If this thing was in SV, it would still be tiny since Eternatus is supposedly bigger than it canonically and is smaller than origin forme giratina in SV. When will gamefreak do the giant Pokémon justice? (I mean we do have dondozo who’s fine but I think they slightly shrank it from what I’ve heard)
@@THGMR-ox7sd come on man, there's no way the switch could render a model that big. just ignore the fact that the gamecube could do it back in the early 2000s.
Wailord was good for breeding since you could pass Water Spout to Remoraid, and from Remoraid pass it to squirtle, giving Blastoise the move, which in gen 6 triple battles, is one of the most terrifying attacks to take, a mega blastoise water spout. As of gen 9, the only way to get a water spout blastoise is to mirror herb it from a Kyogre though.
I had a similar experience in Pokémon XD cause I saw how big it was and went to the Pokédex to check the size section and it showed it being like 1000x the size of a human
At this point it really needs an evo or some really crazy buff (or mega in ZA) Wailord evo would be funny tho, it is supposed to be "the biggest pokemon" so finding an evo that is even bigger is a fun thought
I think it would actually be really cool if wailord got an evolution in the future which made it into a blimp, playing of the the fact of how hilariously light it is compared to its size, and fully learning into it by making in a water/flying blimp whale that would either be an actual viable wall breaker or a defensive wall.
Spanish fangame Pokémon Z has a Water/Flying regional Wailord. It has similar stats to the OG, but with Aerilate and Unburden, access to Aeroblast and a Flying Press-like move
If it was either faster or slower it could be a real threat with water spout in or out of trick room, since the only other mons that get it are blastoise, kyogre and jellicent. Weird that they gave drizzle to peliper instead of wailord, they feel like more comperable Pokémon although it’s stat line is closer to regidrago. It just missed every possible bus and is stuck being terrible.
I don't usually like to say "just give it more stats" when it comes to buffing Pokemon, but I feel like when its the largest (at the time) Pokemon and is based on the world's biggest animal, it deserves to have a bit more than a slightly-above average Base Stat Total. They could have at least brought it to the level of other not-quite-pseudo Pokemon like Arcanine; something like a 550 BST would've been nice. It's kinda silly how low the defensive stats of such a huge Pokemon are, so buffing them both to 70 at the very least would be a big improvement
At least Wailmer was a great lead in ADV ZU. First you hydro pump for legitimateley huge damage, then you eat your Salac Berry and finally, you can explode. Most notably, Wailmer could be EV'd to always live Choice Band Aipom's double edge, a huge threat and a common lead on non stall teams
I tried getting one of my friends into Pokemon Showdown. His first match was a guy using 6 wailords with Defense Curl + Rest just to PP stall. He hasn't played showdown since.
_"It's good in the low tiers of a fanmade format"_ will always be one of the most cope responses to how trash so many monsters are. Currently, my own original blue whale monster I am designing for my own monster collector system has like double the HP of Wailord with 140 DEF and MAG uninvested.
@@Dragostorm21 Yes. If anything, it just goes to show how poorly the game is designed when you have so little reason to use them either casually or competively. The High HP, low defenses or High Defenses, low hp stat spreads rarely ever work. I love Wailord.
He's just a big boy, and I wanna give him a hug.
*They did him dirty in the newer games, though. That dude is TINY!* 😭
Wailord: "Who are you?"
Dondozo: "I'm you, but stronger."
From wallbreaker to wall... he became what he swore to defeat..
Never forget about Supersonic Skystrike Wailord 😂😂😂
But like in lore its stats make sense like its a whale and a whale would have these stats

My best Memory of Wailord is it being one of my first Pokemon cards and zed card being gifted by a friend. And… that’s about it.
It used to actually have the highest HP in the TCG in multiple sets for a few decades. Ca Gen 3 to end of Gen 4.
I will never forget the sheer awe I felt seeing wailord in Colosseum and Battle Revolution
Too bad we didn't get any similar games for next gens. Imagine putting this absolute unit next to a Joltik

On the side of the stall 😭
Wailord has use in gen 3 as lead, has good matchup against almost everything except zapdos and spore/lovley kiss etc, by the way very good video.

It's such a crash out, people would yell, "Oh the humanity!"
Wailord and Cetitan having the same HP stats is kinda funny
Clearly the strat is to also use Shuckle with guard split, that will surely make them unkillable. Nothing can go wrong.
As Dhelmise’s #1 fan I am unsure about how to feel towards this beast.
So this is why Wailord founded the Cult of Happiness And Teeth...
Crazy how Guzzlord, an Ultra Beast based on a black hole, is worse than Wailord, a funny balloon whale
