I will usually rotate between the stock launcher and Nova. If it's a pixel, maybe it's a 50/50 split. On LG or Samsung I will use Nova or Niagara or something. Probably 80% of the time. I can't stand horizontal app drawers. I'm using oxygen OS for the first time and honestly I'm a little disappointed. You can't remove the Google discover feed without disabling the app. There's no landscape mode on the home screen. Some widgets are not available for some reason like shortcut maker. But the biggest thing for me is customizable gestures. I want to be able to double tap to prompt my remote control or a voice note or something etc...
Hey there, LOVE the video & I just bought the 1TB version. The phone is tremendous and I am REALLY DIGGING it right now. I am on Verizon and it runs on 4G, unfortunately I cant make/receive phone calls or send/receive text messages 😢 I even called Verizon and they asked me for my IMEI but unfortunately they can't find it. Fortunately I have a Honor Magic V2 as a back-up so I'm using that as my primary. KEEP up the GOOD WORK!!! 📱📱 🔥🔥🔥🔥 PS - I also had the Pixel Fold and while I liked the wider phone, like you said it was TOO HEAVY, so I am selling it now.
Pick up a mint sim for the low for 3 months so you can get the full experience. No commitment there get the lowest plan. I'm sure it's less than $50 for 3 months. I have 3 lines one is a mint and I've had it for 4 years.
I now have a Verizon line and no of doesn't run on Verizon. My oppo devices do not nothing works when I put the SIM on the vivo. I still have a T-Mobile SIM and a mint mobile SIM as well and they work fine there.
Hello I just found your channel I like that you give a preview of a lot of the premier Chinese phones. I've currently got a Samsung Z Fold 4 and a watch 6 classic. I'm generally happy with the phone but my one main gripe is the size of it particularly the outside screen it's just to narrow I want a folding phone that has the same dimensions as a regular phone when closed. From what I'm seeing online it doesn't look like Samsung is gonna widen the phone by much at all that's a deal breaker for me so I'll probably be leaving Samsung originally I was thinking either One Olus or Pixel fold. But after watching your channel along with some others I'm really intrigued with some of these Chinese phones in particular the Vivo X 3 Pro and now that it has the global rom I'm even more interested. As far as hardware goes it's killing Samsung its got everything I want wider screen, bigger battery, faster charge, thinner build, and better camera. I know software wise Samsung probably has it beat but that doesn't bother me to much. I just had a couple questions to ask you if you don't mind, I have some hesitations with buying a Chinese phone one being what type of support do you get. If the phone starts having problems or even worse breaks is there any type of warranty can I send back to them for another? My other concern is regarding trade in value, I like to upgrade my phones every two to three years and one of the nice things with Samsung is they are usually pretty genereous with the trade in value. Considering that these folding phones are expensive do the Chinese ones have any type of trade in value? It would get expensive to have to keep buying them full price every few years. I don't know if you keep all your phones but I have no need for my old one once I buy another so if I could get some type of cash value it helps. And lastly do the Chinese phones with the global rom work on wear os I know you mentioned you haven't had a Samsung watch in years so you may not know but I was considering buying the new Galaxy watch ultra that's coming out but if it won't work with the Vivo then there would be no point. I'm sorry this message is much longer than I intended I appreciate any advice you could provide and thanks for all the content your putting out.
If you leave Samsung you will be leaving the samsung perks of trade ins. I often sale my phones to buy new ones. Due to the supply demand of these phones not being sold in US I typically don't have a problems selling to friends or listing on eBay or swappa. To follow up on what you said about wear OS typically these phones don't play well with wear OS. I don't feel like I'm missing anything because every watch I use now gets at least a week of battery life some get 2 weeks. It will depend on your use case for your watch. I use mine for notifications, to take some calls and to know when to check my phone. I don't use a watch as a secondary phone I carry 2 phones. Warranties (which I've never used btw) usually come from the seller. I use giztop and wondamobile both typically give you a warranty.
The more I hear people say their Open has great battery life the more I think my Open is a dud, With my Magic V2 I charge it every other day, with the Open its every half a day, also my Open doesn't charge fast
Yes you may have a dud I still have my open sold my V2 and it still functions like day one. My brother just picked up an open as well. Something is draining your battery I've never charged it daily. The lack of quick charge is odd too. How long you had it?

Not sure it is a rumor but they rumor they are coming every year. With the fast charging these foldables have now you don't need wireless charging sir. Furthermore you should get 2 days out of these newer folds EASY!
Btw: I had the oneplus open and was considering on buying the x fold 3 pro, but opt to get the vivo x100 ultra, I feel like I'll have more cases, better camera and better battery also. I'll give a chance to fordables again next year 😅
You can use a stylus on all phones that have Bluetooth (including the iPhone). There are tons on Amazon for reasonable prices. Does Vivo make one specifically for this device? No

I got mine since end of May and I'm blown away. This fold is incredible!! It replaced my flagship candybar and it's gonna be tough to get back to one after my white Vivo x fold 3 pro under Origin OS. So glad I didn't wait for the Funtouch's 💯 💪
Smart Launcher will stick if you sign up for the VIVO ID & then go to settings to set it up. I got Android Auto to finally work. It's tricky but it works & nope it's not going Global. Sorry. Samsung watch will work but it's tricky

@@SavageTechAustraliaGoogle Maps and Wallet worked for me instantly. I installed them, put in my credentials and they worked it Android Auto took some time to get it to recognize my car and phone. A buddy of mine that knows phones did something in my phone settings and it started working. At times it can be phenicky but it works

I recently received pro version but I noticed when I'm using camera and zooming etc some buzzing sound coming from inner unfold screen and back of camera module.it's noticeable only in quite place or if you have near by ear so if you have same.if no I will turn back.thanks
Just tested this out on my model and I don't get a buzzing sound. Sorry you are experiencing this. If you bought it locally I would return or exchange this phone.
Its mind blowing people still don't realize Samsung, Vivo, Huawei, Xiaomi, Honor magic, Google , One Plus, and Red Magic are superior to IOS . Android changed my life years ago and once you have things like stylus support , multi tasking , open os , samsung TV , IR Blaster , wireless screen casting , foldable innovation, no limitations etc you cant live without them Now if Samsung is lazy w the z fold 6 , I will buy either one plus open 2, vivo fold 3 pro , or honor magic v2 porsche edition
I got this phone and its amazing, very strange to hold compare to my galaxy z fold 3, as it very slim, I felt like it might break anytime soon due to the bulkiness that I am used to in galaxy z fold 3. The cameral and lots of features are amazing. Google pay works if only you use mastercard debit card to set it up. My mastercard work with it but when I wanted to setup my visa debit card it didn't work. Any visa will not work. Samsung watch wearable OS will not work with it. The pictures taken with the camera are amazing even in the dark. When making video in front facing camera its great even when you move. Unfortunately when making video with the back camera on motion it doesn't look good as such. I think software update might fix this. Overall superb. I hardly open it because the phone is easy to use without opening it. It has all the features that I need. I setup do not disturb mode in the phone and it allows me to add people incase of emergency. That call will be given priority over do not disturb, Any other calls will be silent, this is good when im sleeping but still want to keep my hear open if I have emergency call. The screen is big when playing game its amazing. Not sure maybe is the setting when watching video on facebook and want to slide it to fast forward, I struggle to get the slidder not other visible making it difficult for me to fast-forward. I have 2 phones before but now I need to ditch both phones out for this. Amazing phone, even with the little glitch I still love it. My 1tb storage is crazy.

To fix the launcher issue you need to go into settings - security - more security settings and replce the system launcher. And stop it from swapping back. But what are your speeds with T-Mobile? I get 15ish but wanna see if mint is any better That will keep the home screen
Thanks for the info! I haven't done a dedicated speed test. I never really do. I am not really in one area all the time besides home. My job has 2 locations and both are a bit of a commute. As long as I don't notice a difference in my service I'm a happy camper. Considering my last 2 phones were global devices and I haven't complained things are good in NC / SC for me. Location makes it or breaks it for most people. I sent an oppo to a friend in St Louis and he couldn't get 5g and I had no issue. Would mint be different they use T-Mobile towers and are now officially owned by T-Mobile now. I have both.

I did protect the outer screen and I wouldn't have down it on the inner one cause you're putting some weight on the protection film there is already... Anyway, nice video as always. Don't think you need the V2 anymore, go sell this one instead 😉
I add the matte protector not for extra protection but because of the finish that keeps you from having fingerprint residue. I sold the honor last month but thanks for the insight lol. Have a great weekend and thanks for watching.

The case flipping that protects the foldable part of the phone and comes a bit over the outer screen. My friend's X Fold 3 pro is scratched cause of it... Are u using the original case provided in the Vivo box? Didn't u face this problem as well?!? 🤔
@@daouei Unfortunately, the hinge cover of the official case does scratched the outer SP (screen protecter), It's a known issue. In China, vivo provides replacment case and new film SP for free. But I doubt that will happen in France, cause there's no global launch😥 You can change the SP film by youself though, or use glass SP. Or buy a third-party case, I use a carbon fiber case myself, it's lighter and doesn't scratches the SP.
You think it's worth upgrading to the x fold 3 pro from the OnePlus open here in the US? I have a Samsung s24 ultra that I have my main sim in and use mainly because of the camera. My open I use as a complimentary device at the moment and use my mobile hotspot to give data to the OnePlus open.
@@GadgetGoddess obviously everything is subjective. I've heard really great things about Vivo's cameras and image processing. Regardless I like carrying around 2 phones now a foldable and traditional candybar phone.

Well I am on WiFi calling when I have WiFi if I am at home or at work. I do have a phone signal as well and connections to 2 WiFi devices when home just 1 at work.

Stock launcher all day long! I would think you would LOVE Nova if you like your phones to work for you. Nova can't fix your Oxygen issue?

Did you finally get an explanation about the technical reason for issue on calls and SMS ? I suppose ther is a lack of a band of transmission ?

Just vivo Sans and a Chinese font are in the phone. Other Chinese fonts can be downloaded.

Depends on where you live. Wondamobile I had the phone in 2 days giztop was just as fast at one point… now a week or less.

I would like AA to work and google wallet and google maps timeline.

@@SavageTechAustraliaGoogle Maps and Wallet worked for me instantly. I installed them, put in my credentials and they worked it Android Auto took some time to get it to recognize my car and phone. A buddy of mine that knows phones did something in my phone settings and it started working. At times it can be phenicky but it works

Love the phone just it's a shame about the Android auto I was reading that vivo may also add AA I to there china roms in the near future.

Hi . can you please do one favour owners of vivo x fold 3 or pro. I recently received pro version but I noticed when I'm using camera and zooming etc some buzzing sound coming from inner unfold screen and back of camera module.it's noticeable only in quite place or if you have near by ear so if you have same.if no I will turn back.thanks
Just tested this out on my model and I don't get a buzzing sound. Sorry you are experiencing this. If you bought it locally I would return or exchange this phone.

Its mind blowing people still don't realize Samsung, Vivo, Huawei, Xiaomi, Honor magic, Google , One Plus, and Red Magic are superior to IOS . Android changed my life years ago and once you have things like stylus support , multi tasking , open os , samsung TV , IR Blaster , wireless screen casting , foldable innovation, no limitations etc you cant live without them
Now if Samsung is lazy w the z fold 6 , I will buy either one plus open 2, vivo fold 3 pro , or honor magic v2 porsche edition
You are far more loyal than I am after the Z Fold 3 I was done. Apple people like the same thing or similar they will remain over there.
I got this phone and its amazing, very strange to hold compare to my galaxy z fold 3, as it very slim, I felt like it might break anytime soon due to the bulkiness that I am used to in galaxy z fold 3. The cameral and lots of features are amazing.
Google pay works if only you use mastercard debit card to set it up. My mastercard work with it but when I wanted to setup my visa debit card it didn't work. Any visa will not work. Samsung watch wearable OS will not work with it.
The pictures taken with the camera are amazing even in the dark. When making video in front facing camera its great even when you move. Unfortunately when making video with the back camera on motion it doesn't look good as such. I think software update might fix this.
Overall superb. I hardly open it because the phone is easy to use without opening it. It has all the features that I need. I setup do not disturb mode in the phone and it allows me to add people incase of emergency. That call will be given priority over do not disturb, Any other calls will be silent, this is good when im sleeping but still want to keep my hear open if I have emergency call.
The screen is big when playing game its amazing.
Not sure maybe is the setting when watching video on facebook and want to slide it to fast forward, I struggle to get the slidder not other visible making it difficult for me to fast-forward.
I have 2 phones before but now I need to ditch both phones out for this. Amazing phone, even with the little glitch I still love it. My 1tb storage is crazy.

I stated it in the video. My Xiaomi and my Huawei watches work fine. It is the ESim limited edition but ESim does not work for me in the US.
To fix the launcher issue you need to go into settings - security - more security settings and replce the system launcher. And stop it from swapping back.
But what are your speeds with T-Mobile?
I get 15ish but wanna see if mint is any better

Thanks for the info! I haven't done a dedicated speed test. I never really do. I am not really in one area all the time besides home. My job has 2 locations and both are a bit of a commute. As long as I don't notice a difference in my service I'm a happy camper. Considering my last 2 phones were global devices and I haven't complained things are good in NC / SC for me. Location makes it or breaks it for most people. I sent an oppo to a friend in St Louis and he couldn't get 5g and I had no issue.
Would mint be different they use T-Mobile towers and are now officially owned by T-Mobile now. I have both.

I did protect the outer screen and I wouldn't have down it on the inner one cause you're putting some weight on the protection film there is already... Anyway, nice video as always. Don't think you need the V2 anymore, go sell this one instead 😉
I add the matte protector not for extra protection but because of the finish that keeps you from having fingerprint residue. I sold the honor last month but thanks for the insight lol. Have a great weekend and thanks for watching.

The case flipping that protects the foldable part of the phone and comes a bit over the outer screen. My friend's X Fold 3 pro is scratched cause of it... Are u using the original case provided in the Vivo box?

@@daouei Unfortunately, the hinge cover of the official case does scratched the outer SP (screen protecter), It's a known issue. In China, vivo provides replacment case and new film SP for free. But I doubt that will happen in France, cause there's no global launch😥
You can change the SP film by youself though, or use glass SP. Or buy a third-party case, I use a carbon fiber case myself, it's lighter and doesn't scratches the SP.

You think it's worth upgrading to the x fold 3 pro from the OnePlus open here in the US? I have a Samsung s24 ultra that I have my main sim in and use mainly because of the camera. My open I use as a complimentary device at the moment and use my mobile hotspot to give data to the OnePlus open.

Yeah but I don't care for Samsung cameras over the Open so you might feel the same about the vivo. You might like the Open cameras over the vivo.
@@GadgetGoddess obviously everything is subjective. I've heard really great things about Vivo's cameras and image processing. Regardless I like carrying around 2 phones now a foldable and traditional candybar phone.

Well I am on WiFi calling when I have WiFi if I am at home or at work. I do have a phone signal as well and connections to 2 WiFi devices when home just 1 at work.
