Beautifully encapsulates the styles of romantic etudes to a T! Greatly composed and played! The piece itself has elements of Liszt's Transcendental Etudes and Chopin's Etudes as well which feature many great repetitive passages to truly embrace technique and musicality!
What one amazing performing for one of the most difficult piano pieces ever composed ! It is the first study composed by the composer when he was 16 years old...
Do you prefer Schönberg... 😁!? Besides I am sure if it was Chopin that write this piece, you would have written: "Musically beautiful romantic music" ...
oops, i just noticed your username sounds earily similar to the name of the author. 🙈😅 sorry, i didn't intend to be mean.. 😢 (i thought he's long dead to read my comment.. 🙈😅)
Very nice performance of this piece. NOW - Sit Still and play the piano. Don't act like you were on a ship at sea in a violent storm. What does all the motion do for the piece. Did you ever see Horowitz rock like a tree in the wind? NO!!!!
This piece would be exceptionally difficult to play ‘sitting still’; as the hands travel up and down the keyboard, the body moving with them is far more natural (and arguably better technique) than simply extending your arms all the way. Different pianists move in different ways - Horowitz isn’t the only brilliant pianist to have ever existed, you know ;) Great playing to the uploader!
Do you prefer Glenn Gould...? Don't forget that Horowitz was tall, with large hands and arms and that, moreover, his interpretation of high virtuosity pieces often included false notes... On the other hand, Jan is only 16 years old and he is relatively small. His swinging style, as you say, therefore allows him to interpret this extremely difficult study without false notes! Everyone has their own style and if you don't like Jan's, try playing this study yourself at the indicated tempo and without pause! There aren't many pianists in the world who can do it...
This is a pretty unqualified comment from a pretty cranky dude. The pianist’s movements are pretty ergonomic and efficient at distributing the requisite weight and sussing out the appropriate tones. The old school “sit still” philosophy of piano-playing is outdated by 100 years. Horowitz will always have my heart but he was sloppy, and a lot of that can be attributed to his flat-finger technique and stiff-as-a-board posture
@@BasilAbdef Ahh, Very good idea. From now on I shall purchase recordings instead of going to live performances. Why bother paying all the money for tickets, parking and having to dress up.
An absolutley brilliant performance, a real pleasure to listen to this!

Very nice and complex composition, and a very impressive performance of the pianist !

Darn it! I wasn't familiar with this composer. Gotta check out more of his music. Very well played 💪😎
thumbs up to your skills! 👍👍✌
not sure this piece is musically worth all the trouble, though.. 🙈😅

@@dominiqueloup well, it's all subjective, isn't it.
but i know if a piece of music somehow touches me, even without knowing the author..

The only metric of insportance is the sound that his instrument produces. Who cares about his posture?
Music is meant to be listened to, not watched.
