I did an in car valve seaĺ and valve spring replacement recently on my stock 1985 Corvette since local shops didn't want the job. Lacking an air compressor, I used the rope in cylinder trick. Not a fun endeavor. I would recommend plugging all oil drain back holes in the heads and surrounding the engine with newspapers to catch any keepers that may go flying when initially breaking free frozen retainers.
I’m very interested in seeing more. I’m in need of doing my own valve spring and seals. Love any kind of content like this because I’m in the process of trying to freshen my stock 92’ GT up.
Ahhh you should have filmed everything that’s wat keeps us motivated really wanted to see that cam install you’ve done cam install before, but everything you work on is worth recording bro.
Hey some of the old school tools really work great, if it works it works. Always like the videos when your changing heads, valve springs, cam, and that always the best stuff.
Talk about those school and these guys should know this the old 390 mushroom Val seals. That’s the best ones to use leaking valve seals where put those on it you’re good to go 390 mushroom Val seals.
Awesome video Brew! I'm getting ready to do this exact same modification on my Cobra. Thanks for the tips. Can't wait to hear the Arctic fox with the lumpy idle.
Thank you guys love the channel Where did you get the sleeve that protected the valve seal from getting damaged? Did it come with the seals? Thank you Keep doing what your doing Also do you add the air to each cylinder as you go? I was confused as to why the other cylinders valves moved when you put air to the other cylinder… Or can you just leave the air in the one plug hole and that will be suffice for the rest of the project?
🔔😎 OLD SCHOOL RACER TRICK Pull the plugs Roll the chosen cylinder to TDC compression. Roll piston down either way. Feed in 2-3 ft of 1/4 inch cotton rope through the spark plug hole. Roll the piston up. Change springs. If you cant figger out the rest from here, call 911.😁😁
I'm still early in the video, but have a question about the cam choice that maybe you'll answer in the video. The B-21 cam is the 1.7 roller rocker version of the B-31 cam, which is a supercharger cam. I could do the math to see where it puts the lift and specs of the cam, but it should essentially be .030 less than advertised, which then should be about .060 less than the B-31 which I do have specs on. You're gonna make me do the math, to see how it compares to the other cams you mentioned. Interesting approach. Curious to see how it plays out.
Please anyone chime in here...... If my plan was to swap an auto (tranny) to a standard, what needs to be added to my list below? Manual transmission. Shifter and supporting pieces. A hole cut through Car where shifter will go. Anything else?
you dont have to really put anything in the cylinders ive changed many springs just buy putting the cylinder im working over at TDC and the valve can only drop a inch or less and it does not drop hard enough to hurt anything .......
I just recently did that with that same spring kit. Made a video on it. ua-cam.com/video/Fwm7PfBJCbU/v-deo.html I also used that crows foot tool. My procedure was a little different though I didn’t use the air compressor tool to hold the valve up. I’m doing the an anderson N41 cam this week end. Gonna make an updated video on it as well. That is a very tedious job. I think the hardest part was trying to catch the videos but I’m by my self and it’s not easy having to need 4 hands 😂

That is never a fun job but that old school method works perfect every time
Brings back memories. you have so much patience.

I’ve done that job a lot of times and it still sux! Thanks brew.
check out my rope trick comment
Artic Fox still my favorite. Anderson Cam 🔥
Nice to see that work for you in car. Mine was too cruded up and I ended up pulling them - did some porting too while they were out.
Common Andrew...... we like you, and your cars too bud. It's always nice seeing your foxes on the channel. Also we enjoy you guys joking around. 👍
This is one of my least favorite things to do on any engine.. but this old school method is tried and true. Great Video as always !!!!
use a rope
I bought my V3 supercharger kit from anderson motorsport. Great guys to work with and they had the best price out there

This is the video we need, bro.

Seems like all the Anderson cams sound good👍

The sleeve came in the kit. I pumped each cylinder up individually, the pressure from the air rotates the engine some. Thanks for the kind words!
Yessss I have to do valve springs in mine!!
Nice! Hope this helps
Hey Man, you ever run any of the beehive valve springs? I wanted to know your opinion/assessment of the beehive spirngs?
Nice. Can't wait to hear it.

Ive done this job. It sucked. Lol. But good piece of mind when upgrading the cam and opportunity to replace the seals.
Saw the Gram! Sounds 👍
I’m definitely impressed! 👌
Yes but I love the funny side of the channel to you and Andrew are funny too
I wish he would video more 😂
@@BREW2LFOXBODY me too
TIME CONSUMING!! Lol that's a long job, but worthwhile for sure on a high mile engine, or one thats getting a cam! Great video bud!
Great video. Definitely gonna use this for reference when I change mine
Tks brother 👍
Is it a bad idea to use the stock retainers and keepers?
What other tool would you recommend for compressing the springs? about to do this myself
Does Anderson sell headlights?
Never would go with a anderson if you dont get a cam card. How would you degree it?
It comes with a cam card.
Cool old Skool method. Did u make the tool for compressing springs?

Bring your pissing up to the top because if you lose air pressure guess what happens pulling ahead
Hey Brew2L , I was curious, will the B-21 cam work in an AOD car ?
We're these stock E7TE cylinder heads?
How about a set of headlights for Andrews car
Hell Yeah!!!
Interesting.
Man how bad I want a Anderson cam California sucks with all the regulations
How does it compare to the n41?
I use the same tool and method
Please anyone chime in here......
If my plan was to swap an auto (tranny) to a standard, what needs to be added to my list below?
Manual transmission.
Shifter and supporting pieces.
A hole cut through Car where shifter will go.

I need help doing mine
Its easy to be difference dont ls swap it or coyote swap it

Good to know!
Thanks for dropping that info.
if the piston is 3 inches doen youll lose the valve stem.
read the rope trick comment.
@@hotrodray6802 when a piston is up on tdc you dont have three inches....read a tape measure
