Great video , i was also served by a Nepalese worker in Hong Kong. I was also in Hong Kong before 1997 and have just returned in may of this year . It's definitely changed over the years . Still a very special destination .
All your film for me is "a treat for the eyes". Beautiful images, calm voice makes perfect atmosphere. I'm waiting for next nice experience in your next movie, Thank You
OMG! Wow, just WOW. Food shots, Disneyland, praise to our Creator?! Whats not to love! Maybe one day we will meet! And I should love to give you a proper hug, for all the joy your videos bring me. Paul, I am grateful for your hard work....your videos take me on journeys I cannot rite now achieve. I get so excited when I see a new video up from you. So thank you, thank you...thank you!
I went there for a game of tennis at the Residents Club with my buddies the first time in 1990 and I ended up living there for some years. I even joined the boat club where I had a couple of catamarans (you can see them in the video). Discovery Bay is a fun and relaxing place to live. 30 years have gone by......
Thanks, I did some sailing in Hong Kong when I first came, (1974) The army had a sailing school out near Castle Peak! Also in about ‘76 was invited to teach canoeing to army kids on Pui O. Never forget that, a typhoon truck and we were camping! Did get to surf some huge waves, and managed to stay out all night! I have a couple of films yachting out from Chatham Marina. ua-cam.com/video/IIcrKLG7HYc/v-deo.html Also last year sailed up the Thames to St Katherine’s dock. ua-cam.com/video/lRFb6-thNvs/v-deo.html Are you. still in DBay? Paul
I watched this video before coming to look at apartments in DB and I have ended up living here now. Although not the real HK, its a really nice place to live with a dog and a baby, and worth putting up with a longer daily commute 'back to reality' for work ;-) Thanks for helping with my house hunting! Oh, and I love Uncle Russ as well!
I just re-watched this, now that we are living in NZ. Great memories of living in DB and HK. I enjoy getting my HK hit by watching your HK vlogs. Keep it up!
DB is indeed inhabited largely, but not entirely, by a floating population of expats but is still a fundamental slice of the "real" Hong Kong, which remains a diverse, multicultural city with strong International links. There are several other, different slices of Hong Kong
I made several visits to HK between '03 and '05. I have some very fond memories of the place as it's where I met my wife. She lived in Discovery Bay. Now we live in Discovery Bay, California...which is 'ok', but it doesn't compare to Discovery Bay, Hong Kong, which is 100x nicer. I feel sad for the people there now, after what Chinese rule is doing to them. If there should be a move towards independence, I hope the nations of the world supports them.
Similar situation. I had to leave due to more mainland pressure -> increased rents -> reduced job opportunities. Now I'm in Canada. I miss this place, I can't stand the cold weather
Hi How are you prsw100 safely You are a creative person in your work and I was very much impressed by your channel is very wonderful and I want to ask permission to take the videos and re-raise in my channel after the translation in Arabic to benefit the community also You made me think about traveling to Norway It is very beautiful Thank you with all my heart
Sorry cannot do that as I will have copyright issues when I sell the videos or footage. It already happened and the videos had to be taken down. I looking into doing subtitles.
Moon Rak rent is anywhere from 20k-100k depending on what you want/need. Not too sure about Kowloon grocery prices, but it is significantly more expensive than what I used to pay for groceries in Tung Chung
Thanks, but Disco Bay is not particularly expensive compared to places where you don’t need the ferry ride. It’s a great place for a day out, but I wouldn’t want to live there unless my job was there.
@@prsw100 I lived in HK for 20 years and LA for 27 years now however I rather live in discovery bay when I am back wouldn't mind taking the ferry daily to commute.
@@TennisOnActionFrom what you say we both arrived in HK in 1974! The ferry ride is fun, but I feel it is limiting - ferry schedule, getting to and from it adds too much to a day - plus first and last ferries! I’m 5 minutes drive from the office. (Plus five minutes getting down to the car, and five minutes from the car park to the office!) ha.

Great place to live, was there in the late 80's. Changed a little around the ferry terminal.
Thank you very much! Good memories! From Moscow with love!!
thank you so much for proving such a colorful video

Amanzing and beautiful!

Love it a great video.I would not have seen the world this way if not for you. Thanks for being God respectful.
Thanks, my aim is to do that, I try to keep out of the films and show the place, but with a little 'personal' touch.
Excellent as usual.

Very nice camera
You’re on the little ferry!
Excellent documentary as usual. But sir if you focused on the food along with the travel it 'll be much more exciting
I showed the food!
That’s where I live
Hong Kong is a fantastic place.... if you're rich

We stayed in Discovery Bay - at the other end! You did not show the Plaza, right off the pier, that we frequented, the most popular I would say..

I live here and let me tell you one day it could be enormously windy and another extreme heat
I'm assuming all those hazey backdrops is due to pollution in the air?
I live in discovery bay
It looks like a paradise. How much is the rent? Is grocery more expensive than Kowloon?

Cheese
It's fantastic place only for people who can afford to live place like discovery bay.
