I would like to thank you sir for your video on the cd4e, it gave me the confidence to overhaul it, you saved me over 1000 at least, it's back in the car and works great.
Hey Hiram, this was awesome. Saved me a fortune. Same exact fault. Stripped down and used some super flux to clean up and soldered a piece of copper support wire over the join. Been back in a couple of weeks now and working fine. Only cost me the replacement oil. Know another guy recently quoted NZ$2700 for a new TCM. This is not a repair that everyone would want to attempt but if you're a bit handy wasn't a big job. Separating the face plate off the TCM without breaking it was probably the most difficult bit. Fingers crossed this will be a permanent repair, I see no reason why not. Pathfinder has done 200,000km but looks like has been out before. Cheers.
djkobafemi Hi, Yes used standard .7mm solder but used some super flux we've had for years which cleaned up the circuit tab really well. Used some .75 mm solid copper strand and put a small coil round the lower pin then soldered the circuit back in place then folded the copper wire over the top of the circuit and soldered it in place. Put a small amount of gasket silicone sealant over the tab when I put the cover back on to support it and help relieve any vibration in case this is actually the cause of the failure. Still running fine so fingers crossed.
Hiram Gutierrez, You are amazing. Sharing your knowledge is so selfless and very much appreciated! I hope you have some kind of an idea how mary people you have helped! Love It!!
Dude I love you!!! You just saved me $1600. I did this myself at work today and it totally solved my problem. Although my shop foreman broke my tcc solenoid. But we were able to sort of fix that. I was so paranoid because I love my Xterra and even though I'm a tech, transmissions are WAY over my head. Thanks again!
thank you for the video ,,, my car whent into safe mode few days ago and gave me this code.. i removed the valve body and for sure it was a cut line,, thank you very very much
2006 Frontier 2.5L two wheels drive. RE5R05A transmission . Same problem -one of the two pins to that solenoid broken but I solder them both ,adding single string of copper wire in to the solder to prevent the re-fracture. Thank you !
Tore mine down today. Yup, that little wire is broke! Thanks for the great video. Now I just have to figure out where those two ball bearings and springs go too!
I got p1764 on a 2005 armada v8 and it was pretty much the same problem. I soldered it back together and car works fine. Hopefully my solder holds for a while 🤞
you're a godsend for sharing this... my Xterra was running beautifully, I parked, started back up and found this same code. It shifts up all the way to 4th and cycles through the gears without issues, I then noticed it didn't go into overdrive and the SES (service engine) light lit up. I stopped, and realize it was still in fourth gear (hardly any power when throttling). if I turn off the key and restart, I find myself back in 1st gear and it does the same thing again when I get up on the highway. Bummer. I'm going to tear down the valve body and I'm hoping I find the same thing. I just don't know how this happened between parking for 10 minutes, coming back, and it not working correctly. Transmission rats. P1757
Pulled it apart, (the ATF fluid shower was much appreciated, warm and rejuvenating, good on the pores), disassembled and cleaned up the valve body's TCM, soldered up the broken connection nicely, threw it back together. Running like brand new. 140k miles.

Ey, gutierrez thank you for that video, I have a pathfinder 135Km 2005, with the same code p175, what is the best thing to do fix transmission or get a new car, do you rebuilt transmission and how much
Hiram Gutierrez thank you for the information you share, I have a question I'm working on my 2006 Nissan Pathfinder it has the same problem I try to weld it but only work for 30 min. Can you tell me what type of solder can I use? Thank you
Amigo! thank you for your videos. I fix a nissan 350z transmission using your videos. Gracias. I have a question, I hope you can answer. I have a 2006 Mercedes Benz cls550, i need to change the conductor plate before i spend the money, the conductor plate look like the nissan. Can be open and fix just like the nissan. thank you.
Another great informative video. The background music was a bit loud. Do you have any videos on a '99 3.0 Toyota Camry tranny? My TC lock up solenoid is out.
***** Thanks for the reply. However, that's not what I wanted to hear! I did check the solenoid and didn't hear a click from it like the other two. I did an OHM check on it and it was open. I suppose the same advice applies?! I did read that the lockup clutch is a weak point on this tranny being a small one. How often do you get one of these to work on? Are you planning to make a video What are the typical problem areas? (I know that's a lot to ask and please feel free to pass on commenting.) Suggestions for locations to get my best bang for the buck on parts. This tranny has 300,000+ on it. Car looks and drives well for that amount of miles.
I'am getting a p1730 code(automatic transmission interlock) on my 2003 g35 sedan. The car goes into limp mode and I cannot go over 40km/h. Is this a valve body issue? If I erase the engine light the car drives and shifts perfect.
I have a 2008 Nissan Altima 2.5 with a Po745 code while driving at normal temp it slow down I stop and let it cool down and it drive ok for a little while and it happen again, where is the problem my TCM or is it my Pressure control solenoid?
Wish me luck..!!! Thanks a lot for the hints..!!!!
Good evening sir where could I find a front break solenoid seeing that the agents for the Nissan Navara in my Country do not sell the solenoid separate from the valve body.
when i find 0.00 A, or all pressure solenoids are 0.00% on hyundai elantra. is this mean tcm stopped opening and closing the solenoids ? i mean tcm itself is the problem not the solenoids. is it correct?
hi thanks for the info but was wondering what is causing the breakage in the circuit in the first place. I see that some repairs are not lasting and was wondering if someone knew the cause for that.. thanks in advance for taking the time to help other wrenches like myself.
The early ones had external tcms and flexible wires. The solid ones on the internal tcm being solid get flexed slightly every time the solenoid fires. Eventually they break due to fatigue. A solid crimp type repair would be better if it could be done.
Hiram what type of solder did you use to solder the FB solenoid pin? I have tried but the solder didn't seem to hold only lasted 3 weeks. BTW keep up the good work very informative video

Just got this code, p1757... 1 year on a replacement valve body assembly. Thanks to you, I now know what do about it. All aces bro😁

Besides that annoying noise of some pneumatic tool rotating this video could save $$$$$$
