    Thank you for this beautiful capturing of the power, wisdom, and love that manifests in ecovillages all over Europe. I hope many more people may feel the spark of this movement and join us in the regeneration of our communities, and of our planet. Thank you!!

    Eco Community is so important, and this is an important film about the scope of some of the communities that have and are evolving - thank you! I especially liked the talks of the man from Tamara about ecological design and how to create sustainable communities - the practical and social applications they are developing, and the great need to share their work with the larger world. Got a bit annoyed with the continual imagery of people in circles hugging or whatever, to be honest.

    As an expat I can relate to these stories.. my job gave me a sense of community but the country I was living in gave me a constant stream of challenges that helped me grow. From the xenophobe stranger on the street to fitting in a system without the rule of law, everything is a challenge, but I was able to adapt. Only one challenge cannot be solved, and that is the fact that I am essentially living in a prison. I am learning prison skills, having prison relationships, a prison hustle, prison privileges. But one day I will leave this prison and my day to day learning will reveal itself to be useless unless I am smart about it. I will have to face a skill mismatch unless I prepared for it. So I started looking for a way out. I started using large amounts of the electricity provided by my employer to mine large amounts of crypto and learning about renewables. I will complete a PGCert with the University of London next year. Hopefully, my next step will be to leave this behind and move to an intentional community where I can get the help I need to set up a green crypto mine.

    I need to dig out my old tie-dyed clothes, sandals and peace signs. We did this in the 60's and it works for a while until everyone decides they wanted more than what they can get in the commune or when they needed a real doctor or hospital or when they want the power to control the others.

    Thanks for this very inspiring film. There seems to be a major flaw in this movement though : the lack of ethnic diversity. Throughout the video (and I've seen this in other testimonials about intentional communities and ecovillages), there are only white people! How can we ambition to grow this movement if this is concerning only a part of the population? Would be happy to hear your thoughts on this and learn about how communities are tackling this issue. Thanks a lot!

    • @kitcassim4156
      @kitcassim4156 2 роки тому

      What if white people are diverse and contain hundreds of cultures, ethnicities, identities, religions, etc? What if there are hundreds of variations of tones and hues to the "white' color of skin? I'm getting tired of this mainstream news narrative that seeks to guilt and shame everyone if you are not part of a group that has every variation of skin color (like an H&M commercial). This secular ideology is becoming in an of itself a form of racism and I'm witnessing it cause new traumas on peoples' psyches in America. By lumping everyone who does not have black skin into one group identity; "white people". It's also not a coincidence that corporations benefit the most from this enforced skin color diversity bc it makes it easier for them to advertise to a broader customer base. Don't know where you are from but this shaming tactic is corroding and dividing America in ways that may take centuries to heal or lead to a civil war. It might give you a momentary high to signal how virtuous you are to this group of people who are legitimately making a difference in the world in an authentic way, but this form of what I sense is communal narcissism is not sustainable.

    • @hubertjosephposadas2643
      @hubertjosephposadas2643 2 роки тому

      I did notice the same thing. I think it maybe because of group psychology. It's the collective conscience of the caucasians since the dominant system that consumed the planet and traditional communities came from them.
      Most others still connected to a relationship with the land and nature already have a culture that does that.
      So as an observer the mimicry of circles, communal gatherings etc look familiar but will of course be informed by the psyche of their group psychology.
      It is easier on the psyche to move forward and "reinvent the wheel" rather than face the shadow of the past.
      Im not casting any aspersions against this movement by the way. Merely pondering on what you pointed out and what I observed.

    Very touching and very inspiring, but I'm afraid this is not going to be the solution to make life better for the soon to be 10 billion humans on this planet with corporations still looking for oil and gas and huge countries such as China, India, the US and Russia still developping threatening militaries. One thing to keep in mind: if you gather a few like minded friends in a eco-village while the rest of manking keeps burning oil, you'll sink with them too. When temperatures on our planet will be too high to grow food they will be too high for everybody, whether you're some industrial grower with 1000 hectares or an eco-village. Isolating oneself from the rest of manking is an illusion. A smaller ship inside the bigger ship is not going to save you when the air is unbreathable and it's too hot on our planet to keep living.

    • @GENEurope

      There are many communities that don't require a large - or any - financial outlay to join. Some do ask for buy-in, but there are usually ways to spend time there first to see if it's the right place for you. Others offer work exchange, some pay rent, or money to a communal put, some don't...each community is different! The best thing to do is find the communities that you're most interested in and contact them directly to ask about their different options for getting to know them.
