I really have to give it up for Max. I've now seen him play for Death To All and Cynic within the last 6 months and the dude effortlessly handled all of Chuck's distinctly different voices from the SBG guttural sound to the refined sound of the Human-Symbolic run as well as the nearly black metal snarl of TSOP. He also did a phenomenal job of matching the growls heard on Focus plus he played all the solos extremely well. The dude is just a rare talent and nothing short of it.

I SO wish I would've discovered Cynic earlier. It would've been epic to see Sean Malone or Sean Reinert play live. I discovered this band just last summer. I was repeatedly recommended the Focus album by a coworker of mine. I finally gave in & listened to it. Now I'm hooked on Cynic. Lol. He invited me to a concert of theirs in down Salt Lake City. It was simply fucking blissful. 🙂🤘
Kudos to the band for delivering a good standard of performance and bravely filling those immense shoes left vacant by the passing of metal's greatest rhythm sections.
Pretty cool you were there to film both this and Helloween a couple weeks ago. Didn't figure there'd be much overlap other than me 😅. There were some weird sound issues with the guitars in Cynic's set; but otherwise a great show. 👍
Thank you for capturing this!! I bought a ticket before realizing it was on Father's Day, and I ended up selling it. I've not been the Vet's Hall yet. Do they have a balcony?
Cynic one of my favorite bands of all time. Some parts were a bit off, and I’m not sure what the drummer was doing at the ending of how could I, but I wasn’t feeling that groove.
unfortunely cynic nowadays dont sounding as good as with the orignal line up..I mean there is no the same precison...and digital sounds of the guitars...but I still like the Cynic
The show was added late and there must’ve been like 50-70 people there? It was great, but the placement of the speakers were terrible and the sound wasn’t on point
Why are the guitars literally non-existent? It's all drums and a little bit of vocals. Is it because they use in-ear monitors and literally have no real amps and cabs on stage? It's so damn quiet man, almost alienating.

His band Exist is nothing short of amazing. Has very strong cynic influences, too. So I highly recommend everyone to check them out
He looks like Chuck too
And to top it off none of Jason's parts had vocals in mind either
100% agree. Saw both last year and I am so happy with his performance. Exist is awesome too.
@@alemotapenn just saw them tonight, mins blown!!! Mike Gilbert was on guitar and he killed it!
Incredible. Cynic continuing helps to keep the musical legacies of Sean Reinert and Sean Malone alive.
Nice background with Malone / Reinert, Respect ❤

thx for sharing what a unique band
HOW DID I NOT KNOW THIS SHOW WAS HAPPENING.........
at least you FILMED it....
This is art❤
they put on a good show. well done. thanks for the upload

Glad they opened with Veil of Maya . 🤘🙏
" Vail Of Mia " is such a sick track, love the riffs and drumming is epic !!! RIP, Sean 🙏
The while Focus album is legendary 👊🏻💥👊🏻
Paul should have put S.F. on the calender for such a special event. Thanks for filming.
Damn! Max is in Cynic too??? Holy crap. Love the backdrop. 🤘🤘🤘
Saw them last night and it was a good show. Took a pic with Paul and also got a vinyl of Focus since those are hard to come by.
Paul gives me the vibes that he's super humble and appreciative
Muito foda... show!
Damn if i went there and saw Reinert&Malone on the banner i would have just started crying ...

Max is a gift !
This drummer is trying so hard but it’s impossible to hear these songs without Sean. Such large shoes to fill
drummer doing well i would not be worried
I was there!!! Did anyone else notice maxs guitar cutting in and out during the set.... Athiest fucking destroyed that day too
Holy shit! Paul has aged massively of late...
If that's anything to go by, I should probably worry being only three years younger :/

True, but this is so much better than nothing. I am still enjoying this video more than the police allows!
@@u.v.s.5583 yes of course
dude we wont have this so thx for that
How did he say "celestial voyage" before getting to the mic?
Playback. Lots of bands use stuff like that nowadays, for better or worse.
Sounds like a small crowd. Surely not for such a great band...

sorry matt, but that was a poor performance on your behalf. no emotion, just plain boring.
Totally agree mate.. From the first track, the drummer makes too many mistakes.. I'm disappointed by Matt's performance, it's a shame..
Do it better then.
@@returntozero2112that's a dumb comment, musicians can suck and that's natural, maybe he had a bad day.
@@LudMartyTaylor what kind of mistakes?
Eminem on drums

I was there and ya. The guitar mix was awful at that venue.... :( bummer but I still enjoyed the show and met Paul.
