It's alive! Sounds like its ready to go. Yeah, I know what you mean about hoarding stuff. I've got piles of junk laying around, but it comes in handy all the time.
If I didn't have the oil burner running it would have been nice, I was plenty warm for it being 20°f outside. Froze hard last night and this truck needs front tires so I'll keep working on the rear tank instead of taking it out for a test drive. Lots of black ice out right now
@@BigBeavrSlayer it's like 6 degrees here and windy af.... Was hoping y'all got that 6 inch snow dump...I woulda drove plow truck out there and made bank....west siders don't do well with snow..lol.
Now if only I had a few more tanks lying around to use. Now I need to replace that cheesy rear tank that has holes in it. For some reason tanks I never kept around before I started building gasifiers
I got a 97 vortec core sitting here that broke a crank.. if you want it I'll save it instead of scrap it... Get a crank for 100 and have a roller cam and good heads... They are about 290 hp with carb and stock cam in them...lots of snot down low. Would have to source a flywheel if your running 2 piece seal engine now though.
Ever considered running some Keith black claimer pistons? Up to 0.500 dome for super high compression...I built alot of claimer engines with them ..they are like 190 bucks...and with a 58cc head i was up near 14.5 to 1 using pump e85.... If you have 76cc heads would be in 11:1 area..and a perfect one would be 64cc in 13:5 to one....you have e85 everywhere over there and when you did run liquid fuel you could keep timing sky high like woodgas and both fuels love high compression to speed up flame front .... So 200 upgrade and maybe throw a set of total seal rings at next build maybe limit some of soot getting in oil .... And hit a you pull on 50 off day and get set up with a tbi? So many cheap options avail for that....
I'm just starting to look I to what I can do and get a real high compression engine put together with the other block, at least 10/1 minimum, but having played with 4 bangers for so long I'm having to dig for information. I have been debating my other 2wd toyota which needs a rebuild it has a dead hole, maybe a small charcoal build with compression. A 20r head on 22r block with stock pistons gets to 9.8/1. That would be more for a commuter/ milage rig but cheaper maybe to build since it's smaller and I could run on the char dumps fron the v8 and v10. Also talking to a gut down south about ethanol production possibly down the road
Sound O.K. Marcus. But with those wheels and tires best to park it for a few days with the upcoming freezing rain days. Shame to bend it up now. So, a couple of more day's gasoline feeding the big Dodge. Regards Steve unruh
I absolutely agree Steve but it won't be on the road for a few more days anyways I need to patch a hole in the rear tank and a hole in the Dropbox that were both pretty Rusty when I built them before it's ready to go on the road again I would also like to change up the tire and wheel combination something more All Season versus mini truck look at me Wheels I like them originally but I'm pretty much over it I need something more utilitarian to use for this truck
@@RemotePaws yes you absolutely can and it has been done on a 22r before and 22re, and I’m debating putting a 20r back in this truck for the same reason and do a fuel efficiency comparison
Being a hoarder & knowing where everything is, is great. But, might as well throw everything away if it takes 3 months to find something. Talking about myself.
I had just organized the entire metal bench and I knew exactly where this piece was sitting but normally as you can see in the background the shop is kind of what I call organized chaos I know where everything is but anybody else would think a pig's been living in their rooting around for years🤣
You can NEVER have too much stuff when working on machines. Remembering what you have is the tough part.
Finding the stuff is the real killer

We wouldn't be building woodgas trucks without all that junk right?

@@mechanic_prepper up north they got hammered pretty good, we got a dusting and quick freeze where I'm at
Chevy-chevy bang bang Toy rolls again. Multi purpose metal piles rule my shop too. Good going !

Lol holy shit that header was HOT.
I might be a smidgen lean on that bank haha

Could I run wood burning on a 22r? I had a 84 toyota but sold it, It'd be down on power probably but how much? Thanks
I'd aim for efficency burning rather than power so if a 4 cylinder helps that would be great

Hah. I keep scrap as long as it's over 2 inch....make gussets all the time
I do the same, I got milk crates of cutoffs im always rummaging through for some little gusset material
But, But, my wife says my mind is always in the gutter. She still loves me though. lol.
You and I got some good women then!
