or so. Most trees, boulders, and minerals need only two chops. My whip is around level 16 and I can kill the spiders and snow men with one swing. The spiders in the more advanced caves are faster, smarter, and harder to kill, but I can still one shot one kill them. I no longer have arachnophobia. Lol😂

Turns out the game does have a bit of replay value, as you can only have 3 of the jobs, per run through. So that's good for at least 3-4 runs. The archeology is hard, you don't even understand how many times you die until you drop the artifacts if you die 3-4 times in a given room. Happy hunting! :) You should also ask your buddy to give you all her pirate items, since only the treasure hunter uses those items. I'm doing "treasure hunting, jeweler & archeology" as my 3 jobs, so I can sell all my produce from farming & fishing. The mysterious you can buy are the ones you already have for multiplayer so each player can gain a full set.
Only 3? I already have more professions than that, and I haven't seen a limit so far, it's just increasingly expensive.

the gartner thing is absolutely true lol. I have thought I pulled up weeds so many times and then I pulled out a plant that was supposed to stay there. I personally do it a lot if I'm trying a new crop from seeds and I don't know what they look like then they come up (I don't plant in rows)

BTW something I noticed about the pigs: they only seem to produce fertiliser and ginger if given access to farmland for some reason. I haven't seen that mentioned anywhere in the description and all my crops are neatly fenced off, so I thought initially they were bugged.
Use your hoe on the mushrooms and flowers in the wild, there is a Luck stat that increases the number of items that drop on occasion.
That tea does sound delicious and I'm not really a tea person
