I found your review after getting his book through this library-curb-service pandemic period, and I appreciated your comments and analysis - especially when sharing your sense of nostalgia from the last painting. You mentioned the possibility of doing one of Reardon's paintings yourself. Let me encourage you, as I would look forward to it as a tutorial - I am much the beginner, but not at an early age. Thank you with blessings.
The artists you show on your UA-cam channel all make exquisite art and they are my stars in the sky. They truly are a great inspiration. You observe the same things in a painting like I do. The light and shadows, the shades of color and the great shapes, the composition, and the depth. The notion of the importance of details like small shadows and how the contrasts make the shapes pop or how to place an object so it makes a huge difference for the entire painting. Oh yeah, I too noticed that the fence on the painting you choose connect with the tree line so the perspective made a foreground, a middle ground in an upgoing curve, all became the landscape, the shape of the hill.Brilliant! Thank you so much for sharing.
I wasn't familiar with this artist but I love his work! I am going to check out his videos. I also really like the "portrait" technique, where you can appreciate all the details in the painting from top to bottom. Quite different and interesting. The shadows of the trees down the mountain would not have had the same impact in "landscape". It was captured so much better in the vertical. Another very good review. Thank you so much!
Yes, it truly impressed me! (: Whatever I do in painting, I want it to be deliberate and not because it’s the “only way I know”. Seeing someone paint so much in portrait orientation really opened my mind to this possibility, and I know I’ll do it more and more in the future 😁🙏🏼 Thank you!
THANK YOU, LIRON. Great idea reviewing noteworthy watercolorists and bringing them to our attention. Good and important information, along with your other series. It seems unlikely that you will ever run out of artists to present, but here's a vote for one who is quite captivating: Iulia Carchelan (Romanian?). Take a look on UA-cam. Fascinating stuff, genius in my opinion.
Thank you 😊🙏🏼 I’ll never run out of ideas, but I’m planning on doing this FOREVER, and so more always helps 😁 Thank you - I’m familiar with her work and may include her in an upcoming episode! (I believe she is indeed Romanian - like me haha - well, I’m half). 🙏🏼😊
Michael art work is amazing! And your absolutely right, he is not only a master of color and light but his composition is ingaging! If you watch his video again I'm sure you will see that the shaking in not voluntary. I believe Michael may be suffering with the beginning stages of Parkinson's.
Yes, I noticed it too earlier when watching his videos. Wasn’t sure how to address it (: But it really goes to show you what amazing things can be done no matter the circumstances. He is a true inspiration. In my hometown, where I grew up, there’s an incredible oil painter with parkinson’s. His work (realistic / impressionistic) is still excellent. Really inspiring.
Liron Yanconsky completely agree! I've notice quite a few artist suffering from neurological and cancer. So I did some research to see what we're in pigments. Needless to say I now wear gloves when painting and a mask when using pastels ❤️
I am familiar with his work through internet . If you like this style , his backgrounds and distance you would love David Howell. I know you have a lot of them to review, but do yorself a favor and check him out. I have his book also.. thanks Liron .
I love David Howell! His method amazes me. Actually painting with barely any drawing. I like the softness of his work. I have a lot to learn from him, as he generally keeps his values very light, and I tend to darken things up a little too much. He’s on my list already 😉

I was looking for the rock climber by the same name, but this art is so nice!
Haha I had it happen the other way around 😂
Was looking for the painter in Google Images, and kept finding the climber!
Quite educational Liron ! Thanks!

My pleasure, happy you discovered a new artist! (:
