What an excellent and comprehensive tutorial! You have broken it down into easily understood steps. I really appreciate it and I know others will too. The mic feature is why I bought this keyboard. The customizable effects are really a surprise, considering the price point. I also am using a Sure mic and I'm glad you mentioned the new mic that works so well for you. I look forward to that review also. Another great video! 😊 Thank you...
Thanks so much, glad you liked the video! The mic feature is also what put this keyboard over the top for me buying it, and I’ve been super impressed - it’s making recording videos way less work!
Trying to decide which keyboard to buy and a mic output is one of the features I need. There is so little information out there in the UA-camverse about this. Thank you for the very detailed explanation (some of it was over my head). I foresee coming back and watching this video several more times once I have my E473 up and running.
Glad the video was helpful! Make sure you have a dynamic (not condenser) mic and that the cable is 1/4” TR (not trs). Thanks for checking out the channel feel free to subscribe
Yeah! That mic button to turn reverb off or mute is fantastic. I've performed for years and dealt with vocal effects being on or off during a performance, and sure, there are ways, but none are as easy as this or as reliable. And the fact that I can send files with vocals directly to a computer, that's awesome. Thanks, I will subscribe and keep watching your videos as I wait for my keyboard to show up.
Yeah it’s such a simple small thing to add but omg so useful! And the built in audio interface is also a feature that doesn’t get talked about nearly as much as it should - I had a Yamaha P125 that had that, and it made it so much better than the competition. Roland finally added that into their FP-X upgrades to the FP line, but Casio still isn’t including it (no idea why). Thanks for subscribing hope your keyboard arrives soon!
Great review on the Yamaha e473 and ew425. I have been spending a substantial amount of time researching the different makes of electronic type of piano/arrangers to purchase for my daughter who is a song writer and performer. She will only use the instrument for song writing and said a more complete key board (76 keys) and recording functions is most important but now with the mic offered in these 2 key boards checks all the boxes and much, much more. I have been struggling with price points, trying to stay under $300 but (thanks to this video and the overall , comprehensive tutorial) knowing what I do now, I feel the EW425 is the perfect choice which makes paying the extra money justified. Again, greatly appreciate your expertise.
Thanks so much, glad you found the reviews helpful! I'm sure she will love the 425, it really is a fabulous keyboard. Thanks for checking out the channel, feel free to subscribe
What a great video! i tried 2 different mic's and thought i had to find a specific one and was very frustrated. watched your video and i found out i just had the gain turned all the way down! ha! even my wireless Gemini headset mic works PERFECT with this keyboard. What a great keyboard this is! I have the EW425. I don't even need the reverb pedal or the wired mic i just bought! great portability for performing anywhere, even on batteries! thanks!
Thanks so much, glad you found the video helpful! And yes the EW425 is a fabulous instrument. Thanks for checking out the channel, feel free to subscribe
@@PianoTone Thanks! One quick question... I'm having trouble connecting the USB to lightning to my phone or iPad, to record into GarageBand so it doesn't pick up my hands hitting the keys. It works SOMETIMES... but usually not. I don't think its the printer cable, i think something with the power its recieving. I have the USB to lightning camera adapter. Should i be using something else that can support USB-C or some kind of power, like a lightning to MIDI/printer cable? Seems like its not getting enough power. i have the usb to lightning with no extra power slot for a lightning to AC, maybe thats what i need? :( Thanks!
@@_boston_mac I've often run into frustration with connecting to GarageBand to record audio. Sometimes it can be if you have headphones connected to the iPad headphone port and it misinterprets that as another audio input. So since the USB audio interface sends audio in both directions, I monitor my recording using the headphones on the piano instead. I have an older video on that procedure if you want to check it out (the link starts at the part of the video with the demo); it's not on the E473/EW425 it's on my Yamaha P-125 but the steps are the same - if you need to turn off audio loop back when I mention it, that will be in your menu somewhere). I have not picked up the mic yet. I'm pretty sure I'll get a shure mic. I opted out on getting A sustain peddle for now. I'm still learning the functions of the PSR-E473. I know all the scales But I'm very rusty at playing the Keys. I was mostly a guitar player and Bass player. My views about the Keyboard. I like it a lot. After getting a proper stool and stand. It all cost me so far about $750 Canadian dollars. I would like to figure out how I can make up my own bass lines. So much to learn, I love it. @@midnightpassion43
@PianoTone, I did order one. I had purchased one off Temu, cheap blaaa. I will let u know how it works out when I get it Friday. Thanks for all your help.
Great video with awesome details. This is a great busking and performance keyboard. I am just learning how to use it now...do you have a video on using the backing track functions and DAW recording features?

I love you channel. I was debating between Yamaha dgx 670 and this one. After looking at your reviews I am convinced EW425 is the one for me for almost half the price. I do not need 88 keys. I am just a beginner this one is more than what I need. Thank you.
Thanks so much I appreciate that! And they are both great choices, but glad you chose the right one for you! Thanks again for checking out the channel, feel free to subscribe
Yikes that's not good! How long ago did you buy it? When they first came out there were complaints of that on the 473 (never heard any on the 425) then that seemed to stop being a topic in forums shortly after. I'd contact whoever you bought it from and if they can't help you contact Yamaha directly. Sorry to hear about that hope you can get it resolved!
Something to note: I ran across this today when I looked up display and the e473. Last year the E473 had issues with the Display not being broight all across it, light and dark spots on the screen. But comments I sawsaid the following. issue resolved: "Update Oct 2022 - Yamaha now has a permanent fix and new units no longer has this issue. The PSR-E473 remains massive value for money keyboard, you just need to get a replacement keyboard if you encounter this issue." So that is probably why both of these models are selling out so quickly in 2023. That and your excellent comprehensive review. :) I would have gotten the EW425 instead of the E473 but they were already sold out. I have to admit some of my decision was influenced by the fact that the Casio could be manufactured in China and Yamah manufactures in India. China is a gamble right now with their approach to the pandemic and isolating people rather than vaccinating them. And you're right the Mic played a major influence too. Thanks
Yeah I’d heard about that a while ago; there were a lot of posts at first then about the issue but it seems to have calmed down. I never owned a 473 but made a point of checking on display models in local stores and never saw the issue; also asked the keyboard manager at my store if he had heard anything about this and it was a no. Good to hear from Jeremy that Yamaha has corrected whatever the issue was!
@@PianoTone yeah the one thing I'm concerned about is I'm legally blind whether or not I'm going to be able to navigate the LCD and buttons. I almost got one of the weighted keyboards because it connected via an app on my smartphone to change settings I can invert color on my smartphone and read it. I'm hoping I can do the settings in the registry with some assistance save them for later. Does the registry save settings after you turn the keyboard off
Do you mean editing the rhythm? No you can’t do that you can just change the voices for each part or choose to mute them. Thanks for checking out the channel feel free to subscribe
Very nice and complete video. It answered all the questions in my head. Very calming voice. I am only curious about one thing. For example, if I want to put two microphones. Is it possible to just use a simple splitter (2 to 1 adapter). My guess is that mic signals would interfere each other. Anyway, what would you do in this situation if I want two mic input?
You could try a splitter and see what happens - I’m not sure if the amp on the keyboard might struggle with that or not. A simple mixer might work better but to be honest I’m not sure. I might try an experiment on this at some stage … Thanks for the kind words and for visiting the channel, feel free to subscribe
Hi there! Never heard of that but just looked it up - the PSR-SX 700/900 mic port is a combo mic / guitar (line) input (there is a switch to go back and forth). The PSR-EW425 and 473 don’t have that feature (so mic only) Thanks for checking out the channel feel free to subscribe
Ugh I don’t understand anything about mics… Is there any microphone that can plug both into my Mac and this piano? (Not simultaneously) I noticed that you’re replying to all comments, thank you in advance!! ❤
Take a look at the Samson Q2U (I have this mic and use it for everything now); it is a dynamic mic (connects to amps, keyboards, PAs) with either the include XLR cable or a 1/4" TR cable (or XLR to TR adapter - you need one of those for the 473/425 keyboard btw), but it is ALSO a USB mic so yes it could connect to your mac (assuming you have a USB port or USB hub for your mac). Did a review here: ua-cam.com/video/jqXEWLxd-qw/v-deo.html Thanks for checking out the channel, feel free to subscribe
Great video thanks! I have a quick question regarding the 1/4" plug for the mic. I just got the 473 last night and wanted to try the mic feature. I have a Shure 58 and an XLR to 1/4 TRS cable and tried to get sound but I could not. I tried all the settings. Do I need a TS and not a TRS 1/4 plug? Is that the problem? TIA
Mine is TS and it works great; I don't have a TRS mic cable to test with but that probably is the issue (as long as you've already checked the mic gain knob on the back to make sure it's up, the mic volume within the settings menu, and that you're not set to mute with the mic toggle button on the panel). I'm betting it is the TRS that's the issue; let me know if a TR fixes it! And thanks for checking out the channel, feel free to subscribe
i really want to know what organ voice you are using for "96 Tears". I have a PSR-e373 and I am not happy with the organ voices on it and the one you use for 96 Tears is one I would like.I am thinking of buying a EW425 because it is suposed to have better organ voices/tones. Thanks very much
Hello. Thank you for amazing explanation... What do you record onto? iPhone? so the sound of your piano and voice with effects goes directly to iPhone? what cable do I need? Do you explain it in other videos also? I'm trying to set up the simplest way to record myself life (possibly with the video and good sound with effects). Can you please help me to figure it out?
Yes just into an iPhone with a USB cable (like a printer cable) and a lightning adapter. And the phones built in camera app uses the direct clean audio instead of its built in mic. Thanks for the video! There are very few available that are at this caliber. Question: Are there any other peripherals, accessories, instruments, cell phone (has a mic....Just saying).....that is able to be used in the mic input 1/4 jack in the back of this keyboard? I've looked all over youtube to see if there are others trying this, and found absxxolutly NOTHING! Thanks again for the post. PLZ let me know somebody......I'm extremely curious. It's absolutely killing me.
Thanks so much glad you enjoyed the video! The input is set to a mic level not a line level, so it's not designed for line level instruments. I have a new Yamaha CK61 that allows you to configure your input as either mic or line and the mic input has FAR more gain on it, so connecting a line level instrument MIGHT work, bur probably isn't recommended. Hope that helps! Thanks for checking out the channel, feel free to subscribe
I bought the Samson Q2U Dynamic / USB Mic but failed to connect to EW425. What type of convertor are you using? Can you give me some recommendation? There are not problem connecting to a computer via the USB connector.
You need to connect it to the mic in port on the keyboard with a 1/4" mono/TR (one stripe not 2) mic cable like this one: geni.us/ZSMR, or there are also XLR to TR adapters as well. Hope that helps! Thanks for checking out the channel, feel free to subscribe
Have I understand it right, you dont get your microfon song Record, when you Record to the keyboard, but only to your USB device? And if that right, have can I Record was files to an USB device?
Yes when you record to the keyboard it is MIDI (so no vocals); when you record to USB you can record audio instead (which can include vocals) to wav files
Hi! Very good video! Can I connect a guitar to the microphone input or aux in? And thus record the guitar sound on the synthesizer. Or can this only be recorded on the pen drive? I want to make music that includes guitar.
I would have to try that to tell; I’m assuming you’d need to pre amp the guitar to get a strong enough signal, but that in turn might be dangerous to the port on the keyboard. And since you can only record multi track songs ON the keyboard as MIDI (no audio) you’d only be able to record the guitar to a flash drive anyways (and would then still need to move the wav file to a pc or tablet DAW to insert into a multi track song) so to be honest there isn’t much point in trying to use the keyboard for that. Hope that helps! Thanks for checking out the channel feel to subscribe
Hi there! The 463 also has an audio interface built into the USB port. I did a video here that might help: ua-cam.com/video/_1OaM1EgwWY/v-deo.html Thanks for checking out the channel, feel free to subscribe
Yamaha didn't give any hints with their voice names as to which are Rhodes vs. Wurly (I wish they would just include an R or a W!); my ear for differentiating electric pianos isn't great to be honest - I've linked to the EPs I demo within my review here: ua-cam.com/video/uDN0uMncuWc/v-deo.htmlsi=RkFOkmNi4gomoqKo&t=1305 Hope that helps! Loving your videos sir... i have owned a tyros 2 and recently bought tyros 4. I am tempted to sell the t4 as its bulky with speaker system , given the ew425 is an entry but level board, are the voices noticeably inferior to t4 ? I also have a Casio CTX5000 which i rather like for the Aix chip and portability...
Thanks so much! I've never played a Tyros before, but looking at the voice list for the Tyros 4 it looks like the main piano voice on the Tyros 4 is a "Super Articulation" grand piano sample which I THINK is upgraded from the Tyros 3 main piano sample which is the !Live Concert Grand sample found on the PSR-E373, E473 and EW425. I THINK that the super articulation piano on the Tyros 4 might be the main piano sound on the PSR-SX700 and 900 (but I could be wrong :) That being said I see many voices that appear to be common from the Tyros 4 and the EW425; many of the !Live !Sweet and !Cool voices look to be the same; whether they sound the same, better or worse on the E473/EW425 I don't know - the Tyros has 128 polyphony vs. 64 on the PSR's, but the PSR's processing is 10 years newer so that could make a difference as well. The Tyros 4 weighs 10 pounds more than the EW425 and that's without your speakers so you would definitely have a more portable option with the 425. Hope that helps! Thanks for checking out the channel feel free to subscribe
To be honest I don’t know of any; I know the Casiotone light up key CTS keyboard has a mic input but I would think it’s not as well implemented as on the Yamaha 473/425 Thanks for checking out the channel feel free to subscribe
Hi Tony, thanks very much for your videos on this keyboard I recently bought and I am quite happy I did. Your videos are clear and very helpful. I did try a microphone but sent it back, because it didn't work. I could not hear myself singing through my headphones. It might have been a volume matter. I maximized the gain knob, though. But in your video I learn about the volume setting in the function menu. It also was a rather cheap mic. My question: you have mentioned all the output capabilities, I suppose you get the microphone signal through your headphones as well?
Thanks a bunch, glad you're liking the videos! Yes the mic signal goes through the headphones, the speakers, the USB audio out and the line outs. What mic did you try - it needs to be a dynamic mic, not a condenser (condensers need phantom power, the keyboard doesn't have that). It needs to be connected to the mic input, not the aux in (I've had people ask me if the aux in works for the mic and it does not). Then there is the gain knob on the back, the mic volume within the menu, AND the toggle buttons on the keyboard itself to switch between talk (no effects) - vocals (effects) and mute (nothing). Hope that helps! Thanks again for checking out the channel feel free to subscribe
That was a very quick answer, Tony! Thank you very much. I don't own a microphone at the moment, but with your information I am confident to soon try it out again. Thanks again and the best of luck with your channel and your music! Theo (NL)
Question. It looks like the Mic you used and suggested has a USB connection. I thought the Mic port was a 1/4" port? Does it also come with a 1/4" connection or does it use up one of the USB ports?
Good eye!!! The mic is the Samson Q2U it has both XLR (to 1/4” on the keyboard) and USB which is why this mic has replaced multiple mics for me i use it for everything now! Did a review here if you want to check it out: Samson Q2U Dynamic USB Mic Review ua-cam.com/video/jqXEWLxd-qw/v-deo.html With the EW-425 you have to use the 1/4 mic input though, no USB mic option Thanks for checking out the channel feel free to subscribe
@@PianoTone Thanks, that was a quick response. Yeah, I already subscribed. I like your technical insights. I'm getting the E473. Does that not hae the USB input like you said fro the EQ-425? I would have gotten the EQ-425 but they were selling out. I hope I will be happy with the E473. My needs are jsut as a beginner. I checked out your Mic video. Thanks.
Ports (and almost everything) is identical between the 473 and the 425. Only differences are 425 has: - 76 keys. :) - better 2nd piano voice (main one is the same) - enhanced organ sounds - bigger speakers Other than that the same. And the onboard octave +/- buttons will make 61 keys way better than on the E463 where you had to dive into the menu to do that; when it’s easy the fewer keys are less of an issue
I'm still a little confused. The Mic came in but I don't have the keyboard yet. I need some clarification. as for the Mic input on the back, is it a 1/4" port or a XLR? The cords that came witht he Mic has a USB cord and one that is 3 pronged. I assume that the 3 pronged is XLR? But no 1/4" cord. I see you can buy an adapter from XLR 3 pronged to 1/4". So is there a XLR port on the keybaord or a 1/4"? I found the following. -- A microphone with a 1/4″ jack is usually a high-impedance, unbalanced mic. That means that the cable doesn't need to exceed 20′ or so. -- So that brought up a whole nother topic. What is balanced or unbalanced and is a XLR cord with adapter going to be Balanced or Unbalanced and does it even matter? But most important what is the port on back going to look like when I get my E473? Will it be 1/4" or XLR? Or is it a USB port? Oh, I forgot to mention, the Mic I got is the one you recommended the Samson through your link. Thanks.
Hi Tony I tried my mic in the keyboard for the first time today. I couldn't get any sound no matter the settings. I'm connecting my mic XLR cable to an Amazon Basics XLR female to 1/4 TRS male adapter. The only way I could get sound was if connecting the mic with the adapter through my mixer and connecting the mixer output using my (mono) guitar cable to the mic input on the keyboard. I can only assume that the XLR to 1/4" adapter I'm using being TRS or stereo is hindering the sound.... did you have any issue of the sort? Thanks.
What kind of mic? If it's a condenser mic it needs phantom power to work (which the keyboard won't provide but your mixer probably does). You need a dynamic mic for that port. As far as the adapter goes that could also be the issue; the mixer might be able to understand the TRS coming in whereas the keyboard might not. Assuming that is the issue, then I'd recommend getting a mic cable that is just XLR to TR (as opposed to an adapter) Hope that helps, let me know how it goes!
@@PianoTone it's actually a dynamic mic. I guess it's a stereo issue. I just ordered the same adapter but TS (mono) instead of TRS (stereo). If it doesn't work I'll try a cable. Will keep you posted. Thanks for your help.
@@PianoTone Hi Tony, I confirm that it's was the stereo adapter causing the issue. I received and tried the mono adapter today and it works like a charm without the mixer. Thanks.

Hello, I have a question. I just purchased the Yamaha PSP E473, I hooked a mic to it, I also purchased some headphones. But I don't think they work together. What am I doing wrong?
Hi there! Make sure it is a dynamic mic (not a condenser which won’t work), and there is also a gain knob on the back for mic input volume, there is a mic volume setting in the menu system as well, and don’t forget the toggle button on the front which switches between mic on with effects, mic on without effects and mic off. Hope that helps! Thanks for checking out the channel feel free to subscribe
Hey there! That was meant for the first time you set up the piano with a new mic not for every time you turn on the keyboard. Just to be on the safe side in case there are any issues with whatever mic you're connecting. Thanks for checking out the channel, feel free to subscribe
I have a Yamaha PSR-E473, and I can record the piano voice performance into the keyboard memory or a USB drive, but the vocals thru the mic input don't get recorded. I can record samples through the mic OK, but cannot hear the vocals in a saved user performance file. Is this keyboard capable of recording the vocal which come through the mic along with the piano voices?
Yes, the mic is included in any audio recordings/output (to a flash drive, through the L/R line outs going to an amp/audio interface, and through the USB to host port to an app/software recording audio). The mic is NOT recorded if you record a MIDI file to the keyboard (so if you just press "record" you are recording MIDI not audio so the mic will not be included). If you hold SHIFT and press RECORD then you are recording audio to the USB flash drive and the mic WILL be included. Hope that helps! Thanks for checking out the channel, feel free to subscribe
@@PianoTone WOW, thank you so much Tony. Holding "Shift" and Pressing "Record" allowed the mic signal to be recorded in "audio" mode, wonderful!! Sounds great, too. I happened on a JVC MV J3 dynamic microphone that was with an old karaoke machine that I had stored away in a closet. Going to try it out, and will let you know if it works or not. Thanks for your helpful videos and replies. (Edit: I just noticed that it's got a 1/8 inch connector. So I guess I'll need a 1/4 inch adapter to plug into the ew425. I'm also guessing that it's mono. Is that correct? Anyway, I'm now going to have to dig through my vast jumble of various electronic stuff to see if I have one. Might be easier to just get one from Amazon, I suppose.)
You can record vocals as part of an audio recording to a flash drive but not into the keyboards memory. You can also connect the keyboard to a device with usb and send audio (including vocals) to an audio track in a DAW. Thanks for checking out the channel feel free to subscribe
I'm so frustrated... I plugged in my dynamic mic and can't get any sound at all... and the shift-mic doesn't move between vocal/talk/mute. What am I doing wrong?
Hi there! There is a volume knob on the back, and you can also set mic volume in the function menu - make sure those are up, double check you’re using the correct port and then double check your cable is ok on something else. As far as the mic button not switching that sounds like a defect - you don’t see the menu display change when you hit it? Hope that helps! Thanks for checking out the channel feel free to subscribe
@@PianoTone It's a brand new cable. I don't see a volume knob on the back... only GAIN. Is it maybe because my mic is old? It's a Samson Q7... I've had it a long time. Does the keyboard only use certain microphones?
@@SandyFrazier That's fine to start with (to make sure it's not too loud when you first connect it) but you may have to turn the gain up - I had mine at probably 90%
You can’t add or remove voices from these keyboards. But almost all the sounds on the EW425 and E473 are identical (including the main piano sound). The only piano voice that is different is voice 2 which is better on the 425. There are also 10 organ voices that are enhanced on the 425. Thanks for checking out the channel, feel free to subscribe
@@PianoTone Thank you for explaining that voices can not be added to or changed, I just purchased the PSRE473, but I really like "piano voice 2" on the PSREW425 and thought maybe I could add it to the E473.
Is there a way to record vocals thru the mic and save it in one of the Tracks? I can save keyboards sounds to tracks, but cannot save audio from mic into a Track.
No - the tracks are MIDI tracks not audio tracks so no vocals there. If you wanted to use the midi tracks you’ve recorded with audio you would need to export the midi tracks into a DAW like GarageBand and then record the audio into GarageBand as an audio track.
@@PianoTone OK, thanks. That explains why I couldn't record my vocals into a track. I love this keyboard. It's quite a learning curve figuring out all of the things it can do. Thank you again for your help and information.
Hi there! A condenser mic requires phantom power, so it won’t work with these keyboards; you need a dynamic mic (which doesn’t need phantom power). The shure 48/58 are dynamic mics so they will work fine with these keyboards. Thanks a bunch for checking out the channel, feel free to subscribe
Very informative, instructive and entertaining video. I checked out your UA-cam channel. It's going to take me a while to view them all. 🙂 You have a good singing voice. I myself cannot sing, however a friend of mine who does sing will love the mic capabilities of the ew425. Any idea what the problem is?)
Thanks so much for the kind words (and the coffee attempt!) I'm not sure what the issue is with the card (whether it's that particular type of card or the site itself or just the combination); but the attempt is very much appreciated!

Great explaination! Is there any way to equalize our voice through the mic input (Bass, mid,High) ?

I might try an experiment on this at some stage …

Great video! Does the MIC input pick up signals from electric guitars?
I know the PSR-S lines supports this feature and even provides guitar effects
Hi there! Never heard of that but just looked it up - the PSR-SX 700/900 mic port is a combo mic / guitar (line) input (there is a switch to go back and forth). The PSR-EW425 and 473 don’t have that feature (so mic only)

Ugh I don’t understand anything about mics…
Is there any microphone that can plug both into my Mac and this piano? (Not simultaneously)
I noticed that you’re replying to all comments, thank you in advance!!

I THINK that the super articulation piano on the Tyros 4 might be the main piano sound on the PSR-SX700 and 900 (but I could be wrong :)
That being said I see many voices that appear to be common from the Tyros 4 and the EW425; many of the !Live !Sweet and !Cool voices look to be the same; whether they sound the same, better or worse on the E473/EW425 I don't know - the Tyros has 128 polyphony vs. 64 on the PSR's, but the PSR's processing is 10 years newer so that could make a difference as well.
The Tyros 4 weighs 10 pounds more than the EW425 and that's without your speakers so you would definitely have a more portable option with the 425.

@@PianoTone just another question if you don’t mind, can the mic+piano be recorded on board using the record function?

Question. It looks like the Mic you used and suggested has a USB connection. I thought the Mic port was a 1/4" port? Does it also come with a 1/4" connection or does it use up one of the USB ports?

With the EW-425 you have to use the 1/4 mic input though, no USB mic option

@@PianoTone Thanks, that was a quick response. Yeah, I already subscribed. I like your technical insights. I'm getting the E473. Does that not hae the USB input like you said fro the EQ-425? I would have gotten the EQ-425 but they were selling out. I hope I will be happy with the E473. My needs are jsut as a beginner. I checked out your Mic video. Thanks.
Ports (and almost everything) is identical between the 473 and the 425. Only differences are 425 has:
- 76 keys. :)
- better 2nd piano voice (main one is the same)
- enhanced organ sounds
- bigger speakers
Other than that the same. And the onboard octave +/- buttons will make 61 keys way better than on the E463 where you had to dive into the menu to do that; when it’s easy the fewer keys are less of an issue
@@PianoTone Thanks
Assuming that is the issue, then I'd recommend getting a mic cable that is just XLR to TR (as opposed to an adapter)
Hope that helps, let me know how it goes!
@@PianoTone it's actually a dynamic mic. I guess it's a stereo issue. I just ordered the same adapter but TS (mono) instead of TRS (stereo). If it doesn't work I'll try a cable. Will keep you posted. Thanks for your help.

Hi there! A condenser mic requires phantom power, so it won’t work with these keyboards; you need a dynamic mic (which doesn’t need phantom power). The shure 48/58 are dynamic mics so they will work fine with these keyboards.

@@PianoTone Thank you!!
Very informative, instructive and entertaining video. I checked out your UA-cam channel. It's going to take me a while to view them all. 🙂 You have a good singing voice. I myself cannot sing, however a friend of mine who does sing will love the mic capabilities of the ew425. (Edit: I tried to buy you a few cups of coffee with my GreenDot Visa card, but it said that that card doesn't support the type of transaction. I use it for Amazon and other stuff. Any idea what the problem is?)
Thanks so much for the kind words (and the coffee attempt!) I'm not sure what the issue is with the card (whether it's that particular type of card or the site itself or just the combination); but the attempt is very much appreciated!
@@PianoTone Is there any way you can find out from the site? I got the Green Dot card for online purchases. Never had a problem before. Maybe the site doesn't accept debit cards. If you can think of another way, please let me know. I don't have a credit card, and I don't want to use my regular bank card online. Anyway, thanks.
I checked their site and doesn’t look like they take debit: “We accept all major Credit Cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, as well as local payment methods such as UPI in India.”
@@PianoTone Thanks. That explains it. However, there's no option to buy you a coffee using Google Pay. Unless I just didn't see it.
Can't you put a ear phone mic ? If you can tell me how to do it
Not exactly sure what you mean by an ear phone mic, but the mic input requires a standard dynamic microphone with a 1/4" jack
So u need a real mic not the headphones mic
Yup
Ok thank you cause I just bought e - 437 keyboard
@@shanavegamingyt Hey that's awesome congratulations! Hope you enjoy your E-473! If you're looking for a good mic, I recently bought and reviewed this Samson mic it is excellent and can work with the E-473 as well as on a pc or tablet with USB.
