Bill is the only person no matter how dark of a hole I’m in, no matter how heavy the weight of depression is can make me laugh. Sometimes even belly laugh, which at those moments can feel abstract as it’s a sensation so foreign. He brings that. Thanks Mr Burr, I wish you well
He makes light of all that shit that usually holds you back so you can learn not to take it so seriously, not to mention you realize how stupid it really is when it's explained in his unique way!
Can I ask why? I know everyone think a little different…and depression is something I’ve never been able to imagine because ig it’s just the way I happen to be wired. Like, I feel bad when I watch stuff about little kids getting killed, women getting raped, people starving to death…things like that…but that’s obviously not depression. Although, it’s the closest feeling I can relate to it…which is why I am curious about it, but if you’d rather not talk about it, I definitely understand…
@jordancave3089 Most comedians battle with depression, they are one of those groups where almost everyone in it deals with mental illness. I've always used humor as almost a defense mechanism and to make things not seem so bad! But if you ever want a great description of depression, Chester Bennington does an interview in which he says, when I'm depressed I don't want to kill myself or anything like that, I just want to crawl over in the corner and not eat or drink and just lay there until I go! To me depression is the loss of any and all hope, there seems to be nothing that could help, so you've essentially given up!
Bill Burr should not feel bad about his feelings at his child's birth... My first thoughts for both of my kids at birth was "oh my god, it looks like me" poor thing... They were ugly... 30 some years later they love their "Pops", and only one of them is ugly.
The way Bill engrossed drumming as an outlet his energy in a positive way to an artistic passion he had all along. My older brother at 55 used it to stop all his bad habits and obsess with the drums taken lessons for five years playing constantly and his talent showed when he sat in to play at open stage. I asked him about how do you control your hands, I then was sat down and taught paradiddle's and so much more about percussion and the snare and bass. I then told him I was proud that you have mastered this musical talent to show we have artistic ability that no other Irish, Scottish, German has done in our family. He showed me any negative power can be a positive through drums
A) If there’s ONE instrument a martial artist should appreciate, it’s drums. I didn’t appreciate martial arts until I learned drums. B) A few weeks ago there was a dude on stage playing a little suitcase kit who was literally 93 years old. As long as you can still move while sitting in a chair, you can still exercise by playing music.
Watching Bill Burr's character arc over the past decade really gives me hope. It brings me endless joy to see this raging, irate red-head having some moments of bliss and love when he speaks of his family

31:08 it was exactly the same for me. I held my son for the first time at about 9am and yeah, it was a big moment but I was kind of in shock or maybe I was just acting how I thought I was supposed to. Then all the family and friends came and went throughout the day and it all felt vaguely ceremonial. Touching, sure, but it wasn't until that evening that I really truly fully felt it. My wife had this "Blackbird" instrumental song playing softly on her phone and I was walking back from the bathroom. I looked down at him and my wife gently swaying to the music and WOOSH. It felt like I (the new me) had just been born. It was intense and fucking magical. Now he's 6 and won't shut up about Minecraft.
That’s so beautiful. My husband and I have decided to not have children even though we’d love to but we can’t afford to homeschool. I know he’d be a great dad though. The end of your story cracked me up.
I know they say Chapelle is the GOAT. The show was gold, his first special was hilarious and He definitely still drops bombs but to me, Burr is the man. I'm laughing the whole time. Whole time.
I like Bill burr more for the simple fact that he is humble, not a single time have I witnessed him saying he is good or better than anyone else. In fact, when people compliment him he gets uncomfortable and doesn't know how to reply sometimes or deflects it by changing the subject, that is a sign of a true humble person. Not that I don't like him he's also in my top 5 comedians, but sometimes I get fucking tired of Dave saying he is the GOAT. If you truly were you would never have to state it, as your skills would do that for you.
It amazes me the amount of people I'm now seeing and hearing say this exact idea. I had it as a late teen as well and on into my 20s. I honestly started to think something was wrong with me. I'm 29 bout to go 30for30 and it seems like all the adults I work with or live around, even into old age mentally act like teenagers while I have become a man of few words. I can say now that my switch finally flipped. May uave happened when I was 25 or it could have happned last year. All I know is I definitely feel mature next to the mental children I have to put up with in this town.
I like how bill never brings up that his wife is black and the difference between marrying a black women vs a white women, those comedy routines become tacky.
Dale Chalfont "Bill Burr & Nia - Dilemma: Daughter Or Gay Son" here on UA-cam says different. I'm surprised they even get along, but good for them if they're happy.
Smart people get along, regardless of their political affiliation. Bill and Nia both see most of the shit the idiots listening get riled up about is all bullshit.
Joe Rogan is an inspiring guy. He's hilarious, dedicated, and a genuinely kind person. Bill is also hilarious! I love these podcasts and hope Joe continues them for a long time.
Iggy Pop was literally one of the physical references the Lord Of The Rings team used back when they were first designing how the character of Gollum would look on screen. They talk about it in the documentary material.
I am a baseball guy. Hall of Famer Rod Carew corked his bat once, and never used it in a game. He felt no one would believe it if he hit with that bat. Yes, it does make a real difference. I used to put superballs in my bat. Gives you an extra 10-15 feet on a ball you catch near the sweet spot. Old time baseball. During a rain delay, in the 1970s, "Hawk" Harrelson and Tom "Wimpy" Pacoreck (not sure of the spelling) showed the fans how you corked a bat on the television broadcast. You will not see that today, LOL. There is an old saying in baseball: "If you ain't cheating, you ain't trying".
I thought, when I was a kid, that someone 21 or older was an actual adult too lol. There really aren't many grown ups. I thought I'd figure everything out by the time I was in my 20's too, but now that I'm 37, I am even more confused about shit than I ever was.
That's called wisdom . The older you get the more you realize you dont really know anything. When we are young we often think we know everything. Good for you man
I swear i could listen to bill talk about politics endlessly, now that i think about it he can talk about anything and make it entertaining, and joe as always an excellent backboard to let the conversation wander where it naturally goes
The drum technique Bill is talking about is known as the "PUSH PULL" method. It allows you to play, not only faster, but since you're using less effort and energy, it also allows you to play longer (as in a live show). I'm about to be 38 and have been Drumming 25+ years. Bill is one of my Top 5 Favorite Comedians, I had no idea he was into drumming. Fucking Awesome 🤘 P.S. Bill, another technique that's quintessential for energy conservation, is the Moeller Technique. Check it out sometime.
Did anyone else notice that Bill seemed to be evading the topic of politics by providing brief one-word like responses, but then when Joe inquired at 1:43:40 about his preferred presidential candidate he suddenly unleashed a precise and detailed political analysis, similar to a seasoned political commentator? I adored his perspective and this whole podcast, thank you !

Now he's 6 and won't shut up about Minecraft.

Yeah, thanks. I'm aware of that.
Sounds like you’re taking your weak pull out game out on your offspring. When he goes up for adoption I’ll gladly take him in.
@@Zanarkendjp sounds like you're a dumbshit with no sense of humor
That’s so beautiful. My husband and I have decided to not have children even though we’d love to but we can’t afford to homeschool. I know he’d be a great dad though. The end of your story cracked me up.
Ha Ha ha ha ha ha ha beautiful consciousness emergence stage
Lmfao. Hahahahah only joe Rogan would say "yeah my baby being born was a psychedelic experience" hahahah
Keith Hyson dis guy and his psychedelics
Keith Hyson and yet he was so right!
If you've ever had a kid, you'd understand lol honestly.
"War should be illegal" 😂
Bill "I have A.D.D" Burr baking pies learning french and playing drums.
heads up
with ADD it is typical to have a hyper focus on activities/subjects you are passionate about
And flying helicopters lol
Bill Burr almost had a nervous breakdown watching Wall-E
"the guy's hurt by life" lol fucking classic
Drummer for carpentur brut is the best I've seen in 20 years.
We need another one with Bill, such a great dude and clearly such good pals
*Joe Rogan doing his breathing exercise*
BILL: Dude you look like you got shot and you're waiting for the ambulance.." 😂😂😂😂😂😜😜😜
CHiEF TONGA hahaha glad he brought him back to earth
Camp Matthew
How pathetic is your life that you get mad over something as dumb as emojis
Camp Matthew
It's pretty obvious that you did lmao
Camp Matthew
And now you're getting mad again lol you should really see a therapist about your inability to control your emotions
Camp Matthew
Nah, I don't think that's it. You're showing clear signs of anger here.
"Dude, have you seen Hidden Figures?" 😂😂😂
I kept looking to see if the podcast had restarted... like groundhogs day 😂
Theres no other way to ask about Hidden Figures 😂
Hidden figures is the shit
Just added kickstart my heart to my workout playlist
I’ve lost track the amount of times I’ve watched this
"I don't wanna hurt him he's hurt by life." I spat my drink through my nose.
I know right I was fucking dying 😂
Bill great line “ it’s like verbal water boarding” .... hilarious!!
joe has much discipline. "i dont wanna hurt him, the guy is hurt by life"
MrSapper21 I read that just as he said it. The universe bugs me out.
yeh that always happens to me discomatty.
Then bill says he would wrap the guys face with duct tape lol
wtf that has to do with discipline. lol

37:16 that little Rodney Dangerfield reference was amazing to me lol
“What if a tooth falls out…” 😂😂😂😂
I know they say Chapelle is the GOAT. The show was gold,
his first special was hilarious and He definitely still drops bombs but to me, Burr is the man. I'm laughing the whole time. Whole time.
Burr also wrote on Chapelle Show as well as guest starred

I like Bill burr more for the simple fact that he is humble, not a single time have I witnessed him saying he is good or better than anyone else. In fact, when people compliment him he gets uncomfortable and doesn't know how to reply sometimes or deflects it by changing the subject, that is a sign of a true humble person. Not that I don't like him he's also in my top 5 comedians, but sometimes I get fucking tired of Dave saying he is the GOAT. If you truly were you would never have to state it, as your skills would do that for you.
Dave is good but all biils stand ups vs chapelles I’m picking bill
@@yasirkadhim2940 I think thats part of the joke though, like he does it for the comedy of saying he's the greatest.
Joe “how many babies are being born right now simultaneously” Rogan
Isn't there a scene like that in Bruce Almighty?
Three
People bring the best n worse out of u. This is a great episode
I love it when Bill talks about his wife 😌he truly loves her 💕
I knooooooow next relationship (if ever) I get in one, I will want a dude who talks about me like Bill talks about his wife and kid. 🥰
"Everyone one of us is one bad decision away from disaster..." Amen, Joe :)
@Nickolas Blake but applicable to all :)
This aged well
Billiam burrrr is the best comic of this generation he will be an all time great top ten in world
Pretty sure he's the same generation as chapelle... and have you never heard of jim gaffigan?
@Rishi Eastwood i agree. However Carlin was from a different generation than Bill, so it kind of doesnt apply.
@Rishi Eastwood how dare you!
Take it easy the world has many countries. You can say he is one of the best in the USA. And thats about it.
@rxp56 flavour of the month? You're not flavour of the month for over a decade my dude...
Its a beautiful rapport between these two men. Thanks for all that you do.
I always thought as a kid "I cant wait to turn 18 and have that switch in my brain flip to adult/grown up"...
It never happend..
Sucks to be you
Yeah I know that feeling...
I'm 37 and I'm still waiting!!
Turned 18 six days ago, I feel
bill burr and his wife are relationship goals. the way he talks about her is the way i want to talk about my future girlfriend/wife
gay
Toasty Cabbage Waffles you can get a lot of ass being gay.
Lol that’s super gay
Bekim Bomova it's only gay if your balls touch

Whoever makes the next Batman movie needs to dub Bill’s laugh into the Joker’s dialogue. 😂
The ole heh heh heh
@@MrAngusyoungistheman Batman movies are for children...
Yessss ... I love it ... it makes me laugh 🤣🤣🤣
5 years solid and hilarity is off the charts…. If it bleeds we can kill it
I’m fuckin dead
I like how bill never brings up that his wife is black and the difference between marrying a black women vs a white women, those comedy routines become tacky.
Your Likes Make Me Moist His wife is extremely well spoken and educated, he hardly has any 'suburb upbringing vs ghetto upbringing' stories.
Dale Chalfont I'm surprised he doesn't talk about the weirdness caused by his nonchalant-ness and her hyperliberalism. That'd be interestinv
Dale Chalfont "Bill Burr & Nia - Dilemma: Daughter Or Gay Son" here on UA-cam says different. I'm surprised they even get along, but good for them if they're happy.
Smart people get along, regardless of their political affiliation. Bill and Nia both see most of the shit the idiots listening get riled up about is all bullshit.
live a little bit longer and you'll know
"what do you wanna do to him?"
"no, I'm just running. I'm just running, I don't want to hurt him. He's hurt by life"
Joe is so wholesome in this podcast him and bill are the uncles everyone wish they have
JOE subtitles are essential for us non english people
Joe Rogan is an inspiring guy. He's hilarious, dedicated, and a genuinely kind person. Bill is also hilarious! I love these podcasts and hope Joe continues them for a long time.
So far so good
Eh a online radio type show with ppl just talking wont ever work long term. I give it a year tops... 😂😂😋

i love falling asleep to these two talking😂
As much as I can't stand watching Adam Sandler movies, it's kinda refreshing to hear people liking them.
Yeah, his hollywood buddies. Super sincere.
Punch Drunk Love is the only acceptable Adam Sandler movie
Reign on me, funny people, 50 first dates, punch drunk love, happy Gilmore. Dude makes good movies. Plain and simple
Ahahahah
I like water boy and happy Gilmore new Sandler movies tho aren’t my style!
Iggy Pop was literally one of the physical references the Lord Of The Rings team used back when they were first designing how the character of Gollum would look on screen. They talk about it in the documentary material.
Kevin W holy shit serious?
shit you're right!
Same with a lot of James O'barr's artwork for The Crow graphic novel.
I just watched Conor’s leg snap against Dustin Poirier’s elbow. Now I’m listening to you talk about that very same thing 4 years in the past.
EXACTLY Jesus Christ. I had it on autoplay so I re checked the date wtf
My eyebrows went up too.

Things get better in your fifties and sixties
Roodborst Kalf 😂😂😂 whats the fkn point then!!?
That's called wisdom . The older you get the more you realize you dont really know anything. When we are young we often think we know everything. Good for you man
I hope that didnt sound condescending lol I seriously didnt mean it to!
@rxp56 shoot couple hundred years ago life expectancy was like 30 so 20s would be old n wise lol
I swear i could listen to bill talk about politics endlessly, now that i think about it he can talk about anything and make it entertaining, and joe as always an excellent backboard to let the conversation wander where it naturally goes
Burr is a total hypocrite. He's a political squish.
Joe Rogan isn't the back board. He is the main board
@nickclark18 you don't know what a backboard is, do you?
The drum technique Bill is talking about is known as the "PUSH PULL" method. It allows you to play, not only faster, but since you're using less effort and energy, it also allows you to play longer (as in a live show).
I'm about to be 38 and have been Drumming 25+ years. Bill is one of my Top 5 Favorite Comedians, I had no idea he was into drumming. Fucking Awesome 🤘
The only time joe ever says
“Jamie, don’t pull that up”
"Every one of us is one shitty decision from a train wreck" 🤣 so true
I can relate to Burr on being called "Sir" for the first time. It really is that feeling of "damn, this is it".
Happy Gilmore is my favorite comedy movie ever
Burr is a natural - good observer, and naturally funny.
bill burr is my spirit animal.
is alex jones really gonna be on episode 911?
Watch the last 5 seconds of this vid, he says "Tomorrow Alex Jones episode 911'
hardhouse87 awesome
so when is episode 910 ?
so when is episode 910 ?
captain black tonight after Bills.
Joe rogan is hands down the best interviewer on earth. He knows when to talk and he knows when to listen.
When Bill mentions the guy breaking both his legs:
Joe: “DON’T PULL THAT UP JAMIE!”
ROTFLOL 😂 😂 😂
Hahaha cringe worthy moment
